LOST Season 5 *spoilers abound*

Here's hoping that Desmond plays a part in going back to the island, too.

According to Ms. Hawking, the only great thing Desmond will ever do is trigger the fail-safe switch. While that doesn't mean he's exempt from going back (and let's face it, his departure from the show hasn't been announced) he was not one of the original plane survivors which means he stands less a chance of reinacting whatever is necessary to successfully return. Now, Frank is another issue, Frank was SUPPOSED to be on the island but something fucked things up down a chain of events. This led to the change in the pilot, Smokezilla eliminating an entity which was NOT supposed to be there, and Abbadon's insistence that Frank reach the island.

Oh and if you'd like to know what I think Abbadon might be, open this but I have to warn you, I think it's a decent guess so at your own risk.

Maybe I worded that the wrong way. But, I still hope that we get to see more of him. But, like I said, I hope that the writers don't shove him aside for the rest of the series.

And, while I care alot about the loose ends that've been waiting to be tied up since early in the series, I'm still very interested in the newer ones, especially anything involving Richard. Then, there's the whole Jacob and Christian connection that was mentioned in an earlier post.

LOST has 34 episodes left. In those 34 episodes they need to tie up a massive number of mysteries both big and small. By now we've seen they're willing and are GOING to address them. Which is kind of why recently I haven't been excited for LOST because I know it's going to give me those answers and when it does, there's no more mystery.

But that changed with the preview. They're not just going to say, "This is why or how XXXXX.", they're going to create whole NEW scenarios, problems and mysteries along the way. With the already massive load of what they must address, that means each episode SHOULD be mind-blowing. Last season was decidedly unremarkable in that overall, it played out how we expected it to. Kind of like Robin's past. We all knew it was going to be horrific and when it finally happened, to me, it was kinda like, "Well okay, that was neat…but kinda what I expected..." But this season has the potential to blow everything out of the water with a lightning pace. I'm psyched.

It's not that I don't like the new direction Lost is going in for this season. I wouldn't be lying if I said I'll like whatever Darlton decides to do. I see what you're saying that we know that they'll be addressing the unsolved mysteries. But, we dont' know exactly how they'll do it yet. That's why I'm excited.

I meant to say the very culmination of everything that mankind as ever strived for, in fact the sole thing that mankind's 10 million year old history has accumulated as it's defining product, which, if I have to wait even a second longer than I should for, my heart will explode out of my chest.
