Strawhat Relaxation Arc?

This is mostly out of my curiousity (being a writer), but I think it would be less complicated if I use One Piece as an example.

What if One Piece were to have an arc, or maybe half an arc, of the Strawhats 'relaxing' in a way.

For example. Remember the episode Robin and Chopper gained a friendship (Local-chan does, XD) while the other crew members were exploring (or getting food) the island they landed on.

What if there was an entire arc/mini-arc of the characters simply living happily and having moments before a massively epic arc takes place (say, before they reach One Piece, or something else)? How would you react to the arc? Would you be pissed or annoyed? Would you enjoy it?

Well I have to say… I myself would find it boring cuz it would stretch the series without something important story relevant arcs.

I would like a short arc where the opponent isn't really that bad and they fight him because of a misunderstanding so the strawhats wouldn't have to go all out on him. He would probably know some deep information though that pertains to the whole series or would own a poneglyph. He would be very funny though. Like Buggy's dad or something.

The arc would have to contain fighting though. It's hard for me to see an arc with out any fighting at all unless someone in the manga was holding the 7th databook.

I'd would prefer that is was four to five chapters (about two episodes) of their enjoyment. I think the "relaxation arc" should take place between the Strawhat's travels. Like when the Strawhats are traveling from one island to the next.

Huh? What about those scenes at Water 7? Isn't that a relaxation arc? Well, relaxation episodes at least -_-". Anyway, I want some episodes/chapters when the strawhats discover their new techniques. Or at least, when they're training to do so.

I wouldn't mind a couple relaxing chapters. Don't get me wrong I love the action but it's always nice to slow down for a bit. Maybe if the StrawHat crew found an uninhabited island and they just split up and go looking for food or supplies. Each group gets their own couple chapters and they meet up back at the Thousand Sunny. Sounds good to me.

I think it would be rather boring without the explosions of fights and insane villains we have come to know and love. However if there were a short arc with lots of hillarity, I might be into it

I wouldn't mind a few chapters to get to know the unique relationships between each member. I think it would be interesting and would give us a deeper insight to what daily like as a Straw Hat would be.

i would not mind a 1 episode to 4 thats the limit i cant stand filler but i would like to get like a zoro robin trapped on an island and go through hell only to form a bond between the 2…...but thats just me.

I think they all need more one on one interaction. Small group character development. I mean I like action, but a story isn't that great when you don't understand how a character is. Don't get me wrong, they are all developed but I think they can go farther and see something new. They've been through a lot and I wonder how that's affected them. We also really need more screen time with Brook and Franky as they are so new.

I like to see normal sailing things or little ocean battle. Just how they live they life when sailing.

Are you kidding? These are the moments I live for in all of my favorite series, especially One Piece! (And Dragon Ball).
This is why I love fancitions so much! I would love for there to be an entire arc of this. Of course only one arc and then that's it for a while. If there was too much of this I would get tired of it and these rare moments in the series would lose their "special-ness", if you will. The best time for this though would be between the Kuro and Baratie arcs when it's just Luffy, Zoro, Nami and Usopp. I think it would be fun to see Usopp's development with the rest of the crew. Of course that's not to say it would suck now though. No. Now we have Robin, Frany and BROOK!!! YOHOHOHO!!!

I mean, okay, I admit its nice to see character backrounds at times, more backstory, etc, etc, but still, I stick to anime for the action, namely.

Damn, this got some feedback!

I know arcs include moments where the crew rests (Alabastre, post-CP9), but maybe a few episodes of different crew member focuses would expand on the characters.
