@Ivotas:
Said it before, will say it again: I hope that Kidd will fall, because it would be nice if a guy with a higher bounty then Luffy would fall thanks to somebody else then to the protagonists themselves. Also Kuma needs to get somebody now or it wouldn't be anything special if he only let the Strawhats escape.
The problem (at least for me), with seeing Kidd fall. Would mean that the Mugiwara were the biggest, in fact you might as well say cliche elite of the manga. With Kidd, that's kinda had the edge taken off it. He may not be the most expensive head for his sheer ability like how the Mugiwara is, but his infamy goes without question and makes it look like the world is bigger than what we've been shown.
@Ryuksgelus:
You seem completely lost to me. Vivi played her part in the story, as did most of named people the SH met over the course of the Alabasta Arc.
Your first sentence makes no sense. I'm saying Oda's done a great job of developing just about every named person the SH or their enemies/rivals have ever met which is a great quality to have in a writer? To have so many characters and so many stories going on at once without it becoming convoluted and confusing is truly a feat. Sounds to me like you're saying I shouldn't expect that anymore?
Oda being consistent in his writing style is different than becoming predictable. Don't even understand how you came to that point.
I'm not sure the point you're trying to make. I made a point about writing as a fundamental principal and all of a sudden you've taken that to mean that i'm saying Oda must kill everyone? I'm merely stating the possibility of using red herrings, it's a tried and tested form.
@Ryuksgelus:
You realize you are the one who brought up Buggy right? Having one of the strongest fighters in the world put on her tail (putting herself and her crew in danger) by no fault of her own forcing her to quickly change/speed up her original plan was isn't a good reason to be pissed and want to beat somebody up?
She's a pirate. You talk as though her characters been explored and we know that she's good (i.e. hasn't harmed innocents). Fact of the matter is, Luffy protected his friend and her getting pissy at him for doing that, isn't exactly something by which she's refuse to die. It's a petty grudge.
@Ryuksgelus:
I said are not terrorists.
My bad! apologies!
@Ryuksgelus:
Maybe if your using an Urban dictionary positive generalizations of Women(more specifically women in power) is sexism, but usually nobody going to be called a sexist pig for saying girls are more likely to avoid fights when possible, especially when even studies show females are generally less likely to fuck up strangers or acquaintances than males.
Getting back to the subject at hand instead of a bullshit semanticðics discussion, why don't you respond to my original point that not wanting to get into avoidable pointless battle isn't a sign of cowardness or fear?
It depends on how it's done. Screaming is a sign of fear is it not?
@Ryuksgelus:
So you basically you are lost? I put luck_/_ability to compromise that he may not be an actual psychic and instead he's just been incredibly lucky that all his predictions have come true and got him this far? Yet again you debate on something besides the point? He's been doing pretty good till now, why would it all fall apart now(excluding the new confrontation with Kizaru).
I'm merely stating that no amount of luck that can substitute for ability. i.e. Less say that Hawkins was extremely lucky to avoid huge enemies, would he still not have to have done things that the World Government didn't appreciate in order to rack up his bounty? Or at you saying he just got lucky and happened to keep punching random under cover WG Agents every other day?
@Ryuksgelus:
Making a lot of assumptions are you not? Lola came from the New World was she not fodder from a power&skill perspective? Really think Rockstar wil be a forced to be reckoned with compared to a SN? Think Rockstar is weaker than the hundreds of fodder guys around the emperors? Think Division captains 10 and below in WB's fleet will matter in the long run? Think every marine in the New World will be stronger than those elite fighters from the Buster Call?
Reading this quote just reinforces my view that you're reaching for any excuse to kill the SN off.
If we see Rockstar go up against a captain or anything close i'll be shocked. And you're right in regards to Lola, she was weak, but the thing with the Mugiwara is that they only fight against evil (however it's defined at the time) and thus, they'd never have to fight the likes of Lola.
@Ryuksgelus:
Making it off the Archipelago is not the same as making it to the end of the story/series.
I doubt he'd call them Supernovas then kill them off without a bang(the most important part of a Super Nova). Yeah they survived whatever they've been through up till this point just to be one-shotted by Kizaru or done in by bad service.
All to show us the New world is crazy dangerous and nobody is comparable to the SH even though that was the entire point Moria&Thriller Bark were trying to tell us and SH have already surpassed many people. Oda is into beating dead horses now, awesome.
You're right, and for this, there's no argument, it's mere opinion. I reckon only five crews (six at the most) will make it to the new world and you think otherwise.
@Besserwisser:
I have looked at more than one translation and other say, too: “Don’t you know how strong we are?” So I won’t say that the translation from mangashare must be right. Look here, this is trustable for me:
http://manga.bleachexile.com/one-piece-chapter-498-page-15.html
PS: I know that is the same group, which use from onemanga, but I trust this group. If they make mistakes they make a v2.
They say they use Carlos Net's translation according to this, well here it is in it's rawest form: http://mangahelpers.com/forums/showpost.php?p=841100&postcount=1
