You remember that one, right? I got pulled after like, one airing, right? Remember why?
Because she was wearing a scarf that symbolized something arab of some sort (sorry if I don't have my facts straight, I didn't look into it too much)

I'm not one for controversy, but I felt like I had to point this out.

Well, while watching Disney channel, as I usually do at 2 am in the morning (don't judge me), I saw the camp rock commercial for the Billionth time. But this time, I noticed this

You'll have to fast forward to 0:31, but it's there, the guy on the right (a jonas brother, I guess) is wearing a scarf looking a lot like Rachel Ray's. I'm not saying it's the same, and I'm not saying it has the same religious (or whatever) context, I just thought it was interesting.

Yes it is, I agree. Even "Don't mess with a Zohan" (which I saw for some reason) even has the under text of acceptance; and of course non-political correctness.

America isn't unique in this, there's been a bunch of censorship crack-downs recently in Japan such that a "slutty" show like Kanokon becomes popular for going as far as modern censorship allows without being outright porn. Several shows in the past year were delayed/cancelled due to touchy events (Higurashi/School Days for that girl killing her dad with an axe, Geass for the earthquake in China) and I think most relevant to all of us there was the art change of Whitebeard's flag in OP.

I strongly suspect censorship is going to go down when Bush leaves office though…it all sounds like applied lateral pressure to me.

Actually nudity used to be common on Japanese programming as was blatant outright sex. But that's sex, not a scarf. And Japan isn't exactly a culturally diverse country scrambling to please the unique make up of their population.

Why, if we're going to confer habeas corpus to foreign soldiers on foreign land fighting a war against the rules of the Geneva Convention, I can only imagine the shit hole the country will become when someone that wants to appease everyone with false promises like McCain or Obama takes office.
