No Fatalities = not a Mortal Kombat game. Mortal Kombat's main thing was being able to gore your opponents up when finishing them off. Without Fatalities, you take away what made Mortal Kombat what it is.

DC really has a limited amount of superheroes that people actually give a damn about, compared to Marvel.

Mortal Kombat hasn't been fun since after MK3. Especially with all the characters in the 3D titles that no one really gives a shit about.

I haven't cared about Fatalities since Mortal Kombat 3. Being a player of the series since the beginning (and dropping off around the time of Anthology) I was one of the fewer people around here that was able to spell and read at the time of the first game's release. Back then it was a huge deal but over time it's just like, "Wow…blood....decapitation....oooh...." I think taking out that aspect of it might help them to focus on smaller details making for an even better well-rounded game.
I think it's a really great idea. When I first saw the news on IGN I thought it was one of those dumbass 'LETZ SEE WHOSE STRONGR!' articles. I can't tell for the life of me why they didn't unveil that news on April 1st. It would have gotten "EVVVVVRRRRRYYYYOOOOOONE"

I'm with Greg on this one. Mortal Kombat was cool back in the 90's in the arcades and on the Genesis, but after MK3 it started to get a little old. I personally can't even name anyone after MK3 without cheating. This new game should definitely bring back some old fans and the new ones. I can't wait to whip Scorpion's dumbass with Green Arrow.

Am I the only one who's glad that there are no fatalities? I mean, for starters, having the DC characters brutally maim and kill their foes would go against their own personal philosophies. Hell, even Batman never kills if he can help it.
Second, I really don't wanna see Flash's spine get ripped out. Or any other DC guy for that matter. Imagining horrible acts of violence being done to them gives me the jibblies.From what I hear, in place of the fatalities as we know them are "brutalities", where they do some kinda signature 'end' attack. Or something.

From what I read, they didn't mean the bone-exploding brutalities from previous MK games.

The Developers are trying to aim for 22 characters.There could always be more then 22 characters but thats what they are aiming for.
So that means 11 characters for each series.6 characters have been confirmed though.

As I understand it only the DC heroes will use Brutalities. Fatalities are in, but DC villians and MK fighters only.

Armageddon had 60 characters the last two Sparking(Budokai Tenkaichi) games had 100+ characters.
