im not sure if this has been done before but i dont think so sorry if it already had mine personally is the current fishman island saga - ice hunter, thriller bark and duval arc
What was your favourite one piece saga?(posibble spoilers)
-
-
CP9, I guess. Lots a plot twists, revelations, emotions and good battles.
-
Cp9 is quite a good saga that
is my second the only reason i didnt pick it is because i went on holiday twice and i saw the saga in three different parts -
CP9 followed by baroque works.
Also you can't have a "what's your favourite…" with mention of Arlong so an honorary mention for the East Blue Saga just for the Arlong arc.
-
@Joey.:

i was gping to do that becuase the arlong arc is one of my favourites but that would mean too many poll options ect sorry

Fishman Island for Thriller Bark. Also love Baroque Works for the Alabasta arc :3
-
CP9 saga or in other words
Water 7 & Enies Lobby sagabut the Big Event that has yet to come it will be something…...
-
I like that people have voted for fishman island saga even though it has barely begun and we haven't really seen anything of it yet…
-
I enjoyed a lot of the simple East Blue Archs, like Kuro or Don Kriege.
The Arlong arch was pretty good.. but the second half was way too formulaic. It was ridiculous. Every action seems staged exactly in the main characters favor (hated that)
As for the epic archs, I really liked Arabasta and Water 7 the most.
-
The CP9 Saga, but strictly because of the Water 7 arc. I'm a fan of human emotion, and this arc, complete with plot twists aplenty, satisfied me in ways I didn't think possible even for One Piece.
-
CP9 and arabasta.
I love epic fights.skypia <_< is the only one that i didn't enjoy

well its a bit of a foggy subject becuase it technicly started on the ice hunter arc
-
Ice Hunter arc? Do anime fillers count?
-
-
… XDDDD
I think almost anyone knows mine.
CP9 and Water 7. Because nothing's more square than that. <3333 I disliked Skypiea because it's pretty boring... >_> I'm pretty hard to satisfy. Satori FTW.

This. I was totally kind of still interested in one piece, but with the slowness of K-F I had lost interest. My friend pointed me to anime6 and i ended up blowing through water 7//cp9 within the last like, three weeks (I'm on the ice filler bit).
I was really impressed with the character development and the emotions involved. I thought it was awesome. One of the only arcs that made me seriously weepy.
I feel like Franky, cryin' at everything, lol.
-
I must hop on the bandwagon here and say CP9. Not only did it introduce quite possibly some of the best One Piece villains ever (Kalifa, Kaku, and Lucci for the ****ing win!), but there was the character development, the outrageously epic fights, the emotion, and last but not least, the humor (dos fluer grab, anyone?). Personally, I think that CP9 was a masterpiece. .
-
^….breaks into song SO-GE-KIN-GU SH-IMA-DEEEH! Character development FTW. CP9 is such a popular arc. Because chicks dig the emotion and epic squares. I agree all the way.
-
-
I loved the cp9 saga for davy back fights/water 7/ and ennies lobby
I love the fishman island saga for thriller bark and the now red line part
-
I actually really liked Skypiea. It's practically the definition of romance, which is what One Piece is all about; a band of adventurers risking their lives just to GET to a land that no one has seen for 400 years, and they will almost certainly never be able to return to. And I also loved the emotion behind the ringing of the bell- what it meant to the Skypieans and the Shandians. Plus, compared to every other villain up to that point, Enel was the most psychotic, and threatening, frankly. Buggy, Kuro, Krieg and even Arlong were just petty criminals, Wapol was an asshole but he didn't actively kill everyone on Drum Island, and even Crocodile only wanted to create a "paradise," which yeah- might require parching and blowing up a few Alabastians. But Enel aimed to kill everyone, and was more than capable of doing it in a competent and non-bumbling way.
On the other hand…....
CP9 is way more awesome (in my mind, I include Water 7 in CP9). We see Robin's mournful and dereshi-shi-shi-filled past unfold while following a conspiracy that leads all the way up to the most powerful group the Strawhats have ever faced; each one able to keep up with or surpass (at times) any of the Strawhats abilities. The settings were awesome, the fights were great, and the magnitude of everything was so very high (a rankyaku that slices the entire tower; a gate thousands of feet tall, the sheer power of Lucci; Monster Chopper; Zoans by the handful; Buster Call; etc.).CP9 gets my vote.
-
Enies Lobby was too drawn out and boring, which is why I went with Baroque Works. Other than Enies Lobby, Water 7 and the Sea Train were fucking epic.
-
the lobby attack part of water7/cp9.
-
I liked Baroque Works, but really, really, really love thriller bark.
-
Ill go with fishman island since TB is sorta under that catagory and this mariajoe arc
-

You mean anime or manga, or both?
Anyway, I'm going for CP9 for obvious reasons.
Though I have a feeling that the Fishman island arc is gonna be the best yet.
Seriously, it has the most incredibly potential mix yet.
-
CP9 Saga was too serious and dramatic for my taste, though it introduced some very interesting characters to the series: Franky, T-Bone, Wanze, Blueno, Jyabura, Kumadori, Fukurou, Funkfreed and Spandam.
-
I dunno… Nothing topics Baroque Works in my flavor. For some reason, it feels more detailed than the later arcs(manga wise).
-
Wow, even though I mentioned my favorites, I completely forgot about Thriller Bark.
The second half was amazing. Probably one of my favorites, up with Arabasta and Water 7.
The pacing during the fights was wonderful. Pretty much the opposite of what I disliked in the Arlong fights. It's just that the way things were set up seemed more realistic and frantic. With fights blending into each other, and people actually waking up after getting knocked out. Plus all of the twists with Kuma, and of course Perona vs. Ussop and Absolom's awesomeness.
Yes… I can only imagine how great it would be to actually read that arch all together in an actual Volume format. =]

Note that there isn't a Thriller Bark option on the poll.

mmmm
Maybe it's a mini-arch?
Heh :(
-
Thriller Bark is part of Fishman Island arc i think. Thats how Wiki has it listed since it came up on there way to Fishman Island

Enies Lobby/Water 7 arc.
-

By that logic all of it is obviously part of the raftel arc since it all came up on their way to raftel.
It doesn't really tie neatly in to Fishman island (yet). At least not like the duvall arc (they need Hatchan to show them the way and get their ship coated by the coater).
If anything it is mostly tied to the CP9 saga since they (Kokoro) forshadowed it as they left W7. But most likely it should be considered a standalone or mini arc
-
Fishman Arch isn't part of the Fishman Saga at all.
That's just like saying that The Foxy Arch is part of the Water 7 Saga.
-
I can't tell if you are trying to be sarcastic or if you are crawling on the padded walls nuts Lobster.
Fishman Arch? What arch?
Or assuming the h is a typo are you saying that the fishman island arc doesn't belong to the fishman island saga? Why? Wouldn't that be the defining arc of the saga?
-
Woah..
I meant Thriller Bark doesn't belong…
heeeeh (._.);
you are crawling on the padded walls nuts
…...................
-
our poll-maker don`t know how many arcs are in the manga
example: ice-hunter-FILLER :getlost:whatever to bring it in an order
arc
the beginning no rly arc just an introducing
(up to the end of morgan\zoro joins)buggy-arc first main villain
(up to the end of buggy)kuro-arc (up to kuro`s end)
baratie-arc (up to krieg´s end\sanji joins)
arlong-arc (up to nami leaving her village\nami joins)
(rivers-mountain) no arc…( beginning at lougetown...up to their journey to whiskey peak)
baroque-works-arc 1 (up to leaving little garden)
drumm-arc (up to chopper joins)
arabasta \baroque works 2 -arc (up to leaving arabasta(robin joins))skypia-arc (including jaya up to leaving skypia)
DBF-arc (short 1 (but like buggy-arc) up to end of the
fight against aokiji )water7-seatrain-enies lobby-arc (longest so far, up to leaving water
7\usopp,franky join)TB-arc (up to brook joins)
fishman-island-arc (beginning: flying fish riders end:???)
-
^The poll isn't about Archs, it's about SAGAs.
Saga's encompass many archs.
East Blue Saga = Alvida, Morgan, Buggy, Kuro, Baratie, Arlong, & the Logue Town Archs
etc..
-
Don-Q-De Flamingo seems to be mixing between the definition of arcs and sagas.
Jaya is imo it's own arc seperate from sky piea.
same with laboon, whiskey peak and little garden being their own arcs but still belonging to the baroque works saga.
And i'd seperate W7 and EL into different arcs.
LPS: does anyone other then you spell "arc" with an h?
-
than their should only exist 3 sagas
east blue-saga
grand line-saga
new world-sagadon
t think that was the actual point of this poll…it
s more likely which arc-was the best...also @ gorlom
not every island has to be an own arc...whiskey peak, little garden and arabasta had the same goal...defeating baroque works agents....so i think we could see them all as 1 arc(in different chapters hehe) but maybe my personally comprehension of an "arc" is differnet .....
-
LPS: does anyone other then you spell "arc" with an h?
Yesssss
It can be spelled with an "H".
-
Little garden wasn't all about baroque works agents. It primarily revolved around the giants imo.
And everyones definition of Arc is different really.
but sagas generally need to be tied together by plot, not by geographical location. which is why everything from laboon to (and including) alabasta is the baroque works saga. (even if baroque works werent present on drum you include it into that saga rather then splitting the saga in 2)
LPS: Who? Source this please! I keep thinkinhg of a french monument in paris whenever you write arch.
-
@Don:
than their should only exist 3 sagas

new world-saga…..............
No..
There are already named Sagas.
1. East Blue
2. Baroque Works
3. Sky Piea
4. Water 7 -
named from oda…than okay
but anyways talked about arcs...
i get it that some adventures could be combined as a saga(just wanted to say that how you judge one could be called as a saga and the other1 as a arc is wide open...like Op as a hole is also a saga...than my ocean-related saga summary...and than in specific more detailed like LPS said)...but sagas generally need to be tied together by plot, not by geographical location
but okay in that case
(don`t now if their anything stated by oda himself orso) -
Wait.. no
I wasn't stating anything officially from Oda. Just what fans generally accept.
Drum gets placed in the Baroque Arch because it's in the middle of it (and Vivi+Carue are with them as well)
The Foxy Arch is the only one that doesn't seem to fit into a Saga tough. It's so short, and even more so in the manga. Plus it's just right in the middle of two big Sagas. As people normally say that the Ao Kiji encounter signals the start of Water 7.

so "generally fans accept this"???
lol yeah than its fact:grin: also even if the most believe your comment it didn
t have to be right.
why should be drumm in the baroque works -saga…nothing to do with it so it`s NOT tied together by plot...so drumm-arc is separated from this saga but located in the middle of this saga in the manga..also why you could say their is a east-blue saga but their isn
t a grandline-saga at all doesn
t make sense....east blue had a few arcs and they could be combined and at the grandline have a few arc and sagas but their we can`t say grandline-saga... -
there isn't a grandline saga because 90% or more of the entire series will end up having taken place on the grand line. There is an "east blue saga" because the first few short story arcs all take place in the east blue.
Saying "if there's an east blue saga there must/should be a grand line saga" is not at all logical. And unless I'm mistaken, canon arcs always belong to a broader saga (filler arcs can too, but they can be harder to place).
-

i said a "grandline-saga" AND a "new-world-saga"…..and i said this cause when we could say a east-blue-saga(100chapters) than we should also be allowed to say a grandline-saga (400- 500 chapters orso)
only think all complaining about this is that their isn?t a saga in the east blue arc but skypia- and baroque works - etc saga in the other1and i think not every arc belong to a saga...cause some doesn
t have anything to do with the surrounding sagas....so in my opinion they can
t be judge as a piece of it..
