OK, I have a few things I wish to add, even if they have been added already.
1. One Piece is not Sci-Fi and should not be put on to the Sci-Fi Network. Gurrenlagann works because robots are Sci-Fi and going into space is also Sci-Fi. Pirates are not Sci-Fi. The closest thins being Sci-Fi like in One Piece are Franky and Kuma.
2. Nicktoons network does not show Anime. If someone can show me otherwise I would like to see, but to this point I have not seen anything about Nicktoons Network being intrested in showing actual Anime. Any action adventure shows on there that i know about have been American made, but I don't have the channel so I would not know anything recent that has gotten put on there. So if you are going to say that the Nicktoons Network is a place for it to air can you please show me some sort of evidence that the network has any sort of plan to air any actual Anime?
3. Disney XD seems like it could be a place it could be shown, but it is obvious it will be edited. To what degree i am not sure as I have never gotten to see what Anime shown on there is like, but the obvious still is probably true. No blood, no cursing, and not extreme violence. Or nothing imatatable I would guess.
That's pretty much all I have to add. I would say if anywhere Toonami would be the best place but apparently that's close to impossible now, so Disney XD seems the only other place it could go to me.
Nicktoons Network has shown anime, they showed the "Ape Escape" shorts that were originally exclusive to the Japanese "Ape Escape" website, with an English dub and everything. And what does not showing any interest in actual anime have to do with the chances of "One Piece" getting on Nicktoons Network or not? "One Piece" is a cartoon, it fits the core demographic of Nicktoons Network (6-14 year-old boys), there's a rumor that the channel is interested in airing the show, it seems logical to me. So far the only "lack of interest" they've shown in not airing full Japanese series is not actually airing any, that's not really any grounds to doubt they wouldn't be interested. The only thing that would stop them from picking it up is the continued talks between Toei Animation and Cartoon Network and content that could be seen as edgy for what the Nick brand is known for.
If "One Piece" is aired on a mainstream youth-oriented outlet it'll be edited no matter what, that's a given, there's no point in bringing that up. If it would need to be edited to the point where it changes the actual story than that's a problem. If anything "One Piece" would probably have more freedom on Nicktoons than Disney XD, though I don't know how much the content standards would change once Toon Disney makes that transition. It's also good to note that Toei Animation already has a relationship with Disney, what with them airing "Shinzo", "Digimon", and the "Robodz" co-production.
