What's the matter with all those SBS-hosts? Is there a special besides Tanaka's interview?
Thanks for the pictures!
Oda invited readers to ask questions to the dubbing crew of the original anime version. (he gave the adress of the Toei animation studio)
He didn't promise it could be done but here it is, Takana (Luffy's voice) is the first to answer the fans !
Okay, while very shittily drawn, the Arlong-dressed-as-Sogeking art makes me lole.
What's that in the SBS about the 11 Supernova lined up with text next to them?

It's just Oda listing the real-life inspirations for [the names of] the Supernovas, as Greg mentioned.
Nothing new or interesting that we don't already know, but at least it's better than the what's-the-thing-in-my-kitchen-using-soru question.
I'm actually interested about the bit concerning Urouge, since I don't know what inspired his name yet.

rereads
It says that Uroge (pronounced "Uroji"- something I didn't know until now) was the 16th century Arab pirate, Barbarossa.
(why is the word kyoudai in there? who is a brother to whom?
My own question is, where did the romanji Urouge/Uroge come from? Were the translators using Aruj as a basis?
Woah my bad. I thought everyone already researched the names to death here. Is there anybody else anyone was interested in?
I suppose I am interested. I never really looked into their names.
Yeah, some names I knew (names like Kid or Hawkins or Capone were just blatantly obvious), but others, like Urouge or Apoo were more obscure. And I don't remember what was done at Trafalgar Square. So it'd be nice to see Oda confirming his inspirations.

Oda wrote their name in romanji when first introducing them in manga.

So can someone refresh my memory – does this break the record set by that one Skypiea volume (Was it 26? 27? I keep forgetting ...)
Law is from Edward Law and Apoo is from the Chinese pirate Chui Apoo. Please note my spelling of the Chinese name is totally a guess and I don't have time for a Google check. Heading to Tokyo for vacation! Weee!

Not sure in terms of weekly debuts, though this is one of, if not the biggest openings. But yeah, v.26/27 are still the highest selling first edition volumes to date (2.63m copies)
Though total sales data for (v. 49-51) is still pending, so that might change.

Thanks for that!

This was one of the more interesting volumes, so I can see it taking the record. Though who knows, what seems popular to me might not be so for the rest of the world. Off-topic: Your avatar is screwing with my head; I cannot figure out if Urouge has breast implants or if that is just an optical illusion.
congrats to One Piece vol52 for reaching a million copies on it's first week again

ah right… I actually haven't seen a raw yet. Guess I should pick up 51 and 52 ASAP. thanks.

Um, Naruto's volume came out the beginning of November so of course it wouldn't be there anymore. But still…you hear the hype regarding some of the other stuff coming out this month (Bleach's "Turn Back the Pendulum" arc, the Yoshiwara arc in Gintama...um, D.Gray just being popular) and watching OP crushing everything still...it's just funny now.

Thanks BF.
Hold that thought.
We'll compare notes again after the first edition figures are released.

I like the word "crushing" in this context
Congratulations on the volume for being on Top… again...
BTW, what the hell is that cover of Pandaman, and how to get that cover?? I'm such a noob, but i might as well ask it...

Sometimes Oda changes the cover image under the jacket slightly to add a Pandaman cameo (like with that BW cover where Croc is Pandaman). On even rarer occasions Oda does a completly different cover under the jacket, this volume is one of those extra rare occasions.
Thank you. I was waiting for it.
…but this is the worst Volume's raw ever =(
( Low quality pics, no Usopp Gallery... ). I hope in a better one!
Wow, thanks for the cover
I`ll post HQ scans of cover, SBS and Usopp Gallery Pirates leter today~ :3 Just got the volume in
They fixed few things, like this:
[hide]
[/hide]
but Rayleigh`s scar still remains gone in the frames where it was gone before Was it done on purpouse?
I also found few frames where Kizaru misses his glasses XD I know they are small, but still XD Amusing~
[hide]
[/hide]
LOOOOOOOOOOOL, Kizaru without glasses is damn funny, and he's a little weird in that angle :S
But maybe that's on purpose? Who knows?
HQ cleand vol cover.
Will add SBS and Usopp Gallery later, I was too busy today so I coudln`t finish =_=

I'm guessing "not", but with Oda, who knows. It may turn out to be some major plot point later on …

Very much so!
Me, being me : first thing I noticed was that they didn't fix Zoro's wound. It still migrates from his left side to his right side when Robin rolls him over. Maybe it's a new talent of hers? ^.^;
Sheeesh! Finally! I`m so-o-o slow! >_<

Raw Volume 52 other version?
Guys, off-topic question:
Is there any way to download all the Volume's SBS and "Usopp Pirates Gallery"?
Still no proper RAW of the Volume? There were two at Mangahelpers, but every Link says, that the file was deleted… Does someone have those RAWs and may share it?
Does anybody got the raws at http://raw-manga.aceboard.fr/forum2.php?rub=9595&cat=10631 ? Cause now both links are dead…and they're usually HQ in this RAW-MANGA forum.
When will Steph translate the SBS from this volume?
considering it would be a dick move to bump the volume 53 prediction thread
the volume's out march 4th
so shouldn't we have a picture of the cover in 1-2 weeks?
Considering when we got the covers for the recent few vols, I`d say the cover would be up at around March the 1st.
