This arc is shaping up to be incredible! Though I didn't think Sanji would call Duval so soon. Nor did I think that he'd possibly play an important part in the story.

Well I dont know if it was intentional or not, but the Strawhats technically didnt go through Reverse Mountain until ch. 101. They left Loguetown in Ch. 100 and was heading to reverse mountain, and the chapter ended with them announcing their dreams/goals with their foot on the barrel. Still a great way to mark the 100th chapter.
Kaku actually seems kinda happy to me.

I wasn't complaining. Other people were… assuming things about chapter 500 and a disappointing "surprise".
Now we don't know if Oda even intended the surprise to be in chapter 500 in the first place. And if he did, there is still a chance he might not match the pacing perfectly to be able to reveal it in that chapter exactly.
Again I wasn't complaining. Sorry if you read it that way. I was just trying to point out to others that they shouldn't be disappointed if there is no big surprise in 500.
(Edit: I reread chapter 100. They don't technically enter the GL until 102. At 100 they leave Logue town on the last page and during 101 they enter the calmbelt and start climbing reverse mountain. They don't touch down on the GL side until the chapter after that.)

Also this Peter Man character looks like a pedophile. He's drop dead creepy and dresses up like bears to kidnap minors. Am I the only one here who is terrified of him.
Personally, I think the new world noble is much much worse. Oda has never created a character I've been so fast to completely loathe. I mean, pages 10-13 are an unbroken series of "DID HE JUST!?!"
Yeah that costume looks almost like Pedo Bear. It's just hilarious seeing a living skeleton afraid of going into a Haunted House. Those nobles are just pure trash.

I have to imagine Oda's put in a lot of work to time this one right. After all, the entire Duval mini-arc seemed like it was just spacing to make sure that the event in 500 was suitably momentous. Also, he used a couple of pages to show amusement park shenanigans in this chapter that could easily have been condensed. Why would he be stretching this stuff out if not to make sure 500 delivered?
Chapter 100 gave us Dragon's introduction and set up Luffy as being Roger's rightful heir. I expect 500 to give us a new Admiral and show that the strawhats are the most badass pirates in their generation. You're right though that Fishman Island will likely have to wait a couple of chapters.

Wow. AM I really that bad at expressing myself? That was part of my point…. I agree with that statement. People are expecting a big surprise in chapter 500. I'm saying that it might not happen in 500 so there is no reason to complain about any lack of it in that particular chapter. (Obviously I worded it horribly with "I assume" and without quoting who i responded too)
On the topic of Odas pacing:

Hasn't he also said that OP was halfway done (in a timeline sense from the readers perspective) at atleast 2 different occations (first one was 5 years ago I believe). Then after that admitted that it's going to take longer (at the second time explaining why the series isn't over) because he draws more then he first expected?
He may have planned his manga far in advance, but he hasn't planned it in detail. He does that on a week to week basis and he might just want to fit something in before any big revealing that pushes that revealing back a chapter.
Edit: and as ctarlong points out the death of merry took longer then he expected as well.

Decent chapter overall. The nobles are scum; they'll get what's coming to them by the end of One Piece. And it's nice to see the Supernova 11 pirates being a little more intelligent and less selfish. Most of the pirates we've seen so far have thought only of themselves. At least these pirates are somewhat looking out for each other.

this chapter to be MEH, quality. However the kidnappers seem like they're going to be good, I hope there on the same level as everyone else on the island, (axeman, rookies). the more stronger the better for a massive brawl that I hope with all my heart will happen (and pretty sure that it won't)

The Supernovas seem to be even cooler than what i initialy thought.
Bonney's Age Fruit must have some crazy abilities cause just changing age doesn't sound really impresive.
The Royal are probably some of the most disgusting characters i have ever seen.

Though in this case, it's a matter of him never saying anything about chapter 500 being speical (as far as I know.) Just a fan-assumption.
As I pointed out in the spoiler chapter, he mentioned a surprise this year (as he did tied to Blackbeard/Ace, and nothing of that sort is happening now on Shabondy) and he was unsure about whether or not the surprise would occur this year. For him to sometime later on give an exact chapter would be odd unless he said that like two weeks ago.
If Bonney does have an age-related fruit, the only effective use I see it being is if she's able to age her opponents on contact or something like that. Though recently devil fruits have had relatively advanced uses going beyond what the fruit seems to be on the surface.

Uhh, no he said someone would die "within the next two years" or something like that. He didn't specify the arc. Then Skypiea ended up taking longer than he expected and it still wasn't over by his estimated time of the death.

Hum, great chapterm liked it alot, I'm really staring to hate these nobles and hope that the Sh's will whip thier asses, but Bonney seems to kinda like Zoro, like I could see a friendship from both of them!
Anyway, I don't know why everyone is bitching about chapter 500, if your so damn disappointed then stop reading One Piece, JEEZ, Oda never stated that he would do something big, so stop saying "awww man, this sucks, blah blah blah", your taking up pages for nothing, even on the spoiler board for this chapter, many pages went to complaining, it's not a big deal weather he does something big or not, One Piece will be great regardless if he does something or not, so please stop ranting!
