In ET's defense, there are WAY worse games than it, especially in the third dimention. I nominate any and all of these games:
Worst Game
-
-
ok seriously, superman 64
It made me Cry, and I Also Nominate The Auqaman game
-
Here are a few other stinkers gamespot did:
Also, I seem to remember a very old DOS game called Navy Seals, which was flat out awful.
Oh yea, superman 64 video review:
-
My top 3 worst video game ever:
1. Boy and his Blob: Rescue of Princess Blobette for GB (A game where you need to feed this… blob jellybeans so that it will transform to things like ladder, rocket, etc. . Level 1 of this game is practically guessing where you must make blob into a hole so you can drop down from it. The controls sucked).
2. Frogger for GBC. Terrible musics those keeps ringing in your head, and the characters are somekind of pixel mush.
3. Home Alone for GB. It was crazy.
I heard that long ago a NES game called Cheetahmen 2 was out there. It was said that all the graphics sucked, and player was easily killed by a invicible flying glitch.
-
Yet Dragon's Lair for the Commodore 64 was freakin' incredible… a classic in all respects.
Here's a game that's complete & utter shit...

How was that game Bad?
Thought of one game I played that was terrible:
Wheres Waldo(NES)
Disneys Magic Kingdom(NES)
Shadowrun(Snes) -
Broken Pixels at www.gamevideos.com has run a few episodes of particularly bad games. My personal pick would be the Incredible Crash Dummies on Gameboy. The controls were incredibly poor and most of the objectives in the game were rather unclear.
-
Worst video game…probably E.T. for the Atari 2600.
Yes, I had this game. Yes, it really sucked.I actually wound up with two copies of it as one of my cousins gave me their collection of 2600 games. Every few years or so, I hook up my old Atari and play some of the games; I usually play E.T. for a few minutes each time just because.
As far as the worst game I've ever played, I'd say Home Alone for the NES.
-
My brother once bought the PS2 version of Oni because it was $3. I wanna take it back.
-
The Worst game I have ever played is
Devil May Cry 2
I am convinced that its not a game but a chose disquised as one, thats far to easy and no fun.
-
Only to be followed by the Atari 2600 version of Pac-Man
No, ET was worse, I could play Pac-Man and not get frustrated, at least. ET was like, walk - fall in hole -walk - fall in hole - walk - fall in hole GAH!

I would do that too…but I think the newer TVs make it hard to connect the system. Last time I tried I had to have some other kind of connector.
Ghostbusters for 2600 was pretty bad too.
-
I remember that E.T game lol, it was enough to make one kill themself.
Dalek Invasion was a god-aweful game too, same with Destiny of the Doctors.
-
Ring King and Total Recall, both for the NES. Ugh.
-
I'd have to say the ECW games (at least the Playstation versions).
-
There was this megaman game for the gamecube once. Ugh so bad.
Another one I hated was Dbz teketsu for the GBA ugh.
-
Snowboarding Revolution for Gamecube.
o___o"
-
Dragon Lair for NES. Horrible, horrible game.
XD XD!
I saw a video of that game on youtube and thought, how is it that the door or the water make you lose the game? a door is a inanimate object!
-
Shadowrun(Snes)
I liked Shadowrun.
Not sure what I would say is the worst game ever though. Not that there aren't bad games out there, but I stay away from most of them.
-
Big Rig Over the Road racing. It was a racing sim that promised cop chases, smart a.i., and general fun. Your racing opponent NEVER moves, meaning there's no challenge at all. There are no grids, so you can drive right through mountains. There are no cops at all. The graphics are crap. Typos gallore. And sometimes, when you begin a race, the game thinks you've just won the game.
It truely is the worst game ever made, for horrible production. Seriously, there are no redeaming qualities about this game. Plus, false advertisement!
-
After getting it in a bundle of NES games off eBay, I would like to nominate Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Annoying as hell; the only redeeming quality is that it has catchy background music.
-
Try Bubsy for SNES… then go kill yourself.
-
How was that game Bad?
If you like a game with cliche 80's punk rock characters & game dialogue that sounds/reads like it was copypasta'd from a conversation between a Teeny-Bopper & a surfer while in the food court of a mall circa 1987, then it's not a bad game. The controls aren't too bad, but I just can't get past the cheese.

I would have said that or something like it, but no way in hell I'd ever play them. What I did play though, was Ultimate Battle 22. It almost gave me AIDS.

Vagrant story.
"Square epic" they said.
"Awesome, 10/10" they said.Blaaaaargh, I say.
By far my worst buy ever. Even after paying what amounts to 50$ for it, I couldn't live with it for more than an hour. You walk alone (an rpg with a party of one! Pathetic!) Through brown, yellow, grey and yellowish brown dungeons, constantly changing your equipment so you don't deal 1 damage to every dog/bat/blob you meet and engage in slow, slow combat. As I said: Blaaaaargh.

Adventures in the magic kingdom(NES)
-
Adventures in the magic kingdom(NES)
No way, that game was as good as Mickey Mousecapade!!!
-
Superman 64 wins for the suck fest.
-
Fire Emblem for the GBA.
-
i would have to say….hmmmm super mario sunshine and lugi's mansion... they killed mario-_- grrrr..... it was so easy and retarded the plot's didn't make jack sense to me
-
I found this amusing.
WRONG
-
You all loose:
-
How bout them Aquaman games?
-
Iv'e always seen "DBZ: Legacy of Goku" as the ultimate in "seems like it was made by college students" game.
Great games are the ones where a characters talk portrait don't match the model, and have your near Superman hero fighting wild dogs. -
Which dbz legacy game greg, because #3 (and I guess 2) was awesome Oo. The first one, sucked, but the thrid one was great.
-

I thought the same thing. 1 sucked, 2 and 3 were the reasons I started playing again.

His name's Zehpos…
But yeah, from what I've played of the third Legacy of Goku game, it was alright. Maybe not the first one, but the other two were alright.

I have never seen this game before! -

WRONG
Hahahahaha, that's the coolest thing ever.
-
Clock Tower: Ghost Head (Clock Tower II in US/Europe).
- Over 13 endings! Most of which were Game Over screens.
- It was possible to screw up so bad that the game wouldn't let you progress.
- Had nothing to do with the franchise.
- Didn't even have a clock, let alone a tower. (wall decorations don't count)
- The main character is the biggest wuss ever and actually walks towards the stalker if you get close enough.
- To use a gun: You had to carry an amulet, get approached by a monster, lose some health, turn into a demon form (which can't do anything), fire the gun at point blank range, watch the character run into the nearest door, THEN find a container to get rid of the amulet to turn back to normal so you can search the place in your normal form, then pick up the amulet again.
Worst hours of my life.

Huh? Oh shit XDDDD. So sorry zephos. I meant it X-x, just typed greg. lame.
-
Oh yeah, another one that I remember now is the Bastard!! game for Super Nintendo. As a fan of the manga I downloaded the rom a couple of years ago and deleted it straight away, it was some kind of half assed, near unplayable fighting game with only 6 characters available, ridiculously small sprites, and an absolutely idiotic use of mode 7.
Piece of shit.
-
Well, for worst game ever (in regards to the ones I have played) would be Art of Fighting on Sega Genesis. Awful, slow, and the lamest SF knockoffs I've ever seen. Thank God SNK redesigned some of the lamer characters for KOF.
I'm sure I played a game far worse than AOF, but it's the first that came to my mind.
-
I tried to play this lousy Genesis cartridge called 'Sword of Soron' or something. Very clumsy side-scroller with poor play control and large sprites that didn't move in particularly graceful ways.

Well, you at least have to give AoF credit for creating lots of innovations for fighting games. Although I don't know how the Genesis version compares to the Arcade version. Also, lots of classic SNK characters originated there.

OH NO.
YOU DID NOT JUST DIS SHAQ FU.
-

Yeah, very true. I loved the zoom in effect SNK used in AOF. And I actually like Ryo (especially his Wild Ambition version) and Robert now that SNK fixed them up.
On a off-topic note, SNK is bringing AOF Anthology to America if you are interested Kuro. AOF 1-3.
Also, has anyone played Fighting for One PIece? I heard that game was just trash.
-

You heard correctly.
-

That's cool. I was going to import it eventually, but maybe I won't have to. Strange that it's coming out though. I know it's a collection game, but the games are still too old for the taste of many players.
-
No way, that game was as good as Mickey Mousecapade!!!
All I could defeat when I had that game was Autotopia, thunder mountain and the questions.. Haunted mansion,POTC and Space mountain were impossible levels
-
Well, my least favorite game of all time is Day Dreamin' Davey for the NES. An awful top-down action game not unlike Zelda in style, it was just so poorly designed that I can't bear to play it anymore. Hell, it's so bad that it doesn't even merit a single wikipedia reference, Gamefaqs entry, or internet fansite. For those reasons, after fifteen years I still don't know how to beat the cowboy boss in the second world.
