2 hours…too long...
I know, it's never too soon. 1 hour and 45 minutes now. At least we're getting closer.
And now we're even closer
And now we're even closer
And now we're even closer
And now we're closer still.
-
Closer still .

Well, my terrible attempt at honoring both Greg and my man Frank Lapidus:
If anybody can make a much purddier version (it's from 4.13) be my guest.
-
Well, this episode gives us even more reason to ask "What the hell is going on?!"
! Richard is the leader of those soldiers?! And now there's a bomb involved?
Edit: And even more reason. I seriously couldn't believe what I heard when we found out that..
! Widmore used to be one of the Others!
-
Holy Schnaps!
! Young Widmore on the Island!
-
Yeah this episode was crazy and is starting to bring the circle around.
-
Perfect Episode, which gave us many new clues.
So, does anybody have an idea of who Faradays mother could be?
How about! Ms. Hawking
If, that's the case, it would be a great opportunity to unite Desmond with Ben and all the others, to go back to the Island. But that's just my silly speculation. -

Yeah, I think they pretty heavily suggested that.
Also, there's some speculation about this character that
! Ellie, the blond Other with the gun who held Faraday at gunpoint during the episode, is also Ms. Hawking, since Ms. Hawking's first name is Eloise, it's fifty years ago so the ages match up, Faraday recognizes her, same manner of speaking, same sort of round face, and so on.
! The speculation can also be extended to Faraday being the son of Hawkings and Widmore, but obviously there's a lot less support for that.
God this was a great episode. -
The guys at the Lostpedia forums are bringing up some interesting topics about the recent episode that could solve some unknown mysteries that've been hanging around for awhile. After reading them, I've gotta say that they make alot of sense.
! The H-bomb's leak could very well be the reason why pregnant women on the island keep dying. Plus, it could tie into the Swan.
-

! Maybe the buried bomb really is the reason for the magnetism.
I'm just really hoping that at some point we'll see Radzinsky's flashback. Who he really was and what was the deal with the map he drew on the blastdoor.
-
Long post deleted by dropped connection.
Points:
1. Widmore being that LOW in the Others shocked the shit out of me.
2. 'Cabin Fever' makes COMPLETE sense and it's even better that we see EVEN FUCKING RICHARD was in the dark about Locke. THAT'S what happens when you make your story from the back forwards.
3. Bomb = awesome new tension
4. Gonna laugh my balls off is Radizjjafsgkjadg (sp) ends up being Sawyer.

Greg, care to explain that?…
Sadly I don't remember the old episodes that well..... -
The guy who was in the hatch with Kelvin. I always forget how to spell his name. I'd love it if he turned out to be someone we knew all along.
-

Would you care to share your theory on this? O.o Well, how does it make sense to you? (I'm not arguing, it DOESN'T make sense, but I'm just curious ^^ Spoiler-tags?)
Just a little theory of mine…
Episode 5x01, in the beginning... Shredders (Geek-joke) baby, they are showing. How about Miles? There is never shown anything without a reason, in Lost. So, why would they suddenly be showing us a little baby, we never knew existed? Simply thinking about that... -

What's there not to get? A big mystery about "Cabin Fever" was why the hell Alpert showed up when Locke was born and why he showed them those objects. Then in this episode Locke told Alpert what day he was born and showed him the compass, since that's now obviously what Locke was supposed to pick as a child but didn't, confusing the hell out of Alpert, so now that mystery is all cleared up.

Ahhh, okay, totally forgot this particular scene happened in Cabin Fever, that's all. But still thanks. ^^

Exactly Mumbo.
God it's so great to see a story with balls like LOST going mainstream in the 'West'.
I'm not usually a fan of Sci-Fi. I suppose that's odd coming from someone who loves cyber & steam-punk anime. But most of the time I can't stand shit being explained as FUCKIN' STRANGE because it's either just in the future or that's, 'just how it is'.
People are raving about Battlestar Gallactica. It could be the most AWESOME SHOW EVER. But…when your playing field is THE UNIVERSE AS WE KNOW IT, you can pretty much do whatever the FUCK you want and explain it as, 'because it's the universe'.
I think it's far more difficult to try and tell a SF story NOW on earth that doesn't instantly involve aliens coming down to earth and invading, shape-shifting, etc. Our four-toed friends or Richard and his people (if they're different groups that is) MAY be aliens, but they could easily just as well be religious figures as well, the point is, that's not the FOCUS of the story. Do we want to know? Yes. But we're not being told flat-out and we know we're not going to find out anytime soon. This is why the journey is just as fun as the pay-off.
LOST is Sci-Fi for Sci-Fi haters. With its one foot solidly planted in our world THAT'S what makes it most surprising.

I know the answer to the Radzinsky thing so I'll triple spoiler it for people who care:
! >! >! It's not Sawyer. I saw a picture of the actor who plays him and it's someone new. Also, on the hatch door he wrote that there was something wrong with Kelvin so there may have been more to the hatch story then we have heard
I just thought of something (in regards to the statue). Perhaps we may learn what the statue is of when we finally see the temple (if we ever…considering all the time shifts going on)?
-
regarding the toe… I JUST READ THE BEST THEORY EVAR!!!!!
It's only a theory but I'm spoilering it.
! Others - More Oldskool Than Ever Before Latin? If we ever needed an indication as to how long the Others have been around, the fact they're speaking such a dead language is a good indication they've existed since the 4-toed statue. At this point I'd like to give a shoutout to Hastenfist, who in the comments last week pointed out the quick, innocent scene where Sawyer stepped on something in the jungle. Some infection, a toe amputation, and a couple of time-skips later, Hastenfist theorized that maybe the statue itself would turn out to be a monument of Sawyer, built in tribute to him for something he does wayyyy in the past. Awesome idea, and I love it!

Good one, man, I don't believe these guys pay attention to every single detail (and I'm talking about both the writers and the viewers)
About the ?Radzinsky? thing, I really don't see any of the main cast living in the hatch like Kevin used to live, after all, they all know they don't exactly need to press the buttons…
-
Sawyer couldn't even spell Radinzky. Could he?
-
I just remembered there are Lost novels. Has anyone of you read them?
-
they all know they don't exactly need to press the buttons…
Erm, yes they do ^^; Pushing the button was ri-fucking-diculously important ^^;
-
I just remembered there are Lost novels. Has anyone of you read them?
They don't have anything to do with the show and the main character is some redshirt.
-
Okay, guys…
I've thought about Radzynski being someone of the Losties, and there are important clues, most probably he isn't one of them. (I did not read RuNa's spoiler, so I have no idea, who he "really" IS or whatever was in there.)
First and most important one:
The map he made is mostly commented in LATIN!! So, if Sawyer doesn't suddenly learn Latin, during this season, he most probably isn't Radzynski. And the map contains information about Smokey ("Cerberus", anybody? a.s.o.), so there's also still an large amount of information to be filled up.
BUT, we DO know, who speaks Latin, don't we?
Okay, so it will most probably be one of the Others, OR even Faraday, since I think he knows a farily great amount of stuff about the Island AND I think he's capable of speaking Latin, isn't he?
But, there's still one thing on my mind... Did Kelvin ever reffer to Radzynski as a HIM? Did he, or didn't he? I have no idea, that's why I'm asking. If he did NOT, the possibility of "him" being Julliett arises.
Just my two cents on this. -
Hmmm, people are taking my comment a little too seriously. I don't think Rahfsiufgoleuf is Sawyer, I just think it'd be hilarious if he was and he ended up as a spot on the wall.
-
Watching the Saeson 4 DVD special features last night made me think of something (the fake "oceanic 6 is a HOAX" special was a riot!) Who the hell was piloting the Dharma food drop plane? If the friegher people went to so much effort to get near the island and then board it, who the hell still knew the location of the island and still thinks Dharma is going on?
I totally called the name of Desmond's kid as soon as they mentioned it was a "he" ^__^
-
Maybe the helicopter is dislodged in time and it constantly bringing the same food to the island?
-
I like the ava Yuugi. He looks batshit insane in that screen cap.
-
Wee, I just ordered DVD box sets of first two seasons! 30 euros well spent. Now I can force my friends to watch the show. You know, spread the gospel. They cannot escape the inevitable. They cannot make more pity excuses no more. Bwa ha ha~~
Yeah.
-
I like the ava Yuugi. He looks batshit insane in that screen cap.
Ah, thank you very much. I knew the second I saw it while rewatching the episode you'd go nutso if I used it. Or something like that…
-
Just caught up, too many damn theories that I'm too lazy to read.
Still…the whole time travel thing could explain Desmond's belief and disbelief in the Button...or whatever that contradiction was that I believe Greg would remember it like his AP username here :VOne thing that still annoys me about the show is how they sometimes NEVER say some info straight to your face, like in Ep. 1 when Dan was trying to explain that time travel is WTF is going on the island to Sawyer.
Next ep. should be about the Oceanic Six right? For some reason I like their part in the story a lot more than the island
Oh and Hurley telling Ben "Never, dude" is the most badass thing he's said to date, heck what am I saying most of what Hurely says is badassHere's hoping Hurley's parents, Rose and Bernard don't die
Also...at the end of Ep. 3....when the time travel occured at the end why were Dan and co. very close to the camp? Shouldn't he be like a 5-10 min walk away from them?
EDIT!!!!!!!!!
BTW in Ep. 2 why was the old woman wearing a robe like uh...a cultist when she was pinpointing the location of the island?
I speculate that Daniel's mother is! the woman Ben meets at the end of Ep. 2
Oh and what're your takes on the 70 hours thing? Assuming 2 hours had already passed by the time Ben went to her, what does that have to do with the island's location?
EDIT2!!!!!!
Oh and I think Miles is! related to the scientist you see in all the Dharma Orientation videos
-
Ah, the big contradiction? Desmond shooting up drugs AND taking them with him despite later telling the group that there is no sickness.
To me, that's the biggest storyline snafu in the series. It makes ZERO sense.
The second biggest is Desmond running off despite knowing he has the failsafe key. But one could chalk that up to him being unprepared to take such a drastic step.
The biggest prop goof though is that Charlie would never have freaking died what with the position of the hole but oh well.
-
So could the time traveling effect have something to do with that?
Way I see it one could just chalk it up to the writers just throwing out random BS without having any idea of how to reconcile them later on. -
One thing that still annoys me about the show is how they sometimes NEVER say some info straight to your face
That's what this show is all about. Stuff happens, you go "huh?" and then the makers of the show goes "ha ha, got ya! got ya!" because you haven't been told the hows and whys and what fors. And you love it.
But look what the mail brought in! My Lost DVDs. I have been laughing at this whole day long.
!
A puppy face Sawyer. Look how cute he is.
-

That's exactly what it is. Hence plot hole. And since there are so few (as LOST was conceived of much like OP from the back forward) when they pop up, they really stick out and are painful. But Jesus Christ, at least they are as gut-wrenchingly AWFUL as the plot holes in almost every other drama in TV.
Fun Fact Flash-Forwards were intended to be done since between Seasons 1 & 2. Can you imagine holding back shooting that load for almost 2 years?

We've got a double dosage of "Oh, fuck!" before the commercial break!
You wouldn't believe the look on my face when I saw
! Rousseau's team, and them finding Jin!
Edit:
I wonder how Greg's gonna feel now that his theory about…
! Rousseau being Annie from Ben's flashback
being disproved with what we've seen in tonight's episode? Or at least, we can assume that it isn't true for the time being.
-

Umm I was mostly referring to the characters interacting with one another, Dan could've just said it was time travel without the reference to the track record, I mean heck at this day and age, some viewers wouldn't know what a track recorder is, or maybe forget what it is even if it was shown in the show
-
ahem HOLY-SANTA-CLAUSE-SHIT
-
Truth be told the TWO thing that really mindfucked me about this ep. were-
! Jin being alive
Jin getting Batman-ed…I mean totally displaced in time, why was he sent back years into the past? ...and why didn't Daniel recognize him years later?
EDIT: Maybe she DID recognize him, but wouldn't be able to explain how she had met him years ago!
Also Ben wanting Aaron...I kinda felt that he was the client on an on-off feel
One thing still confuses me though; whose side is Saeed on? First he doesn't want Hurley nor himself to help Ben, then he is calmly going with Ben and Jack.
! ...oh and doesn't Jack feel like his role in this season toned down?
! Sawyer had some kickass lines this ep.:
Time Travel starts to occur
"THANK YOU, LORD!"
White flash, it is raining heavily
"I take that back"
! "Time traveling's a bitch"EDIT: ZOMG I COULD BE RIGHT!
! Miles could be the son or grandson of the Namaste dude, explaining that he had lived on the island years before!
Oh and Jacob and Walt
! are time traveling, that could explain why Walt would randomly appear in various locations in previous seasons, same goes with Jacob
Also Charollete could be
! The girl Ana Lucia promised to take back home from the island
Yeah sorry about all this, but this ep. just had me on a roll XD -
Miles…
! could be the son or grandson of the Namaste dude, explaining that he had lived on the island years before!
! Don't forget the asian baby at start of season!
-
Oh and Jacob and Walt
! are time traveling, that could explain why Walt would randomly appear in various locations in previous seasons, same goes with Jacob
I was thinking that the entire episode.
! Both Jin and Sun better survive this whole thing, I wanna see another touching reunion, maybe one that can top Penny/Desmond
-
Oh yeah speaking of Adam and Eve-
! IMO they are Bernard and Rose
-

And, he we are again on the 2nd greatest time of the week! (Sorry, One Piece takes the #1 spot)
! Rousseau's past finally being told was very satisfying. So, we know that she wasn't delusional. I just hope we see Ben taking Alex from her.
-
The preview for next weeks episode looks absolutely amazing.
-
I loved seeing Ben lose his cool for a second there. Highlight of the ep for me.
