Dragon Ball Z: Infinite World Announced For PlayStation 2

Namco Bandai Games and Atari have just announced Dragon Ball Z: Infinite World for the PlayStation 2.
Dragon Ball Z: Infinite World features the all new “Dragon Missions”, which include many famous scenes from the Dragon Ball Z series never before seen in a video game. A range of missions from time attack in the “Snake Road Mission” alongside other action and racing-style missions, puts player’s strategy and quick-thinking skills to the test beyond simply showing off their deadly fighting skills.
The game features over 40 unique characters, where each character can transform. On top of characters, fighting techniques and battle stages, Dragon Ball Z: Infinite World also includes selected drama scenes from the previous games all presented using beautifully refined effects and shading techniques.
Dragon Ball Z: Infinite World is scheduled for release on PS2 this December in Europe, as a North American release is yet to be determined.

I expected such a reaction, but that's really the only way I could describe it. It has the Budokai 3 system from the looks of it, so it can't be too bad… Okay, it can turn out being quite bad, we'll just have to wait and see.

I wish this free roaming parts and finally some better cut scenes will be in Budokai Tenkaichi 4 ( I prefer the game play in this series ) and maybe Wii Motion Plus?
I mean, it would be pretty poor if they'd just add OTHER useless characters AGAIN, just to reach the 200 mark and sell it as a brand new game…

It's not bad it's just really makes you wonder why would they make a new Dragonball Z game that runs on the Budokai 3 engine 4 years after Budokai 3 originally came out, not to mention with the fact that Sparking and Burst Limit have since succeeded the Budokai series.

This is clearly just a little game to get some money, the fact it is simply a modification of an older game and that it's only being published on a single console which has since been succeeded is proof enough. I'm not expecting much, but it could end up being fun.

Burst Limit and the PSP's Shin Budokais have run on pretty much the same engine as Budokai 3 did. It's not like they're going back to something they abandoned.

As for this game, it seems like a very nice "last hurrah" for DBZ games on the PS2, and the system deserves it. I'm glad it's another Budokai game, though a Super DBZ 2 would have been nice as well.

Well it got best wii fighter for E3, it'd probably sell more if online had actually worked. But reviewers kept telling people that budokai T 2 was the better buy since it was cheaper, and the only reason to buy BT 3 was for well… the online play.

However, the BT series is far less fun than the Budokai series, I could care less how close a game is to playing like the show, as opposed to having balance and fun.

While it may seem cool to have an invincible ssj4 gogeta, and omega shenron, that can destroy krillin in one super. What was the point of including Krillin, or hell ANY BODY, if they can barely hold their own. (it's possible but annoying as crap.)

That and I'm pretty sure the complexity drove many people away. When I first played, I was overwhelmed, I still am a little bit.

I honestly think the wii could use another Budokai game, they stopped right before it got good. I don't understand atari, they should've known the game wouldn't have sold well for gamecube if the PS one's sucked balls. So they should've saved up until B3, when everyone bought it, to actually port it over.

But nintendo fans can't win, now even the main franchise is releasing less games.

as for the other stuff, Budokai 3 was more balanced gameplay wise IMO, especially with the whole power up system. Ki actually mattered in that game. BT 3 your SSJ 3 with little to no consequence.

And the budokai 3 thing for gamecube: Budokai 1 and 2 got bad reviews, however, they made decent sales for the ps 2, which were I assume they get the funding and decision to make Budokai 3. However, I'm just saying why would you port a bad game to another system and expect it do well? Shit on top of a ps2 doesn't look better on top of a gamecube.

I'm saying they should've waited for Budokai 3. IDk, doesn't sound so stupid to me.

My 3 year old copy of B3 is broken.
It should only be about 40 bucks.
Its got new characters and free roam missions.

The best DBZ games ever will be the gba adventure ones like Legacy of Goku, Buus fury, they were awesome but so was the first T. budokai

Budokai Tenkaichi's all suck ass in comparison to the regular budokai series. But fans seem to believe proper story balance and game balance coincide. They don't. In a fighting game I should be able to pick whoever I want and win with skill, not because I'm the leet SSJ 4.

the best dragonball games IMO are B3, Dragonball Advanced Adventure, Dragonball Z 3 for nintendo (it's an RPG/board game.), and burst limit, budokai tenkaichi 3 for the wii comes in dead last, due to faulty features and broken gameplay that's actually passed off as "normal".

Anywho, hopefully this game will have cinematics as well, I'll be hella pissed if there's no movies.

Well you could've bought the PS2 version but I'm guessing the novelty of using the Wii remote to fire Kamehameha's and online play were too attractive to pass up.

Well if it's taking taking almost all cues from Budokai 3 it wouldn't suprise me much if they didn't.

Umm… no, that's not all you do. If you keep doing that your opponent will get free (be it by bouncing or being knocked out of your range) and promptly kick your ass. Saying "All you do is mash A!" applies to almost all games, so yeah.

He has a good point, though. That disc fusion crap was a rip-off. I personally never used it after I first unlocked it. It was a nice little gimmick, but it didn't last long.

As for the Tenkaichi/Sparking! series sucking. I really think only the 3rd Budokai was better than that series. I liked the idea of free roaming, and the controls were simple. Another good thing was the story mode. It could have been better, but it covered alot.

I'd say gameplay-wise, the Tenkaichi/Sparking! series is more of a "quick multiplayer match" type of game, whereas the Budokai series is for more serious gamers.

Sadly my favorite budokai game was no 1. I just loved the story mode and Goku's bomber Jacket. And also Vegeta's badass black clothes. I think it's better when companies take liberties with the license instead of trying to make it EXACTLY PERFECT. Sometimes it's cool and other times it's annoying. I'm all for anime-correct but what the fuck was up with the humans in Tenkaichi? If you werent an alien is wasn't worth the time to play as you. And it was cool when Broly was untouchable in the first tenkaichi but when all the bruisers got it, it became stale. I'm really hoping this game is 1 + 3 because that would be a dream come true.

Budokai 1 easily had the best story mode.

I haven't seen Burst Limits too much, but I heard it wasn't as good as it seemed.

Technicalities. Technicalities. You know what I meant. Humans were pure shit. Even Tenshinhan and Yamcha were crap. It's sad when you can utterly defeat everyone in the game with Videl (Except for apes and Hilde)
I like Budokai 2 as well for those Optional Fusions: Tiencha and Gokule. But that board game story mode was whack. But I do like when Vegeta yells "The GINYU FORCE!" when he first meets Recoome. I was laughing for days on that.
The main strikes against Tenkaichi for me is the ridiculous roster. I'm all for a buttload of characters but damn! give some originality. Everybody was the same in that game the most original person was…was...Base Goku! WTF.

Edit: Don't get me wrong I like all of the games but there are just little ticks that make games feel bad too me. The number one thing I hate in fighting game is clone characters. Street Fighter was able to keep their clones different enough for each one to be called a different character and you had a different style for each one. But Tenkaichi WTF.

To me one the the best games is Shin Budokai Another road for the PSP.

I was exaggerating. My point was I've beaten all three with just punches (for the most part, those tanks were like one of the few exceptions), and blocking.

I don't know what they could've done to make the games better, but the one on one fights needed something to boost up the difficulty. Number 3 was a LOT harder than it's predecessors but that's not saying much.

But then again… they market it towards children.

And Zkaiser pretty much hit with what I was getting at. Except he MAJORLY contradicted himself when he said he could beat everyone with Videl. But I guess you could with all her freaking Rush attacks.... >_>
