Kamera's cosplay WIPs

Well, I decided to post here for opinions on a concept I've been thinking of. Since I tend to stick to cosplaying as characters with glasses so I'm not blind, I thought human Brook would be an interesting choice.

EDIT: I'll post pictures once it's underway. Though I do have a question about his sunglasses: what is the chain on the left side of them? Does it connect to the other side as a necklace-type deal? Or is it just a chain on that side of the frame? It's hard to tell with his hair, so any opinions would help.

I think you should stick with a male version. I'm a girl, and a very short one at that. If the height thing bothers you, buy some platforms. There have got to be a million different types on ebay, for fairly cheap. If that's too much work for you, just go your normal size! I cosplayed a 5'5" Rob Lucci, and nobody gave me crap.

Also, Brooke wears a suit, so it's much easier to hide any girly assets you may have. If you're more full figured, people here will definitely have pointers for binding that can help you.

You think so? Well, I am NOT full figured, so binding wouldn't be a problem. I'm about 5'5'' without heels, so I'll probably go with platforms just so I can be taller than the others in my group.

Don't be afraid, go for it. And I wish you the utmost best on your work. It's always good to see more people cosplaying Brook. I'm still working on redesigning mine myself.

The only thing I worry about is if I meet up with a male Brook while I'm wearing it. There'll be a perv war! I'm already going with a crossplaying Shigure (Fruits Basket), but he's only into high school girls, so I'll be safe with that one.

But yeah, I love seeing people cosplay as him! Never seen one in real life, but the ones online are always awesome! I wish you luck on your redesign!

We have a Brooke in my upcoming group too, and everyone in our group is relatively the same size. So she decided to get platforms, just to have that edge over the rest of us. :D And since, like you said, you're not really full figured, a nice fitting suit will help mask any womanly curve you might have.

Well, I just spoke with the group I'm going with, and they've told me that I MUST cosplay as a woman (every cosplay before has been crossplaying, so they want to 'challenge' me…) So, apparently, I'm sticking with the cosplay. I think I'm going to change the original design sketch up there, though. Doesn't seem right to me anymore... I'll post a new one.

EDIT: Never mind, I'm just going to ignore them. Crossplay it is!

Nothing wrong with short people.. as even wearing platforms I wouldn't even ATTEMPT to be average height =_=;; (being 5'0'' sucks sometimes..)

I think you should do normal Brook, a lot of people don't even approve of 'femme' versions of characters a lot of the time, so if it were me, I'd just tuff it out and cosplay normal Brook ^__^ Good Luck!

I agree with the anti-femme. It's an interesting concept, but it tends to make the character seem out of place. Going by the opinions here, I think I'll just ignore the pleadings of my group, and stick with the crossplay. Thanks for the help!

Even Klayr, who is a skinny girl, is really working to make herself look SKELETON SKINNY. XD Also, I'm not really sure precisely what the things on his glasses are. I just attached a string of beads.

The beads kinda look like one of those chains that keep your glasses on your body if they were to accidentally fall off.

Junkeemunky- Hmm, how to look like Brook without killing yourself…A trying task!

Cactusmomma- That's what I figured too. In the manga pictures, though, it looked like both ends of the beads were attached to one side of the glasses. I'm just going to assume it's the necklace-thing, though. Thanks!

MoonNeko- Th-thanks! I decided to go with Human Brooke because of how few cosplayers I've seen of him. The expressions and singing were definitely the fun part, though!

sporkbot- Thanks! I almost forgot to bring the string for it when I was packing, too… Glad I didn't!

Ichnob- The cane was ridiculously fun to make! Hard to figure out the latching, though... Next step- learning how to play the violin! That should be...interesting...
