I'll be there. I'll definitely be hitting the JAM Project concert, and aside from a few random panels that have caught my attention, I'll probably spend most of my time browsing in the Dealer's Room, like I did last year. If all goes well, I'll be cosplaying "live-action Goku." (like the movie or not, you can't deny that costume is badass)

Will be there with my Lucci and Ennis Lobby Sanji. And maybe Kaku. My girlfriend is 90% done with her Ennis Lobby Robin and made the seastone hand cuffs and CP9 Den Den Mushi. She may try to make either Thriller Barque Robin or Kalifa.

I'm really sorry Kaboom, my camera started running out of batteries again like I said and as it did, it made all those pictures dark and blurry so they are as far as I can tell, unpresentable. Fortunately I've been finding a lot of sites with photos from that shoot and I've seen you in them. You should have no trouble finding great photos. Also it was cool meeting you in person even though I couldn't stay and chat.

Yeah, Looks like everyone just got the Sunday photo shoot. I was Franky on Friday at that photo shoot. Yeah Unfortunatly I had my ass handed to me by the other Franky, but he was very cool to talk to. If anyone was wondering I was the Franky with the mast of Sunny.
Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to start making some better Franky arms for next year. XD

Also, that panel kinda sucked. I was expecting some retrospective of the use of pirates in anime, leading up to OP, but all it was was a live action Arlong Park Forums where everyone treated the three guys running that fan panel like they were in cahoots with Oda or Toei or something.
Seriously… What was up with that?! Who were those guys, anyway?!

Yeah, I couldn't understand why some people asked the questions they did. How the hell would those guys know what's gonna happen to Ace etc? It would've helped them to have some kind of presentation prepared, but since nobody I talk to normally cares for One Piece, I was just glad to be able to converse about it.

That's understandable. I thought most of it came off as TOO "fan-y," I guess. Particularly when people started diefying Oda the way they did. I mean, yeah, the guy's an amazing storyteller, and we love his work, but some folks seemed two seconds away from donning a robe and chanting his name while waving candles.

Well,for details sake,we did talk a little about other pirate themed animes and stuff..our resource materials we're on lax this panel around(so no visual stuff,sorry bout that)...and no one ever asked any other questions other than about onepiece and 4kids -
Then maybe you can tell me why everyone there thought you knew something they didn't. Also, I stand by what I said.

I thought the Pirates panel was pretty weak. Looks like it was just a random, last-minute "discussion section" that nobody really had any planning for. It was pretty much a given that the majority of the talk would be One Piece-centered, but even still, it's like nobody knew how to put any thought into their questions OR answers. Given some time, I could have probably hosted a better panel.

heeeeyyy, sorry if this is resurrecting an old thread but i felt the need to give my Otakon praise :)
i'm so sad i didn't get the chance to do any OP cosplay for my first Otakon (which still kicked ass anyway) or get to any of the photo shoots and the pirate panel. I did nothing but Bleach (Soi Fong on Friday/Sunday, Momo Hinamori on Saturday) But I did do a horrible closet cosplay which i dubbed 'raver' Nico Robin for anyone who was at the Saturday rave. saw a couple of Zoros and Sanjis and a Franky but idk if that was any of you.
I DO believe i met Kumadori and his girlfriend, though. sorry if i came off as fangirl-y but i obviously heart One Piece and good Sanji and Robin cosplays make me happy :D oh, and i already sent the picture i took of you two to herSooooo, anyone else already plotting next year cosplays? I've got major plans for Vivi and Carue (yes, i wanna make the duck, haha!)
