How so, Snowmint? They all looked to be from Alabasta. :\

But they were new bumpers.
It's just that Toonami (these days) barely used new episode footage. Even with Naruto.

True. From the ten year point to it's end two weeks ago, Toonami used those same Naruto VS Gaara clips for almost every Naruto bump.
And I never even saw the TOM bump where he describes One Piece as a life show when it was on Toonami. Did that even get a chance to air in TV or was One Piece pulled right after making those bumps?
-
^ Iremember I saw a few( or one) times. "A life show" he says, while that is a good comment to make, it was a bad thing that came true ( One Piece and Toonami "life" ending this year)
I saw on CN.com that Naruto now only shows 1 ep a week and on Adult Swim( I guess they moved it for Shippuuden), however, dont qoute me, but I swear it said 1:00 AM on Oct. 4. for a second showing on AS. And MAYBE OP will get on there, and in uncut form, I mean, there's really nothing bad if OPgoes on AS standards, right? All(however few) anime is uncut anyway on AS.
BTW, I remember where I saw this, it was Cartoon Network West, its not a rerun, but it basically does come on on AS. It's before Bleach. It comes on at 12:30 AM in my TZ.
They mustve had plans to show more but something mustve happen for them to stop. Those cost money to make.
I was thinking that too, maybe Funi didn't lie about the ratings, cause I see not why it ended this way.
-
FUNimation definitely didn't lie about the ratings, they just had a different side to the story. Cartoon Network says low ratings, while FUNimation and Toei Animation say that it didn't meet expectations. The most revealing truth I heard from a FUNimation rep is that Cartoon Network expected the show to start doing much better right when the FUNimation dub started, but, as even many optimistic fans such as myself expected, that didn't happen. And really is makes sense, anyone can see how impatient Cartoon Network is with ratings when you see how spastically they can change their schedules sometimes.

Nickelodeon v. 2.1

I was doing the math in my head. We'd have just finished Skypiea if OP were still on. I know for sure the best part of Skypiea was Episode 170+. I am almost certain OP would be at Naruto levels or at least 60% of that if CN just gave OP until 195 or even 206.

You know, I just wanted to say, that I think I came to the realization today that I have faith that "One Piece" will come back to T.V. Someday, somehow, one way or the other, sooner or later, I have faith that "One Piece" will make its way back to North American T.V. I decided that a while ago, but I think listening to the new "One Piece" opening theme made me realize it.
-
Is there any basis on that? You know what blind optimism does…

We Are! is just a happy, up-beat song that brightens your day no matter what the circumstances. It's the kinda song that makes you believe anything. Even the impossible. (In a good way of course) I know that it has that effect on me anyway, no matter what version I listen to. (I've got 10 versions on my iPod, not counting 'We Did It! Party!' (Happy BGM) and 'More and More the Adventure Still Continues' (Preview BGM). I also have 'Mother Sea' but it's not a very happy version.)
-
Nice Insperation we all believe that
-

he pretty much said there was no basis. But blind optimism isn't necessarily a bad thing. It's very possible if the DVD sales do good enough. I doubt on CN, but some channel…
-
It may happen in time. But at this point, with all that's been happening I wouldn't get my hopes up.
The DVDs are just fine as long as they keep coming.

One Piece will find its way to TV, as long as DVD sales stay up, although they are probably heading down a downward spiral, sadly. :(

One Piece will find its way to TV, as long as DVD sales stay up, although they are probably heading down a downward spiral, sadly. :(
And you base this on what?
-
I don't know what you would call it, but its the theory that the following installment will sell less than the predecessor.
In example, First Voyage was bought by 90% of the OP fanbase (just an example, not true numbers). 10% of those who bought FV were not satisfied, so only 90% of those who bought the First will buy the Second. Now the other 10% of the fanbase MIGHT buy SV, but will probably want to buy FV first, but there ARE EXCEPTIONS.
Therefore, by this logic, every set will sell LESS than the set before it. Now this might not be entirely true, (i.e. more people might hold out until Arlong or Alabasta, etc. until they start buying the sets) Sorry, if this is confusing -_-
-
No, it makes sense, but in the long run, the sales will probably remain high, although not necessarily as high as First Voyage, since that was the first and a lot of people will probably not buy future sets. It has to be that way for any series, or nothing, even the most popular of series would stop selling well at a certain point. That doesn't usually happen though, because in the long run, sales remain strong.
-
Well, of course they will stay high, but they will most likely NOT be better than the predecessors. This'll be another example:
OPFV's first week:
FV: 100,000
Second Voyage's first week, with say 20,000 more copies of FV bought beforehand.
FV: 120,000
SV: 96,000TV's first release, with 6,000 more of FV and 12,000 more for SV
FV: 126,000
SV: 108,000
TV: 88,000Well, obviously, these aren't accurate numbers, but first week sales will generally be lower each time, although sales will still climb for each set, it'll be less and less each time, but probably not enough to the point of cancellation. But, you never know. Besides, series like Family Guy and other American series don't have this problem because the episodes are mostly stand-alone.
-
Is there any basis on that? You know what blind optimism does…
No, even if it doesn't happen I won't be disappointed.
-
All right. I've spent plenty of time in the naughty corner since I left. So, I have returned to see what's happned.
….blind optimism?
RomanGod, now you are just plain annoying. Even if the Toonami block is gone, One Piece should stay strong.
-
If the person at whom that comment was aimed was not annoyed by it, I don't see why you should be. Besides, it's not as if we appear to be close at all to One Piece being back on tv, so it wasn't particularly inaccurate.
-
Well, you are right Darkstorm.
I take the comment back, but still, I don't think 'blind opmitism' isn't a good coment.
-
It's true, in and of itself, "blind optimism" is often slightly insulting, but the way it which it was used "You know what blind optimism does…", is more of a warning then an insult.
-
Really, if you want One piece back on CN, try this…
Send a well though-out letter to Cartoon Network on why you want the show back.
The clock is ticking and this might be our final chance to try to get it back on the air.If several of us, send letters to CN, we can hopefully get them to reconsider.
It's better than sitting around hoping, at least your oding something to help.
-
ill try that i will do anything at this point
-
Letters may work, but hasn't that been tried since it was taken off in March? Anway, I feel that some of the only reasons One Piece may come back eventually is that: 1.) The DVDs are doing fairly well, without that much advertisement…and if a show that CN once had does good outside being shown on there network, they'll maybe bring it back; 2.) Similar to the case w/ 4kids' OP, Australia aired more episodes there than here and we eventually got them (perhaps the whole "CN ran out of episodes" excuse was real and it's only a matter of time), so maybe, once/if CN gets more episodes, they'll show those extra 2 eps along with the newer eps; 3.) There's only so much more stuff that CN can air (OP is still going and going strong...story-wise and action-wise, so putting it up is almost a no-brainer...but then again..."no-brainer" pretty much describes how CN has been since taking OP off), but one can always hope. Meh, as long as the DVDs still come out and at a slightly faster rate, I, along with some of the other members here, will be happy. ^^
-
I don't see how letters will help, this isn't 20 years ago. The only way that'd happen is if it was on a huge scale, and there's nowhere near enough One Piece fans in the US for that.

It's better than nothing.
-
Well, One Piece is now "officially" no longer on Jetstream. They removed its page (what could that mean?)

That the new shows coming up on Jetstream does not include One Piece. -_-
Bastards.
-
But still, OP at least had a page, even if it only contained the interview with Clinkenbeard.
Also, FUNi has two new ways to watch anime, maybe we'll see OP on those?
-
Tch… At this point I guess it's the only option. >_>
-
Still better than only Dvds. Now will you stop that negativity? It's getting really friggin' annoying. Seriously, whatever credibility you used to have is now thrown out the window. Now if you're so damn upset about CN dropping One Piece, do something about it. ANYTHING but whining all the time.
Seriously, a thirteen year old lecturing a 20something year old about internet behavior is ridiculous.
Sorry if this was rude, but I had to get it off my chest. -
@Mr.:

Exactly. It is.
So don't do it.

He has as much a right to express his opinion as you do. You're the one who's being rude here, and he's just telling it like it is.

I actually think Roman is behaving better recently than he has in the past.
-
Indeed. I doubt he cares though, 90% of Walrusguy's posts are just attacks on Roman.

He's still posting crap? Good grief… :getlost:
-
Indeed. I'm half tempted to put him on ignore myself.
-
I don't care what CN does with One Piece, as long I have Uncut One Piece DVD's and Manga. At first, I was kinda mad about One Piece's removal, but got used to it. To me, the Uncut DVD is the official dub.
-
I wrote this to CN in their feedback session. Doubt it will do much good, but at least I tried:
Hello, my name is Alex and I am a huge fan of the anime One Piece. I would like to request, not only on my behalf, but on the behalf of thousands of One Piece fans across the country, that you consider returning One Piece to the schedule. It is my belief that ratings have nowhere to go but up. When the current license holders got the license, the episodes that aired were, in many fan's opinions, the weakest portion of the current storyline. My proposition is that you consider airing the remaining 39 episodes of the season. The series was only beginning to enter the most action-packed segment of the season. And I firmly believe that millions of new fans will probably tune in as well.
It is a fact that the current villain, Eneru, is extremely likable, and the fact of the matter is that many new fans will likely think the same, thus earning you more ratings.
I merely request that you give One Piece, Japan's most popular anime, the second chance it deserves. Thank you for your time.Looking back on it, it sucks, but still, at least I tried.

New One Piece is coming to CartoonNetwork here in Australia next month. Sorry if someone has already said this.

link/proof plz kthx
and yes Roman has been acting much better and I'm glad. Honestly I was all set to write an ED page about him just to get him to stop but I'm glad I didn't. I just wish he'd stop with this "kiddie" stuff.

If that's true, perhaps that means America will get "One Piece" back on T.V. as well.
-
I can't find anything on the AU CN website but their schedule only goes up to the end of the month. I'm not getting my hopes up, but it sure would be nice.
-
I don't have a link for proof but it was on the ad for their November lineup. I think that's some damn good proof.
