We have seen males with typical hair color (red, blond, brown, black) and some with unusal colors (pink, green, blue, grey -this different from actual gray that comes from old age, I mean little boy with greyish hair= Smoker).
We have see ranges for redheads= 'true Red'- Shanks to light shades of red the 'Coppertops' - Mr.9 and Neptune. We even have one for the darker side of red shades 'Auburn' = Kidd. Fanart usually give him bright red hair, but Oda's art shows he's on the darker side of red.
When we see blondes, they are usually the same range of vivid yellow (Sanji), to "dirty blond", (the current color Yasopp sports). I don't remember seeing the other side of the range in the manga, the really light toned blondes like platinum Blonds. I don't mean pure white like WB's 'stahce either (he was shown to have blond hair when younger but hair on head wan't that light no matter how white the 'stache was! so it doesn't count.)
That's why when I colored Cavendish, I chose a really light blond. We know it's most likely (please refer to below for disclaimer
) to be light toned no matter what shade it is due to how Oda shades his drawings. Buggy's light blue hair was not shaded in [HIDE]

[/hide]I say "most likely" because twice we've been thrown for a loop - both Yasopp Mr. 4 were shaded in black when their blond. So while its not 100% chance of Cavendish having light colored hair, its a 90% chance of it. He could be any light toned color -pink, lt blue ect. But I hope for a pale blond

How close were the color schemes of Baby 5 and Buffalo to you people's predictions?
TBH I wasn't expecting Buffalo's fur coat to be yellow-colored lol.

@ White Horse Cavendish - I like your attempt two it had more colours fill up, try adding some shades next time it really makes a difference.

Frankly I love the green for Barto's hair, only better color would be a blue ..but both Buggy & Vivi have that. We only have Zoro for green hair, but a different shade. Why do I like those two colors for Barto? Simple I blame my childhood in the 1980s! [HIDE]They were goofy and silly but I liked them [hide]

Unlike some, I really like Barto's hair color and hope it's correct. It's very Joker-esque, which suits him. Blonde seems right for Cavendish too.

Those colors are official as official can be, if not then One punch man coloring is fake too, Naruto coloring is fake too and that will be a huge mess up from viz.

Viz did not color these. It was someone or a group of people from the Japanese WSJ.

I've been slowly coming to the realization that relatively few (human) characters in One Piece have brown hair. Odd.
I believe it was discussed before in this thread, but yeah, it's quite weird. I seem to remember it was brought up during a discussion whether some newly introduced chick should be a brunette, and I did some research and found out that NO female character in One Piece canonically has brown hair. I'm not even sure any male characters have brown hair, as Sanji with his dark blonde hair is the closest example I can think of.
So yeah, unless the character already is unique in any possible way, brown is not a good guess for a hair color.

Face palms at myself for forgetting Brownbeard. Alright, so there are a few. However, for a long time, it seems like black, white (at old people) and weird colors like pink have dominated some of the regular colors like brown and even blonde.

Some time ago I said I was working on coloring a red-headed Barto. I'm not too disturbed (like many seem to be) by the green haired Barto in the unofficial coloring Jump did, but I still hope for a redheaded Barto XD [hide]
