Okay, I know the general opinion of Ben 10 is less than favorable. Yeah, the first series wasn't too great.
But this new series is actually looking more mature and less annoying. I'm… actually liking it? :blink:
Hopefully it'll continue like this for the rest of the series.

Besides the disturbing incest overtones of the new series, it seems pretty uneventful. To me it just seems like "generic action series starring annoying hero #5739." Not bad, but nothing to write home about.
All things considered, I give it a score of one piece. Out of ten.
I don't like it at all. They took all the stuff I liked from the original. The original 10 aliens, the VA, and even the immaturity of the main characters. Now it's just some show with Ben 10 slapped on it.
Well, the fact that I can actually stand watching it makes it better to me.
It's nothing special. At least yet. But at least now I can watch it without cringing. Hopefully it gets more interesting along the way.

Correct hehe guess it'll keep him preoccupied during all the fillers.
But yeah I saw it, the show going for a more Bruce Tim-ish feel over the original version (Dwayne McDuffie even wrote the first eps). But I gotta say maturity kinda hurts Ben since that was one of the appeal of the original series, giving it a playful tone here he all business. The transformation scenes disappointed me too since they were more detailed with them in the original, they just rush them in this series unfortunately. Not too keen on the redesigns either.
But on the upside it not too bad, few of the aliens look interesting and the plot might pick up soon so…we'll see.

Kevin always had the power to absorb energy (apparently Ben forgets this in Alien Force). He found out he could absorb (copy) Ben's aliens and it later messed up his body. He was only able to stay human for a short while and had to keep the alien forms, eventually he mutates even further into some hodgepodge of all of 10 of the aliens and apparently can't change back. Somehow he seems to have managed.

At first i hated Ben 10, but then my friend told me to give it a try and it sorta liked it. Id give it a 8/10 (on a American Action Cartoon rating) since we hardly get them anyways

Meh, I didn´t like this too much. Kevin went from "I hate your guts" to "I´m drooling just looking at Gwen" in a freakin´ second, and he was able to absorb energy, not to adapt his body…
When this was announced, they said the plot was going to have Ben training some kids with special powers, it sounded like X-Men Evolution... but, like tonitonichopper said, they took off almost everything good, and if they don´t make the right choices, this will screw up even the timeline (we had a couple of episodes based in the future, and Kevin still was an evil alien mix in that future... evil and trapped in the No-void thing)

the whole training kids thing is coming later. If you noticed, next episode they meet a kid who had some kind of omnitrix like thing that made him turn into something that looked like Heatblast.
I don't see what was so bad about the first series. For the audience it's aimed at, the show is just fine.
I actualy love this series. ITs better then the original. Notice how it had a much more mature tone, They showed a wound on Ben and a character die(melting die)
But the mature tone added makes it even more generic.

The original was garbage, this isn't so bad, but it still lacks the finesse of old fashion HB originals like The Pirates of Dark Water and later CN incarnations like MegasXLR.
They´ll never have something as good as MegasXLR again… and that is very sad
They seriously need to bring MegasXLR back again.
As for the show, I never really watched the original. It was way too annoying for me, but I might check this new one out someday.
I don't like this new series. Everything's gone wrong:
1. Kevin's new power is completely different from his old one. He absorbed energy. Now he can absorb anything he touches? What's up with that?
2. Kevin never showed any interest in Gwen in the first series. Granted, they were just kids back then, but they haven't seen each other in probably five years and suddenly he has a crush on Gwen? That's just silly.
3. One of the great parts of the original series is that Ben didn't know the names or the powers of the new aliens when he first donned their forms. Now, he suddenly shouts out their nicknames and knows all their powers the moment he changes into them? That's crap.
4. Max looks really weird in the new art style.
5. They've made the series a little more mature by adding death, but they're over dramatizing it… just a bit. I mean, they have a Forever Knight blow himself up and then RIGHT AWAY that fish alien guy dies? At least they could pace it out a bit. Plus, they don't even show a corpse on the fish guy. He just evaporated. What the heck?

I called it wrong, so long ago. I guess this needs to be changed.
1. Maybe he trained himself to do that over the couple of years.

Trust me that idea doesn't sound that wonderful when you roll it around in your head for awhile or remember shows that've done something similar.
Though personally I wouldn't mind if they make an arc like that, just don't have it become the main thing in the show.

Meh, I'm really disliking this new series and these new Aliens. The old heros just looked better, and when they were coming up with new ones, they weren't half bad. Now this new series look like it'll end up being an angst fest with just upgraded heros of the previous, and the new Kevin is ugh. I liked Mr. Monstrosity version of him. Though he has said my favorite line from the series so far.
