How an object can "eat" a devil fruit

I don't know if this has been discussed, I never really read discussions too much any more.

All I know is that I've figured out a viable explanation.

Wapol.

Being one of the richest men in the world and having a widely-known conglomerate, Wapol has made a name for himself. He's gotten the attention of many, and possibly the world government and the scientist Vegapunk.

Wapol House is the most logical way (right now) to conceive these bizarre weapons that have "eaten" devil fruit. Since Wapol is technically more machine than man right now, it makes sense that the devil fruit haven't affected him in the way Jabura has said (they'll blow you up).

Plus, this would be a great way to introduce Wapol back into the mix.

If this has been discussed, let me know so I can close this thread. But I think it's fucking ingenious.

they went directly from drum to alabasta right? Wouldn't Mr 4 have had his dog cannon before he got the code name mr4? I mean their whole battleplan with the molehill and all relies on the dogs baseballs projectiles.

I dont see Wapol getting his empire up and running (after his little strange adventure where he eats all kinds of stuff) getting the fame then the attention of Vegapunk and everythhing done and done before the strrawhats land at the desert country.

So Lasso must have been made in some other way imo.

The question is, how long did it take for Wapol to get his conglomerate up and running? And also how long did it take them to get to Alabasta?

But all I'm saying is that it's a viable solution that makes sense.

If we ignore the time it takes for wapol to build his empire and for Vegapunk to contact him and order a pistoldog and only look at the travel time. first of all wapol had to go to some other island and then from that island the canondog needs to go to mr 4 and then to alabasta. Can this reasonably arrive before the strawhats arrive at alabasta via a direct route?

If you think it can for whatever reason I will immediately agree that it is a viable solution.

The idea seems interesting. However I will have to agree that the distance between Drum and Alabasta makes it seem unlikely. While we're on the subject. If Vegapunk works for the WG how did Mr.4 get Lasso? I doubt objects eating Devil Fruits is common knowledge and even if it is the method must be difficult.

I think it's something along these lines. I always imagined someone pouring the Elephant Fruit's juices on Funfreed as it's being forged.

It's public, Vegapunk invented a way for it to happen and like a lot of inventions, they become public knowledge and people put them to use.

Dr. Vegapunk somehow extracted the spirit of the devil in the devil fruit and insert it to the object

but that is assuming that Dr. Vegapunk already knows the full outline of how devil fruit works
and that somehow Mr 4 and Dr. vegapunks were good friends…...

Every object with a Devil Fruit is related to the government, to which VegaPunk works.
