Cool chapter again!!!
-
"Next issue: The author will be taking a break to gather new materials."
yes, kishi, you better do so, because world domination is lame.
-
That would be an awesome fucking comic.
Just volume after volume of the Akatsuki working in stuffy offices and casting jutsu's on broken coffe machines….
It would be a better world...You know looking over the latest chapter, that's pretty much what's happening…well OK, minus the office, but I think somehow that Akatsuki wants to be the "Wal-Mart" of ninjas. And as I think about it...I find it so ridiculously hilarious.
-
This chapter reminded me how neat Kakashi is.
Anyway, change of theory. AL is Naruto's twin brother, who got separated at birth.
-
where can i download the new chapter?
-
If AL is related to anybody it must be Kurenai, I don't see why Naruto's father/brother/cousin whatever would have teh spiral eyes.
-
The background on the last page is cool… but usually it's the assistants' job to draw backgrounds. :(
Well Kishi might be responsible for design, but I won't be surprised if the one good thing in this chapter is NOT made by Kishi XD -
Okay, I actually do like Akatsuki's plan. Not the world domination part, the mercanary monopoly part.
-
What are you talking about AL is Naruto he's just faking that he's really clumsy in Konoha and that he wants the Kyubi so no one suspects him
Seriously I think AL might be Tsunade's long dead brother (I don't remember ever seing his body to confirm he was dead the only thing I remember was that acording to Orochimaru, he was so mutilated that Tsunade wouldn't have recognized him, I'm think he did a switch body kinda like Kabuto did for Sai
But if anybody remembers seing it please say so
-
Dan? I remember him being in a fight against several Kumo nin, in which he was killed, and while he was dying Tsunade was covered in his blood. Which is where her hemophobia comes from. Nawaki was the one brutally mutilated.
I personally hope the AL is a new character (other son of the Sandaime perhaps?), but I think it's likely he's going to be a back from the dead character. The shining point of this chapter was Kakashi looking left and right at the same time. Kakashi wins.

No, not Dan, I didn't say Tsunade's boyfriend I said brother
Tsunade's brother is Nawaki
-
Oops, sorry, didn't read carefully enough. :P I wonder when Kishimoto is going to reveal the AL, I'm going to laugh if he's a dead character who has changed very little. coughsasukecough

I think AL is Narutos brain, which got seperated at birth.

Of course! That means Kurenai's sister was Naruto's mother! All the pieces are now falling into place, muwa ha…
-
You forgot the part where Racer X is actually Speed's brother.
-
After reading the full chapter I can say only one thing
Lame of you Kishimoto
Akatsuki's goal is lame and the way to get there is even more stupid
After endless wars what world will they have to rule ? A tottally destroyed world
I'm starting to think a friend of mine was right when he said Kishimoto is washed up
I just hope after the break Kishimoto come back with new ideas
By the way the backgrounds are really good, it's probably the work of a assistant, if indeed it is, maybe Kishimoto and him should switch places
-
so, then. Is it just me or is Naruto making Rasengans using one hand and without clones now?
-
I doubt it. I bet Kishi still isn't sure how he wants him to look yet.
nope, it's going to be the 3rd. ._.;
@yokaiforte:
so, then. Is it just me or is Naruto making Rasengans using one hand and without clones now?
No, it's not just you he's ACTUALLY gotten stronger. Who'd have guessed. :P
-
So the entire point of all that build up was to kill a mid-level character?
-
I could see it building up to a later fight with Shikamaru and possibly the rest of his team fight Hidan, but otherwise it looks like it was just for that.
-
There really is no difference between Naruto and some generic fihting series anymore, all the plot is utterly bare bones.
I could plot circles around Kishimoto, Rave Master is more inventive and shocking than this for godsakes.Start that mafia story already Kishi…
-
Hmmm, A rogue ninja society? That sounds like it could be interesting in a way. I think the whole world domination thing is not as people make it out to be.
It seems like he is saying that he want to build a ninja society where ninjas are not obsolute like they are turning out to be.
The one thing I like about this is the possibility of war. He mentioned it and I have been waiting for a long time to see a ninja war since I first read this series. I doubt they will have Berserk like battle fields but something not 2 far off would be cool. I felt I got a little teaser of that from the Kakashi Gaiden.
He wants this army, how is he going to recruit? This story could go either way but Kishie have some good ideas but he just doesnt know how to put it together. I hope he thinks of something good to make this less cliche.
-
@yokaiforte:

it looks like that yes.
-
Wait… What were you expecting Akatsuki's goal to be exactly?

The problem with the plan is, once they have world domination, what are they gonna do? Ginormous Ninja Wars will either annihilate the entire world, or the need for ninjas will lessen. Again. And they lose their control for at least 10 years. The only way for ninjas to be unobselete is if there are constant periods of war. And when the five huge countries step in, and gain help from Akatsuki, they'll annihilate the smaller countries. Again.
The idea of mercenaries was a good try though.
But isn't Akatsuki already a rogue ninja society?
And he plans to recruit from the villages that are being disassembled. Like the sand village before the Invasion.
The problem is, seeing how understaffed the leaf village was after the Orochimaru invasion in that they just had to send out Genin to retrieve what Orochimaru wants, and seeing how Leaf is the largest of all, how are all these countries gonna hold up with a huge battle?
I REALLY hope Kish puts more into making it less Cliche, but well… yea...
-
The idea of world domination as Akatsuki's goals was semi-expected, yet not expected at the same time. I thought Kishimoto could do better than that, but then again, what else can they do? In the end, it all leads up to conquest of the world. Of course, it's not all like that. The Akatsuki Leader had a good plan no doubt, but it is somewhat complicated. It is very possible that Kishimoto can mess up, but so far, the plan has been going somewhat well. I mean we have Kakuzu, the money-lover. He seems to be a very important part of Akatsuki, as he seems to be the most devoted in Akatsuki. Then comes the second new kid, Hidan. It's odd really, as the Akatsuki Leader didn't explain the plan to Hidan. Oh well; it doesn't really matter, since he knowns it know. Hidan is like the tiny interference of the first part of the plan. Actually, I have an odd theory that Hidan was paired with Kakuzu so that he could slowly become a money and killing maniac, instead of just a killing maniac who repeatedly stabs himself just to see his gore. Then comes the mercenary organization part. This is a surprisingly odd idea, and if everything flows well, it can go well if Akatsuki manage to succeed part of their plan. I honestly didn't see this coming, and it was a nice addition to the lame "take over the world plan," although Akatsuki may be going slowly like ancient empires, slowly conquering one area, then another. And then once the countries give in to Akatsuki's help, they basically rule. It's a complex, well-thought out plan, but whether or not Kishimoto can make it flow depends on him. He seems to be taking a break for a week, so he may be trying to think of something good. That's just my opinion though.
And here's someone else's opinion. The man has a bachelor's degree, working for his master's and is incredibly intelligent. I'm sure most of you would agree with him:
@Mechalich:
So, the Akatsuki Leader has a three-step plan for world domination. That's nice, it's moderately well thought out and even has a contingency or two involved (ie. bijuu power). At the very lest this plan serves as clear indication that the AL is not the 4th Hokage since, it would be much easier to begin this kind of plan already controlling a ninja village than from their present position. he also manages to come off as a fairly sane megolomaniac, which is refreshing since every other villian in Naruto is a complete nutcase. However, I, and apparently others, can't seem to shake the feeling that its all so mundane. Like, oh, ho-hum, plan to conquer the world using some moderately creative politics and a bunch of demons. Given the Naruto universe's poltical underdevelopment this idea is certain to be grossly simplified.
The important part seems to be that, while the AL intends on global domination its highly doubtful that his minions share that particular goal. Hidan obviously doesn't, Kakuzu is only in it for the money (possibly to finance his depraved researches), Itachi doesn't seem like the world domination type either, and Deidara's a wackjob artist. Kisame's a sadist along for the ride, and Zetsu is well, Zetsu, so exactly how many of the Akatsuki members actually care about the big overarching goal?
The training piece, ah, whatever, it's nice, but it's overshadowed by all the rest of the stuff in the chapter. One important piece of it though: apparently Naruto's clones can go tailed Kyuubi now. This is, to say the least, very scary. What would happen if they all went even one-tail? Can the Kyuubi's chakra even support something like that?
-
But the main factor is…
Who cares anymore? -
AH HA HA HA! Naruto filler.
!

Thickest neck :O EVER.

Here's some fun copypasta (altered) from Wikipedia's entry on Archer of Fate/stay night.
@Wikipedia:
The Akatsuki Leader is actually an adult Naruto Uzumaki, the main character of Naruto. He was ultimately the Fifth Hokage, and is a living incarnation of the "Ninja Way". The Underworld, which preserves the souls of all Epic Spirits, exists outside of any conventional timeline, so Naruto can be reincarnated from any point in history. The resurrection jutsu Sakura used as a catalyst in Naruto's summoning was simmilar to the healing jutsu she used to save Naruto's life.
His history differs from Naruto in many of the specific storylines, making him more of an alternate incarnation of the Naruto in the current timeline rather than directly being his future form, although he is most similar to the version who progressed through the pilot chapter. Naruto remains the former Master of Gamabunta, but there is a strong possiblity that Kyuubi was never removed from his body. He cares deeply for Moegi, and his inability to prevent her death one year after the war's end is his greatest regret. At one point in his future life, Naruto finds himself incapable of saving the lives of several hundred people; to change the course of their destinies, he forges a pact with the world, whereby in exchange for a miracle he is obligated to posthumously and indefinitely serve humanity in the afterlife. Later, one of those spared hundred from another village uses him as a political scapegoat, executing Naruto under the accusations of war crimes for wanton violence and destruction.
Throughout his ninja career, Naruto struggles with the same doubt his father, The Fourth Hokage, acknowledged many years before; when the life of one person is saved, another person must be left to die. Naruto fights in several future battles, and he is horrified to discover himself needlessly slaughtering countless numbers of the nefarious and innocent alike. In time, the once idealistic Naruto comes to the pessimistic conclusion that attempting to preserve all human life is futile, for the few must be sacrificed for the survival of the many. Accepting this concept frustrates Naruto, for it betrays his life's conviction and renders his selfless dedication to defending mankind worthless.
Broken, bitter, and angry, Naruto gracefully accepts his death, gambling his afterlife on the small hope of being summoned as a zombie during the Chuunin Exams. His rationale is to kill his younger self and cause a time paradox, which Naruto hopes will spare himself the anguish of realizing his ideals are a sham, even at a cost of ripping the fabric of reality asunder.
Ironically, I was the one who wrote the original article I just bastardized.
-
Gai's a mushroom. And Kurenai needs to cut down on the sweets.
-
I was looking at Shueisha releases, and it looks like volume 35 doesn't have the same bland white background.
-
Is that really Kurenai? When I first saw it I thought it was Sasuke or some other guy dressed up as her.
-
The Naruto fanbase sure is disgruntled. I remember back in 2002 when the series was considered the shit.
-
@Dr.:

Unfortuantely even then they were disgruntled… Heck back when the Sasuke Retrival arc was in the manga they were complaining that it was moving too slow despite now saying that it's one of the best arc's in the series.
-
The fact that he even delayed that goal for so long makes me think it's a decoy. I doubt that's their tru motive. If it were so, why do they need the 9 demons? Just to take over nations? COMEON we all saw how powerful these ninja are. What's the real goal for these folk?
-

Part of the reason was that at the time, it really was pretty slow.
I don't find the arc nearly as tedious after looking back at it, but while it was going, we had to wait for a pretty long time without much happening and then there was barely any payoff at the end. -
What's the real goal for these folk?
something far grander than world domination
-

To resurrect the ancient god of destruction.
What do you mean it's even more cliche?

Off-topic:
I recently started reading the manga and enjoy`s it. Should I watch the anime instead (like I did with OP) or read the manga?
In other words; Whats best, the manga or the anime? Thanks.
-
Nation of soldiers/shinobis…. Monopoly of war...
Kishi's been playing Metal Gear Solid XDDDD And watching MGS4 trailers.
-
Now I'm just waiting for the Akatsuki Leader to reveal himself to be Naruto's father so things can come full circle. Though some might see that as a Star Wars Stigmata. It's just weird to me his headband isn't shown yet, his similarly spikey hair to Naruto (generic as it may be prevalent in other manga's) and his comment about the leaf's belief (cause from comments like Hidan, other ninjas outside there own nation don't really pay attention to other nations culture as much unless it reveals any weaknesses in there defense). Also, taking to account that we haven't heard about Naruto's parents and Naruto himself hasn't made mention of them, not even a question, makes it suspicious and likely to be revealed later on. Though I'm just speculating this on the little information revealed so I'm sure to be wrong on this.
Anyway, I don't know why any of the member really wants to stay in Akatsuki at all. How many members did they have to go through before they reached their current incarnation of Akatsuki. Being in the group doesn't guarantee you'll live that long if your weak or if you piss of Kakuzu. That big looking character Akatsuki member at the end of part 1 hasn't shown up and looks to be from shadow comparing the shown members, he was the one replaced, along many other member deaths after him, to the current new member Hidan. The only thing I'm really disappointed about Akatsuki is the variety of character types. Outside of Zetsu, Kisame and maybe Sasori (though puppet he retained his original look), there's not that many freaky looking members. I'm just wishing that that person with the flower in head is I'm hoping, the last chance to be revealed the lone Akatsuki woman member of the group. Or they can all be using henge no jutsu to disguised themselves and reveal in the end that they were all women members in disguised and reveal themselves finally to everyone's surprise that were strong women characters in the Naruto Universe outside Tsunade, Temari and Upgraded Sakura. Doubtful but one can dream.
An for my last comment if you even made it through my long winding rant its about the bijuu's. Not much development on the 2-tailed and 3-tailed but then I wasn't really surprised. I'm just hoping that when the 4-tailed through 8-tailed vessals are revealed that there are bond's made between Naruto in some fashion through a mission of sorts. I mean, Naruto should be ecstatic about other people who have been what he's been through before he changed. Start to recede back to his old self of when he though he was alone and be friend other bijuu Jinchuuriki like himself and slowly lose grasp with the current family he has now. Visit a village they haven't gone to yet (Cloud,eh?). Maybe have a girl around Naruto's age and have a little romantic relation, playing around a rice field before becoming separated by Akatsuki's "War Plan"+"Akatsuki Shinobi's for Hire" = "Profit… for World Domination". They already have a 2-tailed woman Jinchuuriki so why not. I'm still going to read Naruto to the end so I can then judge the series as a whole but I'm just hoping it doesn't turn to chud at the end.
END SCENE.

I am pretty sure the AL is from Konoha, particular how he talked about the "will of fire". Also his chin looks alot like a Sarutobi chin. He is either something stupid like Asuma's and Kurenai's son ( cause she is pregnant)from the future or The thirds son.
-
small side note
210 - 212 is another 90 minute special and everywhere where this is posted the internet went crazy and exploded with people going its Gaiden (yet again)
waits paitently for hopes to be crushed

HE'S REALLY CELL.
Only more human.

I don't find the arc nearly as tedious after looking back at it, but while it was going, we had to wait for a pretty long time without much happening and then there was barely any payoff at the end.Might I also remind you how people thought of the Sakura and Chiyo vs Sasori fight? Heck they say the rescue Gaara arc is great NOW but back then they were complaining about how much it was dragged out and how they were bored of Sakura fighting.
As for Akatsuki Leader it's probably pretty obvious that it's Naruto's father although I'm sure Kishimoto's going to make some big show of it when they finally reveal him to be Yondaime who somehow lived through the powers of deus ex machina.
I mean what next? Sasuke sudeenly summoning a meteor to hit Konoha while one-winged angel plays in the background?
-
Yeah, one thing about kishie is that Naruto is much better when read in a few chapters at a time. The Sasori vs Chiyo fight was 10 times better if you read the whole thing at once. Same with the Gaara arc as a whole.
The sai arc would have been better if it wasnt for the ending, everything would of been better if sai didnt turn good all of a sudden even tho his mission was just to kill Sasuke.

I have a Naruto question,Is Kidomaru the only black guy on Naruto or are there more?
-
I have a Naruto question,Is Kidomaru the only black guy on Naruto or are there more?
Why does it matter if there are black guys in anime especially in Naruto? Seriously I'm beginning to wonder that. What is with people's obsession of wanting to see black guy's in anime?
