Development hell here we come (again).
Pretty much sums up what I feel about it ATM.
Will this also take 10 years to make.
When I was nine years old and played Duke Nukem, I wanted to write to Schwarzenegger to star in it. From my POV, DN: The Movie was only a few years away (along with Diablo the movie).
Now it seems, the franchise is most memorable solely for the wrong reasons.
now this may seem weird, but bare with me.
what if this person played duke nukem:
! chuck norris
He's not chauvinistic enough.
Whoever plays Duke better also play Guile in SF II
Um SF will be out in a few months this movie might not be out for a good 5-10 years at the most.
SF II.
Two.
As in the sequel.
Speaking of SF, why was Guile the main character of Street Fighter: The Movie and not Ken/Raiyou?
Bruce Willis is most likely going to play Nukem. I mean, they even modeled his appearance in the later games after him.
In the game SFII at the time there was no set main character. So america just took the guy from the US and focused on him.
Now that street fighter has an actual story to follow The future movies hopefully won't be as bad because now they have something to follow.
Many people look at the SF movie and say It doesn't follow the story of the game. That's because at the time they made the movie there was no official story so they had to take (horrible) liberties with the license.
But, weren't Ken/Raiyou as the default characters the "main" ones? And Ken being half-American at that? (not saying Guile was a bad choice, it just seems..cheesy).
I still want to see that movie.
SF II.
Two.
As in the sequel.
You mean the animated movie or the game cuz there was no sequel to the movie.
As in a sequel to the one coming out next year.
Dude, A sequel to the movie coming out next year should use duke nukem as guile.
That should clear confusion.

So whoever plays Duke Nukem in the Duke Nukem movie should play Guile in a potential sequel of the new SF moive?
Eh, I'll be honest, I think Duke Nukem needs to be layed to rest.
The last game to come out was Duke Nukem Advance, and while that was awesome, I have extreme doubts about four games AND a movie being developed at once.
I thought Forever and the rerelease of 3D were the only games being worked on.
yeah thats what I meant
Hmm, maybe they should make a series of Duke Nukem movies. The first one could be based on the very first DN game, where Duke heads out to kill the insane Doctor Proton- who plans to conquer the world with his army of robots- for interrupting Duke's soap opera with his world domination announcement. Duke even goes so far as to blithely tell the doc that he'll be done 'in time for Oprah!' It's that angle of Duke that makes him seem more complex than the leering, loutish killer he really is.
Now why do I get the feeling that they'd actually use a line like that to pitch the film to studio execs?
That'd work if cheesily written stories like that were excepted in this day & age or if ever.
@Sandai:

They are, they just have to be disguised properly. Just call it "parody of B-movie video game adaptions" and it might pass; people can get away with any genre of movie so long as they assert it's a parody of said genre.
