Yes. It looks great! And sounds really ambitious. I have been thinking of buying Fahrenheit for the longest time too.
Trailer

looks great! Has a sort of silent hill attitude towards atmosphere. And an Indigo Prophecy take on actions and outcomes. Very shocking it seems. Can't wait to see the controversy this one will cause.. oh boy..
But anyway, I'll have to keep my eye on this one
Such a big house in that trailer.
Hopefully, the button sequence input doesn't become repetitive like DDR.
But the game looks great. I wish I had a PS3 soon. Sooooo many good games coming out on next gen.
And an Indigo Prophecy take on actions and outcomes.
So you have played Fahrenheit? Is second half of the game as bad as everybody says it is? Even if it would be I'm still probably buying it anyway.
Forgot this thread was here.

I've also played it. It's not bad, but it's a bit of a letdown, considering how well the beginning of the story is written.
I enjoyed Indigo Prophecy, so I will be getting this.
Seems to play like the old Lone Wolf adventure books. Looking very promising.

Demo's on PSN if anyone's interested and Gametrailers and IGN have reviews up.

Comes out in a few days. I seriously can't wait.
demo was all right.
What does the demo show and how long is it? I've been wanting to try it out, since it's probably the closest I'm ever gonna get to this game. …Only problem is my PS3 is giving me the flashing red light of death. :/
I'm curious about just how deep the whole "your actions change the story" mechanic will go in this. Just how many different paths can the story take? How many alternatives can happen in the story? Just how little or big are the actions that do these changes? These are answers no body outside the know WILL know for a while. But it's safe to say this thing will be replay hell.
And I hope HOPE that's not the big draw. I hope a single play through at least nets you 8-10 hours. I don't wanna buy this and find out "Oh, the story's only a couple hours long, but you can play through it several times and it'll be different if you play different!" No, just no. I don't generally replay games, and when I do it's because I want to experience it again, not because I'm trying to justify my $60.
It's been said that the story is around 10 hours long. Though not if you kill off all your characters immediately .
Speed runners are gonna have some fun with this I think.
Hey look! I finished the game in 15 minutes! All you have to do is throw all your characters into the river!
… You better be able to do that, for realz. If so, best $60 I'll ever spend.
so its only 8-10 hours long? Thanks for letting me know. I think I'll rent or get this cheap and pre-owned then.
According to IGN, you will only really be able to meaningfully impact the story near the end of the game.
…which is a little dissapointing.
I tried the demo and it feels like the controls work pretty well. Walking probably takes some time to get used too though.
I couldn't get past the part where Jayden climbs the hill because of those damn button combos :getlost:
the part with the hill climb…
so the first trek up the hill I slipped a couple times on the first part (there are 3 sections of the hill to climb) and when Jayden falls he barley stops himself on one foot, right above the metal part of the tracks. So I make the climb and the music builds accordingly as I get further up (the more treacherous it becomes). The atmosphere and tension has built inside me as I make it to the side of the highway. You're following exactly where the killer has gone too. It's cool. So after deciding that enough evidence is found... you have to make your way down the now imposing hill.
of course I do this correct on the first play through... so I decide to do a second run and see how menacing this hill really is.
It's not...
I make it all the way to the top, turn around and start my climb down.. making sure NOT to do the button sequence correct... Jayden falls... but only to the next ledge... where he's fine. He falls again to the first ledge.. and the final time he falls the exact same way.. keeping his balance above the now harmless metal tracks.
I'm a little disappointed. I know it's just one small detail. But it seems the only consequence is that his nice clothes get really muddy. But I was hoping for a few more outcomes... maybe the tension built me up too much. I was expecting something where death could come at the most unlikely of times.
Still was fun and made me want to play more

When did I ever say that? I said I was HOPING it will at least be that long, we don't know how long it is. Also, you do know most non-RPG's are about that long, right?
I said it. At the stage demo at E3 they said it was going to be around 10 hours long. Assassin's Creed II was around that right? It was long enough for me.
I really liked the demo and I already preordered Collectors Edition for only 46.5€
I'm one of those, who just can't wait till it's out x)

Which is pretty damn shitty if you think about it.
The good thing about Heavy Rain though, is that its actually worthwhile to replay thanks to branching storylines.

Blah  I couldn't complete it. Although I did only try twice.

Jayden's demo wasn't really great I'd rather prefer that had went with the Junkyard demo instead.
Which is pretty damn shitty if you think about it.

And multiple endings plus the game has DLC in the tube.
@Kairouseki:

How did I miss that?
Dunno. I didn't realize this thread existed and created my own with 2 trailers and the stage demo in it. It's just called Heavy Rain.
so in "a sleezy place" part of the demo I tried to see how far I could take the choices.
1.) After a successful interrogation of the hooker, I tried to see if I could stay in her place long enough to be inside when the tough guy comes knocking… which the game doesn't let you do (or at least the demo). She makes you leave every time and it plays out the same in the hallway.
2.) During the Asthma attack, I didn't press anything to see if he would get hurt by it or pass out. Nope... he just stands there and keeps wheezing. The game doesn't progress until you use your inhaler
darn
I just played the demo and all I can say is "WOW!" A game hasn't got my adrenaline pumping like that in a long time, and it's just the demo! I'm not crazy about action/choice heavy games like this, but this is a buy for me.
@Gekko: If you just keep weezing does the situation with the two in the apartment get worse? Are you able to just leave? I planned on finding out myself, but if you already have do tell.
thing is that the situation with the two in the apartment wont even start happening until you properly use your inhaler.
you'll just stay there breathing hard until you use it. Then the guy will start walking past you.
Messed around some more. If you choose the wrong questions she'll just tell you to leave, everything proceeds as usual. If you don't press anything in the fight Shelby will get his ass kicked and the guy will just get fed up and leave. Shelby will be fine and things proceed normally. If you choose to leave without confronting the guy you'll do just that.
These choices are bound to have consequences in the full game, tho.
Saw the Gametrailers review. Looks pretty neat. Aparently the ending changes depending on your actions, and repeat playthroughs are necissary to get the best results. Seems cool. Not my first chocie for a PS3 title, but I'll likely give it a shot at some point.
Hopefully the basic endings aren't too sad.
Comes out tomorrow! I hope I don't have homework tomorrow, I want to play it for awhile after I get it.
Looks like I won't be getting it due to the sheer amount of new OP merchandise announced for this year, I'm gonna have to put back money so I'm limiting how many games I buy. FFXIII could very well be the only game I buy in a while.
Personally, I'd much rather spend money on video games than any merchandise of any franchise/series, even if it's OP
I used to buy a lot of merchandise but realized I wasn't doing shit with it so I stopped
I don't do shit with it either, but I like having it, what can I say?
I'm up to playing as the FBI detective for the first time. Loving the game so far. The graphics and animation are phenomenal and the story's pretty good. There's only been one fight so far but is was awesome. I did notice some stuttering towards the beginning but it hasn't happened since. Even if you don't like the game you should still appreciate it for the work of art that it is.
Edit: Forgot to mention. While the game is installing data to the hard drive it teaches you how to do origami .

That's so fucking awesome.
The game is fucking awesome . It's difficult enough to be fun but not too difficult for you to get mad at it. I've managed to keep all my characters alive so far, thought I was a goner a few times. I don't know how far I am from the end but I might be close, but that's only because I've been playing it constantly for the past 3 days . My favorite character is the dad, it's so sad :cwy: . And the acting is top-notch.
It has practically everything in it, everyone will find something to be enjoyed. Any time you have to make a choice it makes you really consider each choice. The walking gets some getting used to (it sometimes bugs me still) but I don't feel that it takes away from the game.
I'm gonna have to say that this game has my favorite story, and the way it unfolds, is my favorite out of any game I've ever played. You really feel for all the characters. The suspense is incredibly high and you feel tense when one of the characters is in danger.
Very, VERY, highly recommended.
Do you have time to think about the choices, or do you have to hurry up and act?
@Kairouseki:

All accept those morons who can't accept the fact this isn't an action-adventure game.
Don't know when I'll be getting this but I guess Mass Effect 2 & Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer will keep me busy til then.
Do you have time to think about the choices, or do you have to hurry up and act?
it really depends on the situation.
Many choices come during high tension moments and also at times, very suddenly.
you can't just sit back, relax, and eat with one hand while you play this… you'll get caught off guard.
it really demands ALL of your attention
One such moment gives you about 5:00 minutes to make a really really tough choice. sure you've got 5 minutes... but it really doesn't seem like it... it all seems like an instant
this game is surprising and quite fun
Finished the game. I'm not surewhat difficulty I was on but I'll try the hardest one next. I think I got a sad endng, I lost one character near the end.
! Every character survived to the end. I managed to save my son as Ethan, but when I went outside I was shot by the cops. There is a twist in the story that I didn't see coming (maybe that's just me though). I didn't think it made since right away but it does. I want to get all the endings.
I can't wait until the next game this studio makes.
@Buuhan1:
Do you have time to think about the choices, or do you have to hurry up and act?
As Gekko says, some choices have to be made in an instant, such as during a chase or a fight. Others give you more time to think everything through.

The game should have started you out on the hardest difficulty
You pick the difficulty. I can't remember which one I picked though, and I only recall there being 2 choices when I first started the game up and now there are 3.
The game should have started you out on the hardest difficulty
Why would anyone want to be shoehorned into a difficulty that might be so hard it might force them to never beat the game?
