The Navarre shareholders were notified of this a while ago, but to my annoyance I later discovered someone at the FUNimation panel during Anime Expo leaked the acquisitions before they were actually finalized. Something like that is just unprofessional…
Anyway, while I'm pro-FUNimation I'm a bit worried about ADV's financial straits and I'm also worried FUNimation is taking up too much of the anime business in North America. I hate Bandai but that doesn't mean I'm not enthusiastic about FUNimation getting a ton of titles either, I'm hoping that the big sponsors in Japan will learn that exclusive deals aren't going to ensure they'll be making a profit or gain status in NA and I hope titles will be up to competitive bidding, based on their experience with FUNimation.
I'd really like to see Media Blasters take a stand up in the splitting of Geneon's possessions, and 4Kids to license some more (kids) titles as well.

I know. As things stand, Funi is pretty much the leading anime Company right now and the only good company. Geneon is splitting up, Viz is running out of money, ADV is also crumbling. It seems like everything is on FUNi's shoulders and I severely hope they don't get crushed under all that weight. FUNi is a very good company and it deserves to be successful. Though of course what should be and what will happen are two different things
Viz is running out of money…
Where did you hear this? Make today my Christmas in July please.
^Assumed to be connected to Bleach presumably getting the axe.

…erm, why the hell would you actually want that?
@Sandai:

Surprisingly, I'm not too happy about it - I'd love to hear Viz's manga division in dire straights, but the anime failing? It's in competition with Code Geass and is summarily trouncing Geass in the ratings, I'm rather sad to hear there's no money to dub it.
Don't go there. Please don't. He'll go into rant mode.
Oh and 4Kids deserves to die:/
Edit: Dang he deleted the post. I'll look like an idiot now:/
But basically someone asked Malintex why he hates Viz.
Yeah, don't go there:/
I deleted the post… wanted to stay on topic.
Anyway, I haven't heard of more than half of the series on that list. I didn't know Viz was doing bad either. Too bad, I enjoy their dubs.
Viz is doing bad?! Can someone PLEASE clarify that? They got Naruto, Bleach, and Death Note. Some of the most popular series in the last decade, how are they doing bad? Where's the source?
I always thought Viz was a pretty good when it came to dubs and manga…maybe their referin the thread bout Viz goin broke..??

And I thought voice actors usually aren't in the "know". Sorry if I'm skeptical, but it is a voice actor, and it IS being posted on narudofan.
Having a talk with the production company is generally a bad sign. That also lends legitimacy to the claim.
Hmm, that's not good. Still, I'm skeptical as well.
Viz-news: That sucks, but I'm not too much of a fan of how Viz does stuff either… (They seem to plainly REFUSE to listen to the fans… Notice how if there is a problem with their releases, they never get fixed, like the hardsubbed video in Bleach, the green-tinted video in Death Note, or the lack of sign-subtitles for every single show they've ever released.)
Topic: Well, the only shows I actually care about on that list are Air and Kanon, and I've got most of Air already, so really, the only thing that interests me there is Kanon, which I was a bit afraid that I might not be able to get when ADV said that the last volume was "suspended indefinitely". Glad FUNi saved it, and I just hope they'll release the last volume soon. (Even though I haven't bought a single volume of the show yet, nor have I even seen it before, but I'm going to get it as soon as I can.)
Cool I wanna see Air Gear
If Viz supossedly goes out of business, who gets thier Manga and anime rights?
Naruto is under Viz Media for dubbing, according to the box.
They're not going out of business.
