I see, thanks for the correction. Wonder when we'll get an actual schedule. Well it'll have to be less than two weeks..
Funi TV Discussion (Saturday Night/Sunday Morning 1:00 a.m., USA Toonami)

The Adult Swim Upfront is next week (either the 14th or 16th). We'll most likely hear something then, I think.
-
I still think those three slots are just new shows that aren't necessarily related to the return of Toonami. I'm thinking anime that were acquired before we could see a proposed relaunch of Toonami as a result of April Fools reaction. Then again maybe those three slots do pertain to Toonami, but if that's the case I'm thinking they're "sneak peek" slots. I mean wouldn't an actual Toonami relaunch actually be more ambitious than just some mysterious schedule?
-
I'm not saying it't Toonami either; I'm just saying that we have a chance of clearing this up next week at the Upfront.
-

No no I got that, my comment wasn't related to the mentioning of the Upfront.
On that note, it's tough to say really. I mean yes it would be a perfect time to say, "Yes, we're in the early stages of bringing it back", but I wouldn't expect anything substantial. I mean they usually don't announce anything at their upfronts right?
But yes besides Toonami I'm sure we'll get the timeslot thing cleared up next week. Maybe.
-
Toonami is back. Hope one piece can land back on it.

Don't take this the wrong way Firecrouch but I'm really glad you ended up being wrong about this.
Now's the time to push for One Piece on Toonami. That's an initiative that I think can really go somewhere with the Podcast's support.

Who what where when how why?
Sorry I got distracted from utter reality being enhanced.

Welp, thank god I've developed a taste for felt and mercury because it looks like I'll have to eat another hat on this forum.

I just did a God damn backflip. Ohhhohoho so sweet!!!

The only thing that really does worry me is if they start airing OP from the very beginning. That's years worth of episodes, and I don't really think the show would gather a big enough casual watchers to keep it on air. And look. I don't really think showing a later season isn't going to alienate as much… Well, atleast in this generation of entertainment. It's really all about making the information of everything that has happened before available. Be it a through brief summary in a bumper or internet(or maybe advertising the manga). The show does have enough qualities that can make a casual watcher interested in events that has happened before, and well.... arcs usually have centric stories or themes that could "wow" someone into watching. Just my opinion.
If OP does air and it airs from the beginning, you can say I would not really care about its fate on television anymore.
-
Okay, sorry, totally uncalled for.Sorry.
But whatever happens, please support your favorite anime of your choice on Toonami.
-
"If OP does air and it airs from the beginning, you can say I would not really care about its fate on television anymore."
And you can say we dont give a rat's ass about what you do or dont do.
The guys just making some valid points, calm down (assuming your serious)
-
And you can say we dont give a rat's ass about what you do or dont do.
Oh?
Alright then.
If that's a civil way of putting it.edit: But to be fair, I don't really think you have any right to speak for anyone.
-

Im calm. It did come harsher than I intended, sorry.
EDIT: Edited the other message to be less agressive.

One Piece on Toonami would be great. But reality is a b, isn't it? Considering the giant backlog of episodes, the only way this would work is if One Piece aired nightly. And Toonami's only on Saturday nights. It's such an insane long shot, but might as well ask anyway. There's nothing to lose here by asking.
-
ONE PIECE be back on cartoony network
-
I'd just be happy if they even air One Piece. I won't be picky. I just want them to air it.
-
Well 'the impossible' has, in fact, happened. Or at least I would have been one who would have claimed this to be impossible before April 1st this year.
I really hope we do get One Piece back, but I'm confused as to what this 'Toonami' will even be. What we do know is that it will be a Adult Swim block and that "previous series featured in Toonami" will be returning, along with new anime. So I really hope that can include One Piece. People on other forums are thinking that since it is an Adult Swim block, One Piece might be "too kiddy". =/ Although, Dragon Ball Z and Bleach are also Shonen Jump series that are also aimed towards kids, the sad truth is that One Piece is likely still perceived to be 'kiddy' by the average Toonami watcher due to the 4Kids mess.
Still, what's the point in bringing back Toonami if it's just going to be Adult Swim with a different name? So there has to be some meaningful difference, and One Piece is pretty much perfect for an Toonami block that can be uncut/less cut.
-
No worries! That's why funimation filled the dub with delightful words such as Bitch,Bastard and so on.
-
Guys, this just in: http://www.facebook.com/FUNimation?ref=ts
So, Toonami's coming back on 5/26. What shows do you think Cartoon Network/Adult Swim should add to the block?
Get on there and tell 'em you want One Piece (and anything else you might want on there)
-
I said it on Twitter and Face Book. It's time to start the #BringBackOnePiece campaign!

omigawd…yes, yes. :U
Also, we should start showing this around again and getting alot more signatures: [http://www.petitiononline.com/opontv/petition.html
….Er no. Petitions never work for these things.
Y](http://www.petitiononline.com/opontv/petition.html)eah, you're probably right. The twitter thing is still a great idea though.

Yeah.
Twitter saved Toonami!

This post is deleted!

To sum up: no OP yet, but it's a show DeMarco would like to have on there again. Also, they're really on a shoestring budget this time, so if they want more money to get more shows and more TOM animation, it needs great ratings. Those with Nielson boxes, you know what you must do.

where do i buy a nelson box

I don't think you buy one, you are selected to receive one..

How would one even know they have it?

I don't think you're supposed to. The point of the exercise is to collect random samplings.
-
but i want ONE PIECE to do well.
-
but i want ONE PIECE to do well.
It's not on TV so it's irrelevant. Just buy all the Voyages if you haven't already and tell Adult Swim to #GivePieceAChance and that you want One Piece on Toonami.
-
i buy the DVDs when they come out. bt i don't have TWITTER
-
then the best you can do is watch toonami and use facebook if you have it.

Actually I read they randomly select people's households to call and request adding the Nielson box in after taking a brief survey or something.
The people who have 'em know that they have it.

That is correct, back in summer 2003 I was call by phone and ask if I would like to be a Nielson viewer for a few months, I answered a brief survey got all the paperwork in the following weeks and just watch tv and reported it back to them, It was only for two months and they did pay me for my time.
Before anyone rushes to buy that yacht, they paid me like $40 USD, which for an Unemployed recently graduated teen was awesome, it was fast food and comic book money. In closing, yeah it's random I don't think you JUST be one, it's one of those THEY call you, You don't Call them deals.

They do it two ways. The temporary one is the survey for a few months. The more permanent review system is the Neilson Box, given to random households. It uses the phone or cable line to communicate data minute by minute. That too people are aware of.
There are also reports that they can gather data through your DVR box if you have one.

I really hope this were the case, and if not, they really should do this so they can get more accurate data on who views what.

Really? I'd imagine they'd have to receive some kind of permission before sapping viewing information from people's TVs.
If not the people with DVRs watching Cinemax past midnight may feel just a bit awkward knowing that.

There's a popular search engine out there guilty of the same thing.

How do the ratings box's work anyway, like if you are just flipping through channels do those count as views? Or must you watch a program for a full 30 minutes count as a rating?
-

It follows you on a minute-by-minute basis, so it will count channel surfing (but I don't think the Neilson board will).
Also, it seems Jason DeMarco was asked which shows were requested the most for Toonami. His response was DBZ, Naruto, One Piece and InuYasha. Thought that might be a promising sign for #GivePieceAChance, especially since two of those are locked up in licensing limbo.

that is a good sign.
checking the adultswim/toonami boards and there is alot of one piece hate and bleach wank.
i really wish bleach would get taken off. -
Really? I'd want it to stay on because of it's (assumed by me) high ratings. That'll be good for Toonami.

i really wish bleach would get taken off.Tch, what do they know? One Piece is the one that still has an on-going anime.
Granted, most of those fans probably don't know that Bleach was cancelled but they'll eventually find out. Years from now since they're airing Episode 255 tomorrow. -

its attitude like this that will kill toonami.
