She gets on my nerves and i think is the most annoying sitcom wife eva and this thread is based off the one over at imdb and i am using some points that others have said cause im too lazy to retype myself specially when someone else has already done it…and probably better than i could. Oh and i like Home Improvement a lot and the actress that plays Jill does a really good job its just the character that bugs me (maybe the writers did there job?), i mean if i didnt why would i even make this thread...
- Right on the first episode, she fails to get a job, lashes at Tim for it (though the dishwasher explosion might have something to do with it), and accuses Tim of not wanting her to work.
-She puts a pottery wheel in the garage, a place where she knows Tim spends most of his free time. Then she gets mad when Tim tells her she's bothering him, devises a schedule to share the garage and schedules Tim's time when he's at work. Then she claims she's doing pottery to get away from Tim. If you're trying to get away from Tim, why take up a hobby that requires her to spend time where he does his hobby?
-She opens up a checking account with money she earns from her job, then says Tim's not allowed to spend it. They can spend the money he earns together, but the money she earns is only for her? I don't think so.

Even though sometimes she babbled on about male dominance, she was sometimes a domineering wife. After a lot of discussions with Tim, it usually ended with her making a choice regardless of Tim's thoughts and claiming that "we" decided it. She made the plans for her and Tim to go to the opera fundraiser without talking to Tim, decided by herslf to forbid Randy to drive at night for a whole month and claiming that "we" decided it, and forbid Mark from flying lessons and claiming that "we" decided it.

Remember that episode where she was so frustrated with her schoolwork and she told Tim to build her an office. Tim was unhesitant to build her an office to help her (and because he really likes to build stuff). And while she was talking to her therapist about her stress, she says a big list of problems and then said "those are only half of my problems, and the other half, I'm married to it." I really hated her the very moment she said that.
-
When she was on a talk show, she said things about Tim like he was going through midlife crisis, he was emotionally fragile, crying out on the inside, and some other stuff, and she exagerated that supporting him is such a huge burden for her. "Tim is the one who is suffering. That's why it's so important for me to always be there and listen to all of his ideas, no matter how stupid or pathetic.

When her photographer sister came to visit her to observe the married life, she started thinking she couldn't have a great life like her sister anymore because her life was over the moment she got married.
I know its a show and that it wouldnt be half as good without the Tim and Jill fights pretty much every ep but a lot of the things she did were just obnoxious i mean as someone said her "characteristics are as unsavory and easy to find as someone running a stop sign." She had some very bad feminist issues if you ask the K. Or once again i coulda just said this since he said it better than me
Jill is a faux-good wife, much like most wives are on TV. Their husbands go along with the way they act and their ridiculous characteristics are made acceptable with the audience. Now don't get me wrong I don't think Jill is evil, or does what's wrong all the time, but she's inherently bad when it comes to her marriage. She is very unfair with Tim, blames stuff on him when he didn't do anything and it's absolutely her fault. She invades his personal space, and then gets upset at him for wanting personal space. If it were a woman, personal space would be a holy institution that could not under any circumstances be invaded, but a man, what the heck it's a man, invade away. This is the double standard crap I hate about Jill.
blah blah blah, did she annoy anyone else with her bullshit sometimes?
