Doing this for the Wikia, but need a little help. This is a rough chart, I'll make it look more professional when I'm done. :-/

ASince not many people talk on the wikia I've come here to ask. Any suggests anyone? Constructive critism oly please, no stupid "You've got it wrong!" because thats going to get you a thick ear FROM ME!

When its done, it should double as a newbies guide to the how the crew get along as well as making the crew easier to understand. I actually got this idea from a chart I saw in the "Legion of Superheroes" comics a decade or so ago that showed who like who in the Legion.

Other alterations I made myself: added the missed out "Choppper goofs with Usopp" and made Luffy's goofing with Usopp two way.

After those last alerations, now the chart need to be widened greatly.

I'm also thinking about adding:

Annoys:
Brook -> Sanji

Discplines:
Nami -> Luffy, Usopp, Chopper, Zoro.
Robin -> Brook, Franky.

Brook also annoys Nami and Franky occasionally.

Maybe the chart would be better if you separated one chart per member. Put the member in the center, the other crewmembers on the edges, and list only the interactions that are important to that central member.

A few I noticed:
Ussop Highly Respects Luffy, as do most if not all of the crew, although they may not always show it, but they always believe that he can come out of the worst alive, in spite of the odds, I'd call that respect.

I'd also say that Zoro and Luffy have a bond as well as Nami and Luffy.

However, I'd think that Zoro and Luffy have one of the biggest bonds. : D I'd think that their bond line should be "Core relationship."

Maybe you could use a broader range of colors for the arrows so they each stand apart more? I know the teal and green keep looking the same to me as I look through it. Just something minor, but other than that, nice effort!

You want my honest opinion on these charts?
They are fancy toys for the hard core fans but to the newcomers they must be totally confusing ^^

The nature and ambivalence of the cross character bonds in the group is not too hard to understand, and you will probably get it faster by just watching / reading One Piece. Besides, anyone that ends up reading Character-Relation-Charts on One Piece Wikia already is a hardcore fan and should know that Sanji flirts with the girls and Nami abuses everone ^^

However that doesn't mean it's no fun to read them. Keep 'em coming.

ANYWAY, this topic isn't about the wikia strickly speaking.

I apologise, I forgot o do the legend for this one.

The legends the same as the last one. This ones a bit tidier, trying to make it more professional. For anyone who hasn't figured out; if there is there is no diamond on the end, its going FROM that character to another. Example: Sanji flirts with Nami, so Nami has a diamond at her end, not Sanji's. If they have a diamond on either end, the relationship is the same both ways.

Not sure if the diamonds make it any easier arrows seem to work bes for thest things.

Luffy plays with everyone, but he does it most consistently with Chopper and Ussop.

Nami beats up everyone except Robin.

Zoro makes fun of Sanji and vice versa.

Chopper believes everything Ussop says.

Luffy and Chopper believe in Sogeking.

Technically, Luffy has a strong bond with everyone because he did something awesome for all of them.

Nami is able to exploit Sanji because he sees himself as a knight who serves the ladies. Particularly Sanji idolizes Nami and Robin.

Chopper idolizes Ussop, although both Chopper and Luffy idolize Sogeking.

beg my pardon but imho you got it wrong. Out of all Crewmembers Zoro is the one with the strongest bond to Luffy, not only in Thriller Bark but also in W7 Zoro was placed as the guardian of Luffys dream.

While e.g. Robin is indebted to Luffy for saving her life, (Sanji),Usopp,Nami,Chopper,Franky for defeating a strong opponent, Zoro was always placed as a partner rather than a crewmember.

I think the key word in the quote I used was, "Newbies," so I wouldn't expect many people getting into the series would start at Thriller Bark.

And even if some people don't end up finding it useful, other people might. So it'll be there for whoever wants to look at it. No use kicking up a fuss.

And I think you best take another look at the chart. Luffy and Zoro are joined by a bold, orange line which represents a strong bond and core relationship.

Neither Luffy or Zoro are linked to anyone else on the chart as such.

Personally, I would simplify it more. If you try and put all the distinguishing characteristics behind each character you are either going to need a huge image to fit all the arrows, or you will have a nice colorful square block of useless. Not to mention that having that many items in the legend to constantly refer to (ie: What was green again??). That many colors and lines, to me, seems somewhat off-putting. Were I you, I would pick out maybe 6 - 8 really bold attitudes / characteristics / emotions / etc. and map those out. This way a noob can see a fairly simple guide to understanding how the crew works, and learn the rest for themselves.

PS - Was it stated or shown that Zoro highly respects Brooke? Either way, though I personally do not see this as very useful, I am sure some people might find it interesting. I am willing to help critique and such, so I hope this helps.

No need to emphasize the obvious, i just used this beginning because i planned to make a quite stupid correlation between gender & charts (which would have needed a perliminary apology)

guess i should have checked the latest chart instead of the wikia, sry - but even so: What sense makes a "bond" line? It is a given that the members of the Strawhat crew have a bond to each other, because this is the core part of the story (shared dreams etc.)

If the chart is really just for newbies i would prefer to skip all "bond" and "strong realationship" lines or even better skip the whole idea of a chart and just write a short preamble/introduction, because it is slightly embarrassing to use a chart to describe something like the personal matters between a 9 person group in a childrens manga. (I'd love to read a nice introduction to One Piece though..)

first off yes the fight would have happened, just because you respect a person doesn't mean you don't have a very different opinion or that you won't get angry and want to fight them. At times you can also lose respect for others and regain it. Maybe it can be said that he lost Usopp's respect at that time, but even then I would say that he had respect for Luffy before the arc ended, and that he has respect for Luffy at current. Captain Usopp is just a part of his lying personality, when Usopp speaks truthfully in alabasta he admits that Luffy is there captian and shows faith in him as a sign of trust. Even when he fights Luffy he says that Luffy is the captain of the ship and that he wants to fight him for it. If he didn't really respect Luffy he'd just have taken it for himself when they abandoned the ship instead of challenging him to a dual.

If you respect someone, then you don't introduce yourself as captain of their ship. also it's one thing questioning a captains position but it's another questioning all of them. all in all i can't be arsed to go into this debate. the personality makeover usopp has had since the fight pretty much proves my point anyway.

Ay, lets say no ones fault. Anyway, to fill this post with something meaningful: Imho Ussopp was introduced as a sensible & shy attention whore, all this hassle about beeing captain, having 8000 followers etc. was to show the world that he was indeed a respectable person, or at least: no a nobody.

He admires Luffy as well as Zoro but is unable to show this because in this case he would admit his own weakness. a truly tragic hero. a japanese manga adaption of HuckFinns "Nigger Jim" {no, i am not a rascist}
