It's just my guess that Lucci can defeat Eneru with haki. The reason is that Lucci is faster in reflex and attack than Eneru, although Eneru can teleport. A clean hit by Lucci on Eneru means Eneru loses his composure and his mantra is weakened.

Lightning is fast, but not as fast as light.
Fun fact :
1.There are lightning and there are thunder.
2.Thunder travels with the speed of sound.
3.Lightning travel with the speed of light.I think this is elementry science.
Please figure out the rest yourself. -
Lightning doesn't travel at the speed of light. It travels as fast as the ionization of air molecules can go, but that isn't light speed.
The light you see emitted travels at the speed of light. But the arcs of electricity do not.

WOW!!this is definitely not elementry science , so lightning emitted light, which is travel faster than lightning itself  . Ok, enough with the science thing. Thanks for the info btw.

You're welcome, nintouryu.
Now, about Haki itself: We know there are at least 3 types. Haki that can produce a spiritual pressure, a haki that predicts, and a haki that peirces defence and applies strength. I'm wondering, is there a haki that can control people? Maybe Doflamingo has this type of haki, if it is haki.
-
If is there a haki that can control people, and that is a big IF, I think it would be miss golden week(Mr.3 partner), I remember Oda said that she wasn't a DF user, and that statement still holds a lot of question. and about Doflaminggo, I think his a DF user,
-
she's just a hypnotist (color hypnotism according to oda. Each color transmits a different feeling, which some people actually believe IRL)
she's like Jango: Her tricks are just useful against simpletons like Luffy
now I hope people don't begin to bring up the possibility that JANGO uses haki
-
@SombreroDPaja:
now I hope people don't begin to bring up the possibility that JANGO uses haki
same here.
-
i was wondering if it is possible that the type of haki possesed by the person is connected to his/her personality. the type of spirituality that is.
nami/garp has haki? they can injure luffy. well nami sometimes
or ussop. the lame-o chalkboard thingy had been proven effective on insignificant others.maybe everyone has haki. it just depends on the level of spirituality or personality of the person.lol just speculating.
-
I still say Jigorou used Kokuma no Haha Shoku Haki to defeat the pirates that threatened his family. With such a badass stance, even Usopp's Marauders, 8,000 strong as they are, could not have stood against him in life.
Question. I remember in Lone Wolf and Cub that someone once mentioned the force of Ogami Itto's "satsuki", or "killing intent". Would such a thing also fall under the classification of "Haki", or would it be a seperate thing? Lucci, Zoro, and Mihawk all seem to emit this sort of killing intent. Since the concept existed long before One Piece was ever penned, is it possible that "satsuki" is assumed to be the underlying source of their incredible strength in battle?
-
Just stumbled across this one:
!
I know some translators translated Haki as vigor so could somebody please check in the raw whether Tom really used the term "haki" (although it doesn't really fit in the context)? -

Can't wait for a Wolverine Zoan. That thing would ooze Haki all over the panels.
Anyway, I wonder what's up with the stuff of damaging Users. I first thought it was gonna be something psychological since Oda stated Logia need to focus in order to transform, but we know Luffy actually gets damaged, so unless there's more to being rubber 24/7, I guess after all the guy who wrote that is wrong and Haki actually has something to do with the Air blades and the sky splitting when Shanks clashed with WB.
-
Luffy isn't Logia, he's Paramecia.
-
Yeah, that's why I said there should be more than just fear and strength to haki if it even stops the effects of users like Luffy who are in their respective transformations all the time with no effort whatsoever.
-
Haki is a cake. cake cake cake

It wasnt satsuki but Sakki. Anyway, yeah it obviously shares the "ki" kanji, but the other one means "to kill", so its the "spirit to kill" or better "thirst for blood". Pretty different from Haki which means "spirit of supremacy" or better "ambition".
-
I just like to make couple points about Haki uses.
The way I see it, Haki aka spirit / willpower / ambition, can be viewed as energy. Energy by itself is useless, but when its applied to do something that's called Power. Some individuals have mastered it and somehow can apply it in various ways. Some have used it unconsciously. like Lufy with the bull or in the arena. Other past instances that look like might be unconscious or Haki used with out knowing what it was, are just pure speculation. Like Sanji Diablo kicks as in heat/fire that burns opponent but not his leg. Zorro Asura, CP9 Takkai … etc...
So far only couple applications has been shown and stated that it was due to Haki.
Ray Silvers used Haki to knock weaker willed opponents. Luffys uncontrolled outburst in the arena knocking the normal Kuja warriors.
Boa Hancock making the marines hand over their loot, so weaker / less spirited people are susceptible to being controlled. I cant be sure but I think that was application of King Haki - power to stand above others as it was translated.
Haki applied to objects making them harder and/or more destructive. Like the arrows and likely the snakes that stiffened to become bows. Also I think that same application of injecting Haki into, say a palm for blocking, was why Luffy attacks got bounced off Marigold.
What has been ASSUMED not stated, was that predicting opponents moves was due to Haki. Sandersonia being able to read Luffys moves could have been training or part of the Snake DF power. Snakes do have acute senses humans do not.
So unless someone within the manga explains that Haki can allow you to do read opponent lets not jump to conclusions. Just because on Kuja island all can use Haki not everything we see being done there is due to Haki.
-
but I'm not so sure.
Obviously Rayleigh uses Haki, but that doesn't necessarily mean that's how he blocked Kizaru or cut him; it could just be that Rayleigh's yet-undisclosed abilities counter Kizaru's.
He's called the DARK King for one thing. One assumes that this means he was the man in the Pirate King's shadow, but it might have a deeper definition. At the very least it's worth consideration when he's fighting a Light man.
His name is Silvers; again we assume that this is just to fit with Gol D Roger, but who knows. It's worth noting that silver is a material used to make mirrors, and that Rayleigh's sword could very well be made of silver and be a natural counter to Light logia. (like moisture is for Croc)
Most convincingly:
I don't know if this has been seen around here, but I saw this on another board and thought it was pretty interesting.
-
Not everyone believes it, but it is the best explanation at the moment. Check out some of the Haki threads and such, you will see this topic has been covered exhaustively. For starters though, here are the issues with what you brought up:
He's called the DARK King for one thing. At the very least it's worth consideration when he's fighting a Light man.
It would be a little too coincidental that Rayleigh just happened to somehow be the natural enemy of Kizaru, and that his name was the only hint we were given. This would all, of course, mean that the hints of him using Haki, followed by the Amazon's use of Haki against Luffy in the same way Rayleigh (might have) against Kizaru, would have been (more or less) for nothing.
Rayleigh's sword could very well be made of silver and be a natural counter to Light logia.
Biggest problem with this is that Kizaru was successfully blocking Rayleigh's sword attacks with a beam of light. Why would the sword not have the same effect there? Again, that would be highly coincidental. Oh, and is his sandal coated in silver as well?
-
Obviously I can't say for sure, the silver thing might not apply at all. But yes, maybe his sandals are coated with silver; it's his name and he's seen One Piece after all, I'm sure getting some silver (and coating it onto things!) wouldn't be much of a problem for him. And just because the silver might be a counter to the light doesn't necessarily mean it completely dominates it. Croc blocked Luffy's wet blows with sand.
The silver thing is just an idea though. For all I know Rayleigh could have a DF power…Mirror Mirror Fruit or something.
The haki hypothesis is valid enough, but it doesn't have any hard proof to discredit other ideas in my opinion.
-
Ur arguement isnt very convincing. Thats why people assume. Because the other side doesnt have a convincing enough arguement.
-
I hope he was using haki. I really don't want it so that for every Logia Battle the Strawhats have to find the weakness of their devil fruit. Although liquid for Crocodile was cool, it's going to be a pain in the ass for some of the MUCH stronger fighters.
-
Oda's names are usually pretty telling though. Lord Rayleigh wasn't a pirate or anything so it's not a simple connection like that. The Rayleigh Scattering thing seems like too much of a coincidence.
-
blackbeard already has the darkness fruit
rayleigh wouldn't have the same power….
lol nice idea though, i'm reckoning it's some type of haki -
I don't like the "he is strong, he has haki" theories of the last year too. But Marigold and Sonia showed us they can defeat a Rubberman with Haki.
Unfortunately Mari's power did the same Rayleigh did. On the other hand, this move of Oda shows us, why Logia-monsters like Ace don't rule the world. Enel would never have a chance against a "strong willed" elite on the top of the world.
Oda has played this card as an upgrade and to get some substance into the powers of the world. But note this will not be a Naruto-now-has-mascara-upgrade or a SSJ-hairdye-power.
They did use Haki from the very beginning. Haki likely made Zoro's Asura possible. This might even be what Zeff said about the "strong willed ones" back at the baratie arc.Strong willed persons can change their surroundings and they can determine their way on their own. Weak willed persons don't have a choice.
Note that i don't think Haki is a magical upgrade. Its just the power to be free, to do what you want. You can only be strong if you have a strong will, the stronger the will, the stronger is your Haki potential.Look at Boa, she has a huge potential, but she easily struggles. No wonder she can't use her full powers. Look at Buggy and Shanks, they have the same past, but Buggy has a weak personality. Luffy's strongest characteristc is to NEVER act against his way, his dreams and his believes.
-
I understand the concept, and I'm not opposed to the "introduction" of haki. I'm just saying that there's a lot more to Rayleigh than we've seen, and to say that the ability he showed against Kizaru was simply haki is premature when it could just as easily be something else altogether.
Why is "haki" left untranslated, anyways? I like "Ambition" a lot…oh well, I guess that's a different topic.

I love ambition and self-will better too, but the more we see it the more we see it as an actual technique and ambition doesn't fit as a name. Especially since we've been introduced to 2 varying kinds: the haki used in regular fighting (the amazon fighters with their haki-imbued bows and arrows and of course the 2 sisters in the arena and probably Vegapunk's bodyguard) and the "King's Disposition to knock people the hell out" (Luffy, Shanks, Rayleigh)
-
Perhaps Roger had a gold sword and golden shoes…
-
-
A gold sword would be no good. Except perhaps for Enel I guess.
I don't see why Ambition doesn't work in the attack sense. I guess it might be confusing if you just started reading it and saw the word that way, but it could just be the accepted name of the force.
-
If either of these things were the case, wouldn't the World Government have realized that sending Kizaru to fight him would be stupid and instead have called out someone else? >.>
-
This motherfucker is a troll.
-
They didn't know for sure he was on the island. Besides, Kizaru volunteered to go…and he would've succeeded anyways if not for Kuma.
And me, a troll? Perish the thought.

IF Rayleigh's sword was reflective and that's why it worked, it wouldn't explain why the light couldn't dodge around the sword, or why Kizaru (and his light-sword) had to remain solid, instead of breaking apart to dodge the sword and re-forming on the other side.
For reference,
Rayleigh could have easily dodged around the sword, UNLESS there were other forces in play. Which is why most assume haki.
-
Just because Kizaru moves at the speed of light, doesn't mean he reacts at the speed of light.
And I think it has been mentioned by BB. All logias have a "real body". If your real body is caught, there's nothing you can do.
-

uhm yes it would. if kizarus weakness is reflective surfaces he wouldn't be able to dodge them (like that) just like croc couldn't disolve and reform when hit by water and why Enel couldn't when Luffy hit him.

Is it possible Rokushiki abilites could be a variation on Haki usage? Also how in the heck does Koby know Soru if only the CP9 members are supposed to know about Rokushiki powers?
-
Search this thread for Rokushiki. I think people have said that already. It might help your thought process.
-
Yeah sorry bout that. Anyway what if we find out that willpower isn't what gives those who have those powers their strength? We may find out that it's just spirit energy enhanced by ones will instead of the energy actually being ones will. The greater the will the stronger your spirit energy can become.
-
^That's what I think. Except to me willpower is the spirit energy.
-
Hmm so your'e saying that the spirit energy and the willpower go hand in hand? Or maybe it's just that having a very powerful will gives you more of a potential as far as spirit power goes. Sort of like an amplifier for the spirit energy.
