Well let's see if we can actually carry some kind of conversation regarding music.
Anyway, I was given all of his albums a month and a half ago by one of my friends and I've come to love his work. He's got some misses here and there (techno mix of Let's Dance and Buddas of Suburbia, to name a few), but most of his stuff is GOLD.
Not sure which album is my favorite, but "Heroes" is pretty high up there. The song is definately one of my favorites, next to
and .Probably one of the few artists around who can actually stand firm on the pedestal he's put upon.
I've always loved his career in the 80's since I was a kid, (yes, Labyrinth played a part in that.) but his earlier works definitely blow it out of the water.
Rebel Rebel, Space Oddity, Life on Mars, and anything of the like are all wonderfully structured, and anyone should be happy to have them ingrained into their minds.
That said, _Life on Mars ,_and the entire Hunky Dory album for that matter,are required listening for any individual.

I remember hearing of that show, but nothing about it. Heh, maybe I should watch an episode of it sometime.
The only things I know about David Bowie is that he sung Magic Dance and that he appeared in the Venture Bros. (well, not really, but still). And for that I adore him.
Anyway, I was entertaining the idea of creating an all-encompassing "favorite band/singer thread. So does anyone mind if we just change this thread into…well...that?

I admit my knowledge of David Bowie doesn't go much farther beyond Labyrinth, but I loved his cameo in Zoolander. The man knows how to pick movies.

He's probably one of the easiest artists to jump into and have an immense appreciation for regardless of where you start in his career. As long as you have the desire, the last thing it should feel like is an uphill ordeal.
On another note, his Zoolander cameo was indeed incredible.

BERLIN TRILOGY is my favorite work by him: "heroes," Lodger, and Low, the best of which is the latter
most other things are good as well, there a few albums which suck terribly, but other than those few everything rocks pretty hard
David Bowie is one of those artists that I've liked just about every song I've ever heard but I've never owned any CDs. Maybe I'll check out Mr. All Sunday's faves since I like his taste in music generally :3
