A very good chapter, but I´m wondering Whats wrong with the face of Duval in the 6 page
Chapter 506 "Roger & Rayleigh" Discussion
-
-
When Luffy was about to get his head chopped off in Loguetown, Smoker mentioned "22 years ago" as well. So if that means anything, it hasn't been a year, which was already kind of evident.
We've been over this. The only discrepancy to that statement is Gaimon's about it being just over 20 years. Smoker is the next person after Gaimon to mention it and says 22. But I doubt Gaimon's sense of time would be completely accurate considering he's been living alone on an island full of animals for so long.
-
A very good chapter, but I´m wondering Whats wrong with the face of Duval in the 6 page
Duval's trying to wink.
-
wow, this rocks! I didn't know the scanlation would be out so quickly…..anyways, I'm actually a bit disappointed. Oda could have put in way more action, but he drew out the talking in Shakky's house....aargh.
-
Excellent chapter, nothing bad to say about it, all I wanna know is there really a chapter next week? because I don't see anywhere where it would say no chapter!
-
lol man so much is going on and kizaru has yet to fight any of the pirates on the island. once all the fights wrap up on the island then whitebeard vs the shichibukai is going to start! damn it's freaking nuts.
-
So many great battles indeed.
-
is there really a chapter next week?

And, I just notice, Kizaru is tall just like Aokiji, so I guess we can say the Admirals are all freakishly tall!
-
Which means that Coby must become way taller in order to become a Admiral someday.

It's questionable with Akainu:
http://www.onemanga.com/One_Piece/397/12/
He looks tall, but his men are in the background, so it's hard to say.
-
So Akainu might be the short one of the group?
-
I'm leaning towards Akainu being as tall as the other admirals.
-
I doubt Zoro will fight him again.
At least there is a link of honour between both of them - see last right panel at http://www.onemanga.com/One_Piece/485/14/ so Kuma can't die here, and probably can't lose.
We know that Zoro final opponent will be Mihawk, but he can't seriously fight one of the strongest men in the world, the strongest swordman, without first being able to beat another Shichibukai.
BY THE WAY… re-reading that chapter... don't forget that there is also a link between Kuma and Dragon, so really I can't see him lose here.
-
I wonder what other former rookie pirates were at Loguetown to witness the Pirate King's execution. I guess that Moria and Crocodile were there. Dragon was there too. It's true that Roger's eyes are similar to Dragon's, but as far as we've seen, all the Ds look pretty much alike.

@Tokoro:
Thanks to everyone who provided the chapter, particularly so early on the 4th…and with no chapter for at least one week. (the next issue it is in is WSJ's 40th…I hope all the manga are still regularly scheduled)
It seems Tokoro Ataru knows but nothing has been confirmed.
-
Btw, anyone else notice this also confirms that Roger has no scar on his left eye? Apparently, it's only a trait of the Monkey Clan and no other D clan. Well… Dragon's tattoo can count as a scar, if it's a tribal burn or something.
-
Good chapter, we got to see EVERYTHING that was going on at the time, not off screen bullshit (Kishimoto >.>)
Next chapter looks beasty
-
It seems Tokoro Ataru knows but nothing has been confirmed.
Thanks alot Miracles! (power of the afro)

But look here:

Those guys are tiny compared to him!

lol, so maybe later when we see him, he'll be super tall, now that would be funny!
-

Yeah, that's Kizaru, though. They were asking if Akainu was tall, too, and I put that it's ambiguous since that's the only size comparison we have and his men are in the background.

I follow Ritual, which get sources from Japan. If they're wrong, they're wrong. But at this point, until I see that there is a OP chapter next week, I am assuming Oda's on another break. And here's the current update:
#33 (July 14th)
-Bleach (Cover/color page)
-To-LOVE (color page)
-Ashihara Daisuke / Room 303 (One Shot)
-Absent: One PieceAnd of course adding fuel to the fire: #34 is WSJ's 40th anniversary celebration…they probably will keep the regular chapters for all series but it could still be up in the air.
-
It would be funny but cool as well.

Well at the end of the One Piece chapter, there's nothing saying the author's taking a break etc, which is what you normally see if there's going to be a gap right?
If your getting that source from Japan you seem to be right about there being no One Piece next week. Man, Oda gets more breaks than Mr. Glass from Unbreakable. I noticed no Naruto on there for next week either (Yet the chapter said nothing of a break)…
At least Bleach is being published next week....
-
@Fire Fist:
I hope by Roger saying he wouldn't die, he really meant that the "Will of the D" or his own personal will would be carried on, not anything too supernatural, like him actually existing still somewhere. He accomplished his dream and gave himself up to begin an era; there's no reason for him to come back.
Well it seemed to me that it was sort of meant to correlate with the idea in Hilruk's speech about when a "man dies" (diseases and being killed being among the reasons he lists as not causing a man to die.)
-

Yeah, thats what I was looking for, but anywho, that guy is always taking a break, JEEZ, every few weeks!
-

Yeah his many breaks are becoming annyoing…But that's business.
Lets just hope this one isn't true.
-
Hmm… Look's like this miniarc's wrapping up. Thanks to those who provided the chap.
Lots of fun revelations today:
-Shanks passed through Shabondy 10 years ago. Shanks left Luffy's home town 10 years before Luffy did. This means that it took shanks the same amount of time to travel from luffy's home town to here as it took the Strawhats.... however long that actually may be.
-Roger spent three years after leaving the twin capes to circumnavigate the world, but was known as a "rookie" well before then. This suggests that he left the GL when he got ill and returned. This also means that some of his adventures, such as his trip to skypiea, may have occurred during his youth and not during the circumnavigation attempt.
-Crocus had left Laboon behind with the same promise as Brooke's crew, but actually fulfilled that promise by returning through Red Mountain. Did Roger make the same promise as luffy when he went through?
-Kureha's association with Roger now makes perfect sense as he would of course have stopped by Drum island for its renowned medical knowledge in his search for a cure.
-Not even Raleigh knows the exact reason Rodger turned himself in. That last year of his life is the next big unknown in regards to the Pirate King and any potential offspring, associations, tie ins etc. The phrase "I ain't gonna die, Partner," as translated by binktopia,is extremely loaded. Rodger planned for some aspect of himself to survive. How, what or why is something we'll find out a looong time from now.
-The greater detail in Rodger's face this time around makes him look considerably more Luffy like and less like Robin. His face has been made wider, his nose less sharp, and his irises have been revealed as small, although not the simple dot of most OP characters.
-Question to japanese readers: Is the spelling of the (presumably Jimbei's) Sunny Pirates the same as that in the Thousand Sunny? Did Franky name the ship based on his mentor's old pirate crew? After all, Tom had stylized sun tatoos on his arms too.
However, outside of the revelations from the mini-flashback, everything's going more or less as expected.
-The Rookies have announced their intention to flee rather than fight. Their fights are probably over until we meet them again in the New World.
-The strawhats only need to hide the Sunny-go and let Raleigh do his work and they can be on their way too. Likely, the only fighting Kizaru will see is after Raleigh finishes and the strawhats have to break through the marine forces to leave.
-However, that also means the the Marine HQ will be understaffed until the strawhats come out of hiding. WB will likely attack during the time raleigh takes to coat the ship.
-Odds are that Raleigh will sacrifice himself to stall Kizaru and give Luffy and Co. the chance to make their getaway. So, if he accepts to become a member of Luffy's crew before then, don't get carried away because it won't last long.
-
Oda taking a break isn't bad if hes doing research or things like that fair play
drawing manga and thinking up storylines for arcs week in week out must get tiring, i don't think many of us could do so and if they did im sure they would like breaksalso some breaks are not odas fault so i don't see why people can say theres too many breaks.
For the long ones like 2week breaks thats because we get leaked the chapter when theres meant to be a break then get nothing for two weeks in a row
the chapter was good and im sure following chapters will be good
things are getting complicated and i don't wanna see a rush few chapters to clear things up -

? Franky didn't even want to name it that.
Only reason Iceburg thought of that name was because he saw the lion head as a sun (while others saw it as a sunflower). It was more of a joke then tying to the fishmen imo.
-
Well the breaks are nothing compare to HxH thankfully. Also the Roger Robin connection is still posiible since she looks exactly like her mother except that she has a different skin tone and has black hair instead.
-
So the two strongest men in the world had an illness except that one was a terminal one. It sounds a bit far fetched.
Wow there are two admirals and a Shichibukai at the scene,it looks bad for the supernovas.
-
two admirals? are you counting Garp as a full admiral? =S
-
Can't do that since Garp is only a Vice-Admiral.
-
And we don't know if Garp is there yet. btw I think that Garp is going to screw up Kizaru's plans by mistake in some funny/stupid Garpish way and then he will laugh his ass of like he always does.
-
Not sure if anyone posted this: This sickness they mention that Roger had; I've been wondering. So far we have been seeing, around each arc, someone having oir dying from disease. This sickness doesnt have a name yet. Example: WhiteBeard, Chopper's Father, Brook's Capt, and Roger. This might end up having Chopper to have an ultimate goal, to find the cure of this sickness. This might be trigger when someone from the crew, probably Luffy, ends up with this sickness.
-
Damn I thought the guy who covered in shadow who identified the first pirate captain slave shown was the other admiral.
-
So I wonder if Garp will help the strawhats somehow?
-
So I wonder if Garp will help the strawhats somehow?
Have my doubts about that. I think he will leave them alone if he can fight Rayleight.
-
I saw Crocus translated to Clocks by Binktopia. Would that be an incorrect translation?
-
I saw Crocus translated to Clocks by Binktopia. Would that be an incorrect translation?
Yes it is. That's probably why Binktopia fixed their mistake.
-
It a mistake since their no character in One Piece called Clocks yet at least.
-
Wait, when did Garp pop up? I thought he was still trying to keep quiet about Rayleigh. Why would he show up now?
-
Be careful what you wish for…
Anyway, after reading the scan, I'm not surprised that Robin knew who he was from the beginning. And in the HQ scan, Kizaru's facial features definitely look like a monkey's, fitting his name. Brooke's response to Crocus being in Roger's crew mostly to look for him is priceless.
Great chapter, but the next one's gonna be awesome.
-
Well I don't think he pop up yet but is probably on the island though.
-

That is an interesting point for Chopper's dream. He wants to find essentially a cure-all…while that could be impossible to find something that could cure every disease in the world all at once, it would be amazing if he accomplishes his dream by finding the cure for the "mystery illness" that seems to be connected to several of the key characters. (particularly if Hiriluk's and Roger's were the same)
-
By what he said, I would think that he would stay away. After all, they have a lot of big named people on the island but then again, it's Garp. He does what's needed with a smile on his face.
Also, I wonder how he's taking Ace being declared for execution. After all, he's his grandson too. He knows his duties and thinking back he seems fine for the moment. Still, that's something I just thought of.
Now, to the Chopper curing the Mysterious disease that sounds like an interesting thing. After all, that would be included in his making of the miracle cure that he wants to make.
-
But finding a cure for that disease would be a great accomplishment for Chopper.
-
But finding a cure for that disease would be a great accomplishment for Chopper.
Yeah. He might meet someone with that disease and cure him, thus become the greatest doctor ever.
I strongly believe that Whitebeard will not reach the WGHQs until the end of the next major arc. Remember how long it took for Shanks to reach Whitebeard for their talk.
-
Wait, when did Garp pop up? I thought he was still trying to keep quiet about Rayleigh. Why would he show up now?
He said he was going to handle the problem, didn't he?
-
I've got a question only tangently related to the discussion. People were saying this chapter was "early"…if I recall, chapters used to come out on Thursdays on a regular basis and spoilers on Tuesdays, Wednesdays at latest. During Jump double editions, the spoilers would leak on Mondays or even Sundays.
Has there been a change in the raw uploaders as of late? Not complaining, just curious.
-
He said he was going to handle the problem, didn't he?
Maybe he did handle it by sending someone, someone like Kuma. I don't think Sengoku would let Grap just up and leave on him during this time, Yellow did, but I don't think Sengoku would let another one do it.
