smoker has a weapon made of seastone
maybe in that episode both he and Ace touched the seastone weapon
just had a look.it is!
General 'Haki' Discussion
-
-
Well, here's what I hope its like, because I really hate this whole "Haki is awesome, hurr durr" (I won't have the whole Ace and Smoker scene in consideration, sorry :P)
-The reason why Luffy managed to get hurt even though he's rubber was because what was punched wasn't Luffy's body but Luffy's spirit.
-The reason why Rayleigh managed to revert Kizaru's attack was because of a certain Devil Fruit he has.
I hope this is true.
-
It's one of the things that make one piece great. But I still say it's not that complicated. Haki is simply Oda-sans way of leveling the playing field in the OP universe
I don't dislike the idea of Haki. It's just everybody has their own little "theory" about how it works and if someone says its something else it turns into a 20 page discussion that solves nothing. People just need to have some patience and wait for it to be specificly addressed in the manga.
-
I hope this is true.
It's not, but keep hoping anyway.
And what? They still got hit.
Every time someone with a power gets hit and they shouldn't, someone makes a comment about it. Be it the person who did the hitting, the person who received the hitting, or some other bystander watching the fight. If there is no comment, it was for comedic effect. That's Oda's way of saying, "hey, this isn't normal." Yes, you can go back and check pretty much every instance of this. They all have them. The answer, as far as we currently know, is either natural enemy to a power or haki.

ok i say again.

No. Only the tip is seastone.

this is a strangely homoerotic discussion of kiddie manga…

has anyone considered the fact that not every single thing in one piece is logistically sound?
maybe oda ignores some of his own rules for the sake of comedy or storyline?
at what point can we say "because it's a fucking cartoon!!"

Never. It's not a cartoon.

When was it ever established that haki allowed someone to hit a Logia user?
-
It's implied. Heavily.
-
Then also with the Boa sisters using what they themselves call "haki" and Luffy commenting about how he stopped being rubber when he was hit by it.
-
Urgh…...another haki thread. Can't people just wait until this haki speculation is confirmed. (Which is likey to happen in the next 10 chapters)

Ambition is most likely Oda's way of making certain Logias hittable (while simultanbeously making certain characters seem more "legendary"). Like Kizaru. How the fuck else are you gonna hit that guy?! Or Smoker? What makes Smoke solid? Guy put himself in a corner, and needed a way out of it. Not the most creative way to do it, but there ya go.
i agree…
@LongFist:
"So, if Haki really makes one beig hittable, and, theorically, everyone who really kicks ass knows it and what it does, then why the fuck is there the Yami Yami no Mi?! Oda wouldn't give the most brutal power to a monster guy, just to say afterwards that anyone with Haki can kick a Logia's ass. I mean, the power to hit anything, even Logias, is the great point of this DF, if it were only to give gravity powers and double damage received, it'd be pathetic. Not to mention that in Amazon Lily, you see Haki in just about every corner."
i don't think haki nullify logia or devil fruit…. in my point of view it just nullify the intangibility of logia user... for weak user, when their intangibility is gone, they are doom... they are depend to much on their devil fruit to much...but this case are not apply to the greater fighters like kizaru,where they are using their devil fruit to the fullest..not blindly deped on the advanteges of their logia devil fruit...so even if BB has haki, still is not 100% he can counter devil fruit user...the safe and the best way is having a power that can counter all devil fruit user...so yami yami no mi>>>>>>>>haki... and having haki just to power up non- df user or a df user so they can fight a logia user...
It's one of the things that make one piece great. But I still say it's not that complicated. Haki is simply Oda-sans way of leveling the playing field in the OP universe
can't agree more…

Types of Haki? Well there's cherry Haki, blueberry Haki, pumpkin Haki, and banana creme Haki.
-
Hey, can anyone direct me to where people compared haki to hunterxhunter's nen…or wen....or ren. Whichever, I'm too new to that series then I should be, and it's a pain in the ass using the search tool.
Cause, I want to compare the two ideas myself, but I can't believe a bunch of people haven't mentioned it already.
I'd like to speculate that guys like Blackbeard have haki, but whatever type they have can't be used to hit DF users like Rayleigh did, but I need to read 18 pages first lest I risk looking like a fool. I think I'll skip anything mentioning Zoro crushing Ms. Monday's head....
Haki speculation is easily the most annoying thing in Arlong Park.
Then I suggest keeping it all in one thread. Keep the poison to one part of the body, so that only it dies and the rest of the organism can go on.
-
Which is likey to happen in the next 10 chapters.
People have been saying that since Motobarou went down.

Yes.

Best types of Haki:
!
And was it ever said that Reileigh was using Haki? For all we know his sword could have been made of seastone. -
@Kairouseki:
And was it ever said that Reileigh was using Haki? For all we know his sword could have been made of seastone.
I doubt his kick was.
It's either Ambition or a DF ability.
-
I seriously hope for a DF ;___;
I don't want Haki to be turned into a preset moveset a lot of guys can have, I like One Piece's originality in the moves and powers.

Your one the spot. We know little to nothing about it and people are making connections to every single thing in One Piece. The only main connection to Haki is Mantra which wasn't fully explained either.
-
Its obviously haki. we know Rayleigh has amazing Haki. But didnt hancock say that only one in a million has it?
-
@Kairouseki:
And was it ever said that Reileigh was using Haki? For all we know his sword could have been made of seastone.
Well, that'd be lame. We know seastone is every DF users weakness–it's the easy answer. If the sword was seastone, what reason would the author have to keep it secret. He even had Brooke ask in from the the audience "how'd he do that?" If it was something we'd already know so much about, something so simple that the author could say it in one mini panel, then he's not creating a decent mystery. For it to be seastone would mean the author is just jerking us around, especially when we know the guy can use haki.
Plus, yeah, the boot can't be seastone so they have to share a common ability. Haki, we know can be imbued onto items. So, sorry, the theory that haki can make people damage logias seems to have a lot of backing behind it, all thanks to Rayleigh. Maybe it'll seem better after it's been around for about as long as, well, whatever time it took you to accept devil fruits.
Oh, and sorry about that brennen.exe. But you know...the execution of that scene was always kind of iffy.
But wow, I'm surprised no one's made the connection between nen and haki...in this thread at least. Just Kabi mentioned Hunterxhunter. Regardless, nen sounds pretty cool. An energy that can be channeled through items and people, and even provide unique abilities depending on the user? I kind of hope haki is like that, yet I also expect Oda to make it unique.

Why can't his boots be made of seastone?

@Kairouseki:
Why can't his boots be made of seastone?
Why would someone wear stone?

Because he wears sandals.

Well the guy above me said boots so that's what I said. And yeah, covered in seastone.

it probably isn't.

@Kairouseki:
Why can't his boots be made of seastone?
Why in the hell would anyone wear seastone boots,sandles or w.e? I think it is pretty clear that it was his use of haki that allowed him to attack Kizaru, much like the amazons can use Haki to make their arrows even stronger
-

Why can't people see it's haki, it makes the most sense to.
-
facepalm Will someome please explain to me why a seastone sword wouldn't SHUT DOWN a sword made of light (Devil's Fruit)? Or why seastone shoes would connect to Kizaru's body but wouldn't stop him from becoming his element? Or hell, why Rayleigh didn't just hold his vast amounts of seastone clothes against Kizaru so Kizaru couldn't, you know, function.

Duh.
Haki. .

People have been saying that since Motobarou went down.
…
No, people have been saying it was haki used against motobaru, not that it was going to be explained. And my rationisations came from the fact that we have never had this level of fighters or all of them in one place, so yes its likely to see some kind of haki being used or explained to further detail, if not now when else would you expect this event to occur?

ahem Let me rephrase: People have been saying that since Motobaro went down.
[hide]But seriously, ever since Motobaro went down people have been saying "what happened will be explained" which then was altered slightly by Rayleigh's use in the auction house, where it was more appropriately named. From there it was "Haki will be explained soon"; this was further pushed when Sentoumaru used something unexplainable to hit Luffy, commenting that it wasn't a Devil's Fruit, and then even more so when Rayleigh, the guy who just showcased this "power" a few chapters prior, stops Kizaru in his tracks. At this point people are screaming for answers and explanation, and low and behold we land on an island full of people who's primary skill is wielding the same damn power. IT WILL TOTALLY BE EXPLAINED HERE!!! Nope. So then we leave for Impel Down where we expect development. Nope. So then Luffy uses it in Level 5, where we are sure there must be some explanation around the corner. Nope. Well now we are going to see a war where surely it will be explained! Ehh, maybe. Given the lack of explanation so far, do you really think a war centered around Whitebeard and the Government is going to stop to explain some mysterious power? Probably not. We might see it used more by Hancock, but that would be the most I expect to see.[/hide]

Seriously? Isn't it obvious? KIZARU has Haki which lowers the power of Rayleigh's seastone thus allowing him to still do those things but still receive damage. It's just about as likely as everything else everyone's attributing to Haki :ermm: . -

If he has access to this great material, why would he wear them on his feet? Why would anyone wear a material harder then diamond on their feet, they hold them their by skimpy sandal bands.
That's as much of a stretch as anything here. A bad stretch, in fact.
-

Brennen speaks the truth in all things… ugh Haki. Why can't people get used to spirit? From a martial arts perspective it makes the most sense.
Any way yes, had Releigh used Sea stone anything, Kizaru's ability would have just shut down when he touched. Why don't people get that?
And yes we were all expecting some explanation every single chapter have Luffy knocked out Montobaru. Then came sentomoru and Releigh, we really thought something was going to get explained there. Especially after Brooke asked right in front of everyone.
Then the snake sisters, and everyone else on that island knowing exactly what this spirit based power is about. Then befriending them all, we thought for sure an explanation was at hand.
The moment one chapter ended, everyone thought the explanation would be just around the corner.

dont forget how whitebeard beats Ace and reads his moves while sleeping

…Alright, so Luffy being hurt by Sentoumaru and then the Amazons didn't happen. The Amazons clearly stating that what they use is haki also didn't happen. BUT! Haki can lower the effective power of seastone. Which I should add that, while never hinted at in even the slightest manner, seems plausible to you. What's next, you can still swim with a Devil's Fruit as long as you "have haki"?
-
Crocodile said that a Logia can be trained to activate instantly. Neither Enel, Ace, or smoker has done so and there is no proof Aokiji has. A logia user can be hurt when they dont see the attack coming and they arent in their full element form.Luffy smashing into Ace and Smoker was an example of that. Also Dark King blocked Kizaru's kick with Haki, thats it.

I was talking about people saying that Zoro defeated Daz Bones using Haki and things like that.

Ehhh…maybe. I'm still hoping we get some sort of explanation for that. But yeah, unfortunately (IMO) it seems likely that is the case. Unless my hopeful theory about his quake fruit turns out to be true.

No he didn't. The rest of your post is null.
@Kairouseki:

No, you were clearly talking about Kizaru and Rayleigh. Thus the reason for your response to me in the first place and your use of "Kizaru" and "Rayleigh" in the sentence I quoted.
