hey who likes musashi?!!!

Wrong place.
-
Wrong place I'm afraid. Since your new, you should check out the FAQ's.
-
Moved. It's not really Manga/Anime, but I think most of the forumers knowledge come from Manga/Anime, right…?
Sadly, I only have general knowledge of Musashi from whatever I heard from other people and Dr. Slump Arare-chan by Toriyama ^^; I should do some readings.
-
Kinda weird question.
I know him mostly from Vagabond, in which he's a pretty cool character. I really wanna get Yoshikawa's book and then see Mifune films.
-
MIYAMOTO MUSASHI!!!???
that guy fricking pwnz. Saw the movies, Read the Manga. But I haven't read the book.
He is one hell of a samurai.
-
Thing is, though, I don't like to learn about someone through fiction. I wish there was an auto biography or something….
-
I'm sure there's plenty of those. There's got to be plenty of records of him.
-
It's a bitch finding them, though. I've never seen anything confirmed to be true except for the really general facts.
-
Try looking for the Book of Five Rings, Buc.
And I think this was made to discuss the PS2 game…
-
Um… wrong section... this is for the game right?
it should go in the Media Section
-
Miyamoto Musashi was a damned cool guy. Musashi by Eiji Yoshikawa is my ALL TIME FAVORITE book. It's such a great read, I highly recommend it. I came very close to writing my independant study paper on that book.
The Vagabond manga is based off Yoshikawa's book. As are the movies.
The Book of Five Rings is another interesting read. It's a bit hard to digest at first, it's a lot of info in a small amount of text. But it can be applied to the modern world as well as to the Samurai times.
Edit - To clarify - yes, he was a real person. But the account Yoshikawa wrote was fictional…it was actually in some ways a World War II propaganda novel. (Some ways..not all) And...uh...if this is for the video game...oh well ^_^* He didn't specify. The book is much cooler, anyway. says the uber history dork

Oh it's a game? Move it again, then. Gagh.
-
yeah Musashi: Samurai Legend is a ps2 game, very fun! dubbing is HORRIBLE!
don't know much about the actual Musashi character though
-
About time someone made a topic about the game.
Well,I'm up to the Mnt Terroir stage.
And the dubbing for this game stinks to the high heavens. -
I'm enjoying the game, it is really fun.
The dubbing is pretty bad, but I've heard worse.
My only problem is the camera that will be you worst enemy in a boss battle. I ended up facing the screen and swinging at nothing during every boss battle.
The game's story and special techniques are really cool. I like the learning system for special moves and the interesting enemies.
I just passed the Angry Angler Hellstew mission.
On the real Musashi topic:
I'm a big history fan, so if someone could give me a link to a small bio of facts about him, I might pick up those books you spoke of and give them a read. I just read Tale of Genji and enjoyed it, but that's obviously a whole different era. -
um… need help on the game
I'm at the Hellstew mission, but I'm stuck in the Pepper Grill place, I talked to the girl, and she asked me if I wanted to go take on the mission, and then I agreed, but now all she's doing is slicing up the stupid fillets, and I can't advance to the next area..... is she suppose to teach me some new technique? I can't seem to do anything......
please help
-
While she isdoing those moves, lock on with R1 and fill up the focus meter (it happens almost immediately with her). When the ! appears press the Square button. It will say technique copy, press O. When you press O you have learned the move. It's the same as stealing techniques from enemies, but I didn't expect it from her at first so I kinda stood there for a minute confused before I tried copying.

oooh thanks man
-
FULL METAL ALCHEMIST. WRONG TOPIC!!!
-
okay…. now I'm really confused.... are we talking about the ps2 game, or the actual guy?
