Upon hearing Usopp left the crew i was quietly appreciative, though i haven't seen or read any of this yet it made sense, Usopp is indeed a hinderance to the Straw Hats.
While others have grown around him (of course not including Nami (who was already the best in her field), Luffy (who works on emotion) and Sanji (who though seems to stay as strong as Zoro never actually shows improvement via training or even fighting)) Chopper who is becoming brave and a worthy fighting adversary and Zoro who can not cut through steel are moving leaps and bounds, however you take a look at Usopp and theirs been zero improvement, he's yet to pick up a gun, he's not showed any improvement regarding the cannon, in fact his only improvement has been in his invention skills which Oda uses more so for emotional relief.
With the blackbeard pirates' sniper just making his first appearence in OP to take out the three seagulls from such an amazing distance and Usopp failing to realise the cause of death, you have to wonder if he is truly on the road to become a legendary marksman like his father.
Am i the only to feel that Usopp hasn't developed as a character, still as much of a coward, still unable to add a single one of his actual real stories to his bag full of stories and still walking around with a slingshot.
Will a battle with the blackbeard's be a moment of Usopp coming of age or will he just remain an utter disappointment untill he meets with his father? it's time for Usopp to grow up, though Chopper is one of my firm favourites, it's embarrassing that he could surpass Usopp so quickly, let's all remember that Sanji has no devils fruit, as does (not) Zoro and they're two of the strongest members on board, who excel in their fields, even now Chopper is an excellent doctor and becoming a fighting machine (though only when he's backed in a corner) but you look at Usopp.
What can i say i'm disappointed.
