Yeah, he seems calm, but he's an evil muthafucka. I incorporated alot of my studies into developing real vile villains into this guy. Plus, the fact that his main power centers around death and decay helps the imagery a bunch, as well (plus having the power to decompose someone alive is just awesome).

Whoa, it's Frieza? I thought it was Telly Savalas after a freak nuclear accident. Excellent work on the shading and highlights, as always. Good use of foreshortening on the outstretched right hand, too. I could tell it was Frieza, to be honest, but it just doesn't have that "I am an intergalactic fop" feel to it. He looks a little too manly, is what I'm trying to say.

Detailing is excellent…I'm also amazed at the lack of smudging...
But seeing as you're using graphite...why not try using more values?

Yes, what King_Ty said, values = shades
But to elaborate, because Freeza has only two different values per body part, he looks rather flat. Take his tail for example…I only see two shades. The shadow on his tail, is very close to the other value. Even though there are strokes to indicate some sort of round wormlike quality, the mind still registers it as flat because the values look too similar.
All in all, try darkening the shadows and sticking in 1 or 2 midtone values in there.
There's a lot more that can be said on the subject of shading, but there are plenty of books that explain it better than I can.
As a general tip, after you feel that you're done with a drawing, prop it up against a wall, and view it from...around 15 ft back (drag an unsuspecting bystander with you if you like). If you or your bystander can't differentiate background from foreground, character from character, then you aren't really done.

Ya, I do get that comics vibe from your work. (And I'm still VERY jealous of your clean lines)
Hatching…that's another thing...
With pencil, hatching is more suited for refining and detailing existing shadows. Using hatching to actually define the shadow itself is more common with pen/ink. (Though you see it in preliminary pencil sketching too.)
The edge that graphite has over pen, is that you are able to shade using a variety of tips...you can use a blunt point, chiselled point, or the side of the pencil. (Not just the tip)
I mean, if you're using pencil, I think you ought to experiment more and go all out, rather than limiting yourself to pen techniques.
Actually, I use a mechanical pencil, so alot of those techniques are kinda tough for me. Like I said, I'm trying to learn more pencil tricks and the like, but getting into comic work has left me more familiar with those kinds of techniques.

I'm careful not to smear, and I spray all my drawings with Workable Fixatif to prevent smearing after it's done. Also, I'm careful not to rest my hands on areas with alot of shading. In the newest picture, I worked from the top down so things like Poppy's bombs wouldn't get horribly smeared.
I allways end up smearing my artwork by accident. Nice artwork btw love the kirby and goomba ones. Oh and your frieza is fecking in credible.
i was wondering when you'll update. I like the randomness.
I should also point out I use a mechanical pencil with a fine tip, so that probably helps to prevent smearing, too.
how interesting, I too use a mechanical pencil but I didn't know that they came fine tiped.
I use 0.5 sized lead, if that helps.

SO some comic drama comes in here. You see, I lost my inker for the comic submission, on acount of him vanishing off the face of the earth (personally, I believe he's dead). So I went though the arduous task of finding a new inker. Well, I found one. An amazing one. One that must be seen to be believed. So, as a preview, here's the cover of the comic book submission, pencilled by myself, and inked by one Stacy Smith.
We make one helluva team, as you can see. Quick note: the character pictured is a Vampire, so the goopy stuff here is blood.
