The story was publicized so I guess all the legal stuff was fixed by the company and anyone who tries to plagiarize will get sued.
So basically they want to get serialized and get an anime based on their work in 4 years did I get that right???

Decent chapter. I'm starting to realize that I don't really like the main character in this manga that much though. Something about him kind of annoys me. Not sure what it is though.
Water tends to ruin paper and ink, I think. Plus they decided the chapters were "not good" because they were of a series they weren't doing.
Course, probably would've been realistically a better idea to keep them, since people DID like the series. But for the sake of the manga they threw them away for the symbolic reasons.
I like the way this manga's going. When it started it seemed like there wouldn't be enough content to make it continuously interesting, but it's pretty good.
They meant "cult" as opposed to "mainstream".
I'm pretty sure everyone got that.
But maybe it's not a cult manga, but it not the normal jump manga.
Jump has a lot more than just fighting series. This isn't like some revolutionary concept they're doing. Comics about making comics have been done, many times before even in manga.
Right now this series seems like the standard Sports style series with comic making as the "sport".
Just read the latest chapter and it's awesome as always. They're really going all out now with the SJ references, actually drawing official tankoban covers! I spotted the covers for Naruto 28 and 29 and Bleach volume 19 (no One Piece that I could see though:sad:) And Eiji is crazy as always. It caught me off guard when he freaked after the SJ editor "messed" with his desk. This kid seriously needs to see a psychiatrist. This chapter also makes me wonder if Miyoshi will find a dream of her own to pursue. And I must say it was pretty damn funny when she beat the shit out of Shujin even when he had all that padded armor on. So yeah, good chapter.
I feel really bad for Eiji's editor, having to put up with this crazy kid. Does he even have a name yet? Because I'm going to just start referring to him as Broccoli. Spotted an Eyeshield 21 volume among the pile. Everything else but the Naruto and Bleach volumes was too small for me to make out, though.
Did anyone else find the reference to the audition for the hentai game disturbing?

Hmm, now that you mention it. I wonder what the underage pornography laws are in Japan. I guess if she's just doing a voice it's technically not child pornography, but still.
Not really, but I knew that's the kind of thing voice actresses have to put up with.
Also I think I saw a dragonquest manga in the pile.
Ya need voice actors for everything. And if you want to make a lolicon game or something you need people with young sounding voices. Nothing illegal about any of that. But she refused, anyway.
I think some people in 2ch said you can't do a voice acting for an eroge if you're less than 18. (I'm pretty sure they call it erogeemu in the manga, the translator translated it as "hentai game" because that would have a more well known meaning.)
I was looking through the spoilers before and I thought that guy had a name… But they didn't say it anywhere in this chapter. They wrote it as "雄二郎", which is I believe "Yuujirou". Yeah, it's pronounced that way, all On readings, says so on the wiki written out in hiragana.
http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/バクマン
It's illegal to be involved in the production of an eroge until you yourself are at least 18. So it goes both ways with producer and consumer. :p
That said, there's a lot of seiyuu that get a start in eroge before branching out into actual anime and/or music… Kuribayashi Minami is one such example.
I still find it a bit…'off-putting', if you know what I mean-I never thought they'd audition teenagers (Just on the grounds of principle/integrity, since i'm sure theres a demographic into such material who are atleast twice that age).
Changing the subject though, I agree with Mr.Lucci about not liking the main character so much-I think it's probably think it's because Shujin and Miyoshi just 'outshine' him alot(To be honest those are the only characters I really enjoy, along with Hattori of course).
I like how Miyoshi is slowly getting more development. I wonder what she's gonna pick up now since all the talk about her dreams will surely lead to something. Oh yeah, and:
"You're nice."
"You've got big boobs."
Brilliant.
This really was a chapter about Miyoshi. And her boobs. And ass.
You know, this probably wasn't intended but I feel bad for the genius kid. Whaterer was his name. Dunno why. It's like his being taken advantage of. Or something.
He is being taken advantage of, in a way. The editor doesn't seem to care about him in particular, just getting a hit series to raise his stock as Shueisha. But Eiji is also the ass who wants to cancel any series he doesn't like, so he loses the sympathy.
Once again, Miyoshi stole the show. I wonder if she'll try to be an idol now or something.
Good Chapter. Eiji is definitely an… interesting guy, but his Editor knows a cash cow when he sees it. And Miyoshi indeed stole the show this chapter with her antics. Shujin's line to her was priceless.
Did anyone notice that Nirvana t-shirt ? Was that reference to the American Rock band ? It maybe it was not. Maybe it was a Reference of the Buddah thing….Can anyone inform me ?
i really liked the end to this chapter. I never liked the editor who is just riding on Eiji's raw talent. It was good to see kid knock the curly haired prick down a peg… unintentionally of course.
i'm beginning to enjoy miyoshi's company more and more.
on the second to last page of chapter 17, is it implying that Hattori still thinks they're better off trying to make a cult hit?
and yeah… Miyoshi ass on page 1, breasts on page 9. She's the star.
This was a good chapter. Finally getting more of Miyoshi. She and Shujin are proabably my favorite characters.
I really don't like Eiji now. He's too strange now. He was eccentric before, but now he's just completely insane. I like the way the story is going though.
I love the story. I was shocked with Eiji, yet I figured he would pull something like that. When he had so many different ideas, I knew there was one he really liked.
why does everyone like miyoshi? shes iite but the MC is cool too
my favorite character became Eiji the second he said this:
"Yeah I didn't know what you were talking about so I just said okay."

LOL. Yeah, I think we've all been there.

She has boobies.
Specifically, a cute face and a stripper's body, like many manga fan service-y manga chicks and since otaku are lonely and horny, sometimes pervy..well…it's the perfect storm.
I'm not loving any of the characters specifically. They're all okay, but who's MC?
I do like the interactions between the main guy and his love interest. Those text messages were the most realistic thing in this series so far. I still wanna see more on the creative process and less playing it safe with this series.
And yeha, they never told the editor they were planning to try mainstream again.

Well, lets not forget her eccentric and lively personality…but she is hot though (yum yum) Damn, I seriously need a girlfriend.

MC, I believe, means Main Character (that, or Master of Ceremonies), so he is in fact referring to Mashiro.
The MC is so-so, but the Master of Ceremonies is AWESOME~!!!
eccentric=masochistic beeyotch?
Well, to be fair, Miyoshi was used a lot for fanservice in this chapter, so the swelling of fap-love for her isn'ta big surprise.

Masochistic? How is she masochistic? Do you mean "sadistic"? Masochistic means you enjoy hurting yourself. Sadistic means you enjoy hurting others.
And a beeyotch? Puh-leeze! …well, maybe a little, but she's definitely not as bitchy as that other girl who wanted to go out with Shujin. But yeah, I don't see any huge problem with Miyoshi, in fact, I think I might like a woman who could kick my ass (maybe I'm the masochistic one)
drawing 100 pages from 10 hit action manga's….man wish I had the time to do that.

Dating Shujin??
Actually, I j ust noticed that. Yeah, I meant sadistic.
as that other girl who wanted to go out with Shujin.
The other girl was sort of shy and sweet. She was just kind of an overachiever and bookworm. But she seemed a bit nicer just kind of no-nonesense.

I wouldn't give Iwase (that's the other girl's name for the record) that much credit. Azuki is the real shy and sweet one. Remember she didn't want/wouldn't allow Shujin to pursue his dreams, so she's less understanding and more…realistic I guess. But you do make a good point, I do recall now how she cried after Shujin "rejected" her, so she's not heartless. Of course it's not like she's a major character so we haven't seen much of her personality. So, I'll concede that Iwase is not a total bitch. I think Miyoshi and Iwase have some minor bitchy elements to them, but Iwase is just a little more bitchy.Phew
Actually, it's funny, I think I'm rooting more for Shujin/Miyoshi than Mashiro/Azuki, seeing as how the latter hasn't seen much development (Azuki herself has gotten hardly any development at all)
The thing I like about Miyoshi is that she's smart. Misa Misa was the biggest airhead ever, and Light treated her like a total tool (and she was). Miyoshi doesn't let Shujin push her around, and actually abuses him (in a comical fashion, of course). She's a helluva lot more fun than Misa ever was.

lol, I thought the same thing! It's kind of ironic that he's still making okay grades if I recall- isn't Japanese schooling supposed to be harder than US? Even I didn't have that kind of time in high school!
Chapter 18 by Sleepyfans came out. It was really good, it's interesting the way the plot's going. They've met Eiji now, and he likes them. Though they're still trying to do their mainstream manga.
The current plan is "6 months for this". And Akamaru Jump is once a year, and the current plan requires them to do well in Akamaru Jump again.
I don't get how it is they can be in Shounen Jump and not already be serialized…
…AAGH SO GOOD WHYYYYYYY
I don't get how it is they can be in Shounen Jump and not already be serialized…
Akamaru's a magazine full of random oneshots and other things, though there's also the occasional one-shots in Jump itself from mangaka who the editors think have what it takes. (Komi Naoshi has one running either this week or next, for example.)
…I don't hate Niizuma any more.
AAGH THIS IS L ALL OVER AGAAAAINNNN
The new chapter was hilarious XD
This is actually getting really good, and theres no characters i hate so far.
This was a really good chapter. I think this is the first time in a while that the whole chapter stuck to one setting (the SJ office). So Mashiro and Shujin finally meet Eiji and he…likes them? Actually, that's pretty awesome, I like Eiji a lot more now that I've read this chapter. I kinda hope that's how it ends with the three of them being friends (who says there's not room for all three of them in SJ?). Can't wait to see what the dynamic duo turn out for their mainstream manga.
Oh right, as a One shot. Makes sense, I didn't think of that.
The result of Niizuma having such a crazy personality it's hard to tell where he'll end up. Sometimes he seems evil, sometimes he seems like a hapless genius, reminiscent to L.
Wow,Eiji is actually a fan of Money And Intelligence.
