My sisters love it, my mom is familiar with all character and brings me different toys from her travels (like amazing rubber-made Luffy she found in Italy toy store). She used to think One Piece is the name of Luffy himself XD
My dad makes fun of me for collecting merchandise, he says its a stupid waste of money. Maybe hes right >D< But I can`t help myself.

My mom's familiar with the characters, and is helping me collect the P.O.P. sets by using her credit cards. (I never, ever want credit cards, too many bad things can happen.)
My aunt thinks Chopper is cute, but she says "I don't like the guy with the really long nose". And she knows Sanji's my favorite OP character.
My little cousin is kinda into it, he watched Movie 8 with me, and ran back to my aunt yelling "Mom, Luffy came back to life and beat up Crocodile!!"

My mom knows about it, but doesn't really care.
My dad, on the other hand, did express some interest in it, but he didn't really have the time to watch the whole thing from the beginning, so we watched the Skypiea arc (since it's kinda disjointed and away from the main plot) over last summer, and had a blast. He liked it so much, we watched G8 and the Davy Back Fight too.
I really should go back and show him the beginning sometime.

My mom thinks it's kinda cool, but she likes the 4kids rap, and every time she sings it I want to shoot myself in the head…not really, but it's still nerve racking....my brother loves One Piece, my sister thinks it's weird...she usually says "ew" when she sees Usopp or some of the animals... My dad thinks it's cool, but he hasn't really watched it with me yet.
I know the topic says "parents"...but I just included my whole family.......cuz yeah.

Come to think of it, I'm not sure if my dad even knows about it but my mother buys me the comics. I don't think she as any interest in it but she recognizes some of the characters. My sisters will watch with me sometimes and enjoy it but aren't avid fans.
My friends think it's too freaking weird.

My parents basically know of it's existence…my mom at one point said that it was my anti-drug. My dad on the other hand knows somewhat about the plot line...I'm not exactly sure how...but he's shown a little interest in it...he sat down and watched a dub episode once while I was...around when Cricket was talking about the Knock-up stream. Then he was like "When are they riding it up?" "Bout 8 episodes" "You know?" "Yeah I've seen all the way up to 340 somethin" and he was all o_O.

My parents know it exists, since by brother buys the comics and I buy the video games. However, beyond that, the only thing they know about it is that I like to draw Nico Robin. They say I draw her well, but they always make fun of me because I draw her with big breasts (cause, you know, Oda says she's a fucking I-cup). Now they think I'm a tit-fiend.:getlost:

My parents know about One Piece but the only character they recognize is Luffy. Though it's only because my brother cosplayed him.
I also taught my 2 year old sister all the character names and now she points them out whenever she watches it with me (her favourite is Usopp and she likes to yell his name around the house.)

My parents don't really pay attention to all my "Japanimation", as they like to call it. My mother has a vauge knowledge of it, and if I'm trying to describe it to her, it's always titled "That One Show About the Pirates". Dad attempted to play Grand Battle 3 with me, but he got confused because a) he didn't get the controls and b) it's in Japanese so I had to read everything to him. My sister has a completely opposite personality than I do, and thinks getting our nails done is better for bonding that watching a silly cartoon.

My Mom and Dad know I enjoy it and I can watch it as long as I get good grades. My friends also loves the show But my brother HATES anime and hates One Piece most of all because to him it doesn't makes sense and he thinks the characters are gay.
And even when I explain its not kiddy and explain the serious points in the show all he says is. "Its not real its just a Cartoon and it cannot help you in life."
There are 2 things wrong in what he says. 1. Its an Anime and its a little more mature than what we consider a cartoon in America. 2. It tought me alot of things about what the right thing is and made me dig into my emotional self which is really good for an actor.

My brother watched the Funimation dub with me but doesn't go any further than that. Meanwhile I went on to reach Ch 500 in the manga so yeah… he's not as into it but he enjoys it.
My mom is too busy watching law and order to care about anything else, nor would she nor my dad be interested.
My nephews (from a different brother) hate it because they only watch what their mom watches and she doesn't like it. Stupid sister in law. It's because they only saw the 4kids version and never gave it a chance again (nor know the Funimation dub exists) I bet. But they are also all into Naruto and the other popular crap, so eh... they are already lost causes.

as far as i know, my folks know nothing of OP. absolutely none.
but, there were times it was mentioned to them. one time being that my dad found out i had UA on reserve. he just asked me what it was called and what it was about.
i simply said One Piece and pirates. he said 'kay'.
then was the time i came home from AX '07. i had bought the special Robin and Sanji figures [the 'formal' edition, as oppose to Nami and Luffy's 'beach edition']. mother though Robin's dress was pretty and liked the fact Sanji has a rose in his hand.
other than those moments, they dont know anything else about OP. not that i mind though, i actually dont have a lot of OP stuff hanging around in my room. just the aforementioned things.
EDIT: oh, sister knows about OP. i tell her stuff and she watches me play UA. she likes to make silly comparisons of me and several characters. friends think OP is weird, but although they dont watch it [most of them dont anyway], they have a positive view on it.

I think my mum also thinks I'm spending too much money on this, but she never told me… it's just the way she behaves. But it's fine for her because after all, it's MY money. XD
She really doesn't know much about One Piece though. At least she knows the name (I'd kill her if she started saying stuff like "that thing about pirates" XD). She doesn't really know the chars. I just know she thinks Chopper is adorable (I showed her the pic of a Chopper plushie and she went "awwwww!" XD) and Usopp is plain ugly (because she saw my Usopp plushie... yes, plushies are both good and evil XD).
She doesn't care about the videogames... seriously, she's more interested in buying me Lego Indiana Jones (Wii) than me getting Unlimited Adventure, that game I've been dying to play XD
But globally it's fine. She doesn't criticize my passion for OP. XD -

I don't think my parents are even aware that a manga/show called One Piece exists. (They would probably know if I'm living with them though and I'm pretty sure they'll find it funny. XD) My younger sisters, on the other hand, have seen a few episodes of the anime on TV but they're quite apathetic about it.
My aunt and uncle, whom I am living with right now, think it's childish. Well, they generally think manga and anime are for kids anyway. It's pointless arguing with them so I just let them be. Although one time when my Luffy figure came in the mail, my auntie asked if she could have a look. I showed it to her and she said it's 'cute'.
That came out of nowhere so I was really surprised. She's probably getting less hostile to manga/anime. -

Mine are the same way. Though mom did watch the first Funi episode with me. She kept asking who the main character was because, for some reason she just could NOT believe it was Luffy.
