So does this mean his color fluctuates like another poster had once theorized? We have orange for his gas form, and now blue on this cover page. Hmm interesting.

Yeah, it prolly changes color like i suggested on my prediction back then. But the anime is lazy and cheap so they´ll prolly ignore it :C

I don't know about that. The anime usually follows the color schemes pretty closely.

But this might be a special case since the color would fluctuate constantly… It´s not as simple as it sounds, at least not for a weekly anime

I do like how the orange and now light blue color scheme of Caesar fit the theme of fire and ice of Punk Hazard very well.

Seems like the anime should be happy.
They don't have to worry about his color scheme. They can just randomly color him whatever color they want whenever they want and it will be acceptable. If he's blue, green, red, orange, yellow, purple, ect at any given time we won't care. We will just think, oh he's that gas now.
I'd be fine with them showing him in like 10 different colors throughout the whole arc. And not sure how being a different color would be hard. Seems like it would be easy. Hell even if it changes mid panel, we could take it as "cool, we saw him change"

As an animation student, I can tell you that doing animations (such as color fluctuation on an item) within animation (such as the scenes of the episode itself), aren´t what one would call easy.
An easy task would be animating the color fluctuation if the character is completely still. And if he´s completely still, even his gas coat, it will look BAD, even with the color fluctuation.
And an anime, that has already less than half the quality than a western animation (they use 12 frames per second instead 25), and even further, a weekly anime, which has NO TIME… They won´t do that, they are lazy, they have a severe lack of time and money. They will avoid things that take effort. And a constant fluctuation of color on an animated element, it´s effort, believe me.
TLRD: Too much work for a weekly anime, no matter how cool or pretty it would look. Don´t expect it.

That's most likely what it is. When he's in his normal state the gas is blue, but when he is in the fully gaseous state it becomes orange.

I'd actually really like it if his gas coat would constantly morph from one color to the next. Always moving; always changing. Little swirls swimming about as if it were really made out of different sorts of gasses. Maybe a little vapor/fume affect around it.
.. Of course this would be way too much to ask for from Toei.. So.. it'll just be blue and randomly switch to orange when he's not solid.

Someone help me. Im trying to color manga pages on Photoshop CS6 and im not quite sure on how to do it. like which layer should be on top so I won't color on top of the lines and stuff

You can do a new layer and change its property from NORMAL to DARKEN. This will allow you to color the parts that aren´t black. But the best way is to make a lineart of the character/panel you want to color.
Make a new layer and trace what you need. After the lineart is done, you can make a new layer under the lineart one, and color there. -

Well didn't he say it was like vulcanization – so wouldn't it make sense? It's like his arm is the same consistency as a tire.

okay I don't watch the anime all the time so wait for screenshots uploaded to see the colors when they aren't shown on a cover.
So I just now saw the pic for the "Lady 3 Eyes" of the Bog Mom Pirates … I'm shocked I was close to getting the colors right! (jsut a few shades off)

Difference is… We haven't seen Bepo and Co. and Law has the exact same... Momo and Kinemon are new characters so I doubt Oda would give just different outfits and colors in the first color spread with them
- Kinemon and Law are exactly wearing the same stuff they currently do in the manga.
But we will see. I hope he will have orange instead of blue. Would fit his flames more

If you did not noticed it…its black that is dominantly given to non HP crew with clothes not orange. So I believe Kinemon will have an orange/another color besides black color scheme.

ahh Momo's scales may be pink, and he has no black, notice his 'spines'/'frill' (what ever you want to call it) that goes down his back and his horns are orange. So he has half of the colorscheme of the colorspread lol
…and if people really want to nitpick, I'd say Momo has the secondary color theme = orange and pink. Feneral Franky's shoulders are moer pinkish than red, and Chopper's pink hat is showing some.
