I've always known my favorite, but recently I've been thinking of some more worth mentioning. Post your top 5, and why.

Honorable mention: Sanji
-Not in the top 5, but he's my second-favorite character in terms of straight-forward battle.

5. Brook

• I don't know much about him (as I only follow the anime), but his abilities and his humor are both great.

4. Franky
-Definitely the oddest character in One Piece (Cyborgs don't really fit in). He's strong, has great attacks, funny (especially when he's sad & pulls out a guitar ), and is SUPPPAA!

3. Bon Clay
-Very silly indeed. An oddball cross-dresser who's pretty good at fighting makes for an entertaining character.

2. Blackbeard
-The darkness move where he sucked up the whole town & released it in one attack was amazing enough, but his ability to render a devil fruit users useless by contact at the cost of having to take damage for all attacks makes him very unique. The fact that he's so low-budget is funny too, and that he became a warlord without a bounty.

1. Ace
-My all-time favorite. I'm always prone to fire characters, but Ace makes it even easier with his coolness & finger-pistol ability. Not to mention I'm a lot like Ace in real life.

1. Brook
There's something about him being a living dead guy and how everything ties into that that makes me love him so. I also identify with him since we're both socially dead. (Bone joke!)

2. Usopp
Originally my favorite character. I loved how inventive he was and how much promise he had to develope as a character. He's also pretty funny.

3. Perona
I saw her as a force to be reckoned with since she could stop all the Strawhats except Usopp in her tracks. Also, I find her quite attractive, and I feel that was more to her that what we saw.

4. Sanji
It's his code of the cook that intrigues me. Oda writes passion well, and Sanji is his ultimate example. Remember how he feed Gin even though he couldn't pay? Now that's passion. Plus he has some great monologues.

5. Bon Clay
"In this world there are men and womennnnn! But an okama is a man as a womannnnnnn!" Bon Clay took a classic eccentric stereotype and made it enjoyable. He was like a Strawhat Pirate at heart. Gotta love that.

Honorable mention: Kuro.
My favorite main villain. He was my first big draw in the series.

5. Robin. Love her. I find her to be one of the most interesting characters, namely because we rarely hear from her. I did like Vivi quite a bit, but when Vivi left, Robin was a nice replacement. If Robin didn't exist, Vivi would have this spot. Love her powers, love her solitude, and love oddness.

4. Usopp. He pains me, quite a bit. Namely because of the Water7 arc. When he was crying and begging for Luffy not to fight his battle, I feel horrible for him. He felt guilt over being the weakest, and that made him one of my all time favorite characters. I liked him for being funny, but it was his emotions that made him my top 5. And Sogeking rules.

3. Chopper. I might be one of the very few Chopper fans. I don't like him for how "cute and adorable" he is. I did enjoy the "Kuin Spark" though. His relationship with the Doctor and Doctorine really made him interesting. It just felt that he was raised to be a prodigy, but never knew how to react to things. When he defeated his first enemy by himself in Skypiea, "I'm a pirate!" made me smile.

2. Nami. Ever heard the song "Always a Woman" by Billy Joel? That song pretty much sums up how I feel about Nami. She does cruel things. She'll punch Luffy upside the head one minute, and the next be side-by-side with him in the fight with Enel. She'll use Usopp to her cruel benefit, but cry when he painfully leaves the crew. She'll abuse Sanji as much as she wants, but she would always want him to treat her like a woman. That's an important lesson. Unless she never shows any form of love or compassion, a woman is a woman. Treasure her.

1. Kaku. The person who did the wrong thing and knows it. The man who smiles in the face of danger. The man who laughs even when nearly sliced apart. Kaku is a work of art in my opinion. I want to be so much like him. Yes, he tried to kill Iceburg, but that was his job. He didn't show emotion, because that would make the job harder. He had his opinion, but didn't let it destroy his performance. To be able to hide such emotion is amazing to me. And to be excited by a challenge. He is a shining light amongst CP9.

5.) Spandam - I just had to throw a villain in here. And Spandam has beat out Arlong, Crocodile, and Lucci as my favorite villain. I'm a big wrestling fan, a Mick Foley fan to boot, so the fact that Spandam looks like Mankind is just so cool. I also like the fact that he was a bumbling idiot and also a complete psycho.

4.) Brook - He's becoming one of my favorites, and I hope it's not just "New Strawhat Syndrome. He's really an original character, and I love his design.

3.) Franky - Great character design, great personality, great character in general. Loved this guy ever since he came into the series.

2.) Luffy - I was never that big of a Luffy fan, but after reading and watching the series for so long, I realize what a great character he is. He just follows his dream, is stupid but has a big heart, and pretty much doesn't give a shit about the most of the things he does. It might not seem like it, but he's a great leader, and is the glue that keeps the crew together. I feel like there are some things about Luffy that I can really relate with.

1.) Sanji - He's the character responsible for getting me into One Piece. He has a cool look to him, both badass and funny personality, and an amazing fighting style.

3. Robin - Good person, tragic past can be morbid but u grow to love her

5. Brook - come on if they can give a skeleton a cool afro and put skull jokes
on a perverted old man skeleton then it deserves a spot. Plus being
a musican helps

makes me every time smile for his comments or his reactions....great chara development and for me the guaranty that OP will always have his funny facet

1. Kaku - HEEEELLLLOOOOO!? He's,like the most fricken awesome square alive!(TAKE THAT, HUEY LEWIS!) Kills with his nose, has pretty eyes, and JESUS HE'S A GIRAFFE! GET IN THE CAR! Plus he's most cute when he's knocked out later in the arc by Zoro. <3333

2. Paulie - I find him to look like Westly from "The Princess Bride". How sexy, he works well with ROPES…. RAPE ACTION!

3. Rob Lucci - Badass with a pimocoat-wearing and drinking pigeon. Holy fecking shizz. Plus, I always get a kick out of his Hattori voice.

4. Usopp - Hey, I dig guys with long noses. <3 YAHRLY. Plus he's just such a sweet soul.

5. Perona - Why not? She's, like, more epic win. Cute style, long pink hair, and she has really cute mini ghosts. Though, there's always one mini ghost that seems special....more like retarded. cough

Honorable mention - Luffy. I love Luffy, I really do. He's like the cutest thing to walk the One Piece planet, he stretches, plus he's kinda smexah. splee

Honorable mention - Chopper. He's so sweet and naive and always trying to help. Also I love Oda's current style of Chopper. He looks even more adorable. :D

5. Luffy- Amazing fights, hilarious when he's not fighting, sometimes hilarious while fighting, and he's just so badass at times that you forget that he's an idiot. (I wanted to put Shanks on the list also. Oh well.)

4. Brook- He's just Brook.

3. Perona- Cute, evil, but when she's not in control of a situation her new personality is funny as well.

2. Cerberus- He may not of been around long, but he was just awesome. Also Luffy's taming was hilarious. Not to mention one of the heads was a wolf.

1. Kung Fu Dugongs- They might not of been around long also, but they're kind of just like the Cerberus, Luffy getting them all to be his disciples then wanting to follow him into the desert was just <3

1. Luffy. I love Luffy. He's loving, ethuiastic,knows his dreams… and by god his little rubber head isnt going to hold anything else. He's so adorable. XD

2. Franky. He's so freaking awesome. Shipwright ~ Engineer and I wanna be like Franky. It'd be awesome to be that confident in yourself. ...He's also very attractive .

3. Usopp. I comizerate with this guy so much. He's a poor average joe with a bunch of super heroes and monsters. I cheer for him to stick it out with the rest of them. I just wish he'd know how loved he was by his nakama.

4. Nami. Nami has more cajones than most other manga's side character MALES.Plus it's nice to have a female team member who isnt "giggle I'm a magical tank girl!" or slobering after the hero. She's smart, tough, knows her limits, and manges to hold herself pretty well.

5. Ben. He has to herd Shanks. Shanks is like a bigger, more sosphicated Luffy. You need a larger, more sosphicated nakama to handle that.

[Kaizoku-Syn]

5.) Kaku– What can I say that's already said about Kaku? He's morally what an Assassin should be. Do your job and ignore your emotion. Turning into a giraffe and having one of the biggest swords so far in the series is a plus. But especially he gets major points for "flying" across the city.

4.)Sogeking/Usopp -- So far he's one of the most versatile of the Mugiwaras. Meaning his constant creations of new contraptions is what made me more interested in Usopp, than this personality. But afterwhile watching the series for the longest time, I grew to like Usopp more as he matured a bit more in the series.

3.) Luffy -- He makes stupidity the cool thing to be. His innocence and his hunger are what drives the jokes in one piece (in my opinion). His fighting style has always been unique and awesome.

2.) Zoro -- he's a drinker, a sleeper, a fighter, and he does it while getting lost in a straight line. In my opinion he maybe near a standard shonen swordsman, but when Oda threw in those traits he easily became one of my favorites Mugiwaras. And fighting with three swords always help.

1.) Franky------ He's Supppppppaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!! The reason is he's a mans man. He can be tough while crying. And he creates things just like Usopp but in a much more larger scale! His eccentric personality gives him a shine then most characters in one piece.

special mention Kumodori!!!!!!! Only Oda can do Kabuki in such a bad ass way that makes you laugh. During Harakiri-Tekai is easily one of the most memorable lines that he does. Gochi..Gochi..Gochi ni narimashita!!!

[NuFiasco]

1. Franky- His design is amazing, and his personality is funny. Mainly his design though

2. Jyabura- He's frikken aweesome.

3. Marco- His laid back attitude is awesome, and he's supposedly hella strong

4. Ao Kiji- arararara~

5. Monkey D. Luffy- Sorry, but it was necessary

Honorable Mention: Gol D. Roger and Nico Robin

5. Fukuro, great design all around, quirky as shit, fun fight against Franky, one of the few enjoyable CP9

1. Blackbeard - main villian, is pretty much like Luffy only grown up and with brains. Number one manly character as well.
2. Usopp - my favorite out of mugiwaras, has a very cool look and Im pretty much like him in my soul, the same coward. 3\. Lafitte - sadistic tapdancing gaylooking man with a french name. What? 4\. Bellemere - a female with the most amazing design to my mind, I just love her haircut, attitude and pretty much everything else about her, shes the "tankgirl" type of a female character that I always love.
5. Luffy - hes love, enough said. And has the cutest look when unconscious. Honorable mention: Id say whole D family and whole BB crew, but let it be Auger, Sanji and Nami. Auger is fun to make fun of, including his rather weird hat, gloomy face and his name, and Sanji/Nami pairing was the thing that got me into one piece (I started it with movie 2).

3. Hina: Dunno what I like about Hina, maybe because she's the most dominant character in the whole of OP probably, and she's sexy too

2. Chopper: Cute and Fluffy, yet his human form is cool and badass and manly.

1. Robin: Duh, obvious choice from me. Smart, Sexy, Funny, Beautiful….awesome Nose, like her eyes too, all awesome. =3

This is a hard one. These are my current favorites at least.

2. Moria: My new favorite Schichibukai. Love his lazy "you do it!" personality.

1. Lucci: One of the main reasons I loved Enies Lobby. Also one of the baddest characters in OP. My favorite villain at the moment.

Crocodile: The pefect villain. Sadistic, underhanded, complete bastard, and great powers.

Spandam: Great creative villain. Funny, stupid, clumsy, and a complete asshole as well. He was another reason I loved Enies Lobby.

1. Luffy. Hes a just a Hilarious Kickass Badass Character wearing a Strawhat that you just cant help to admire.

2. Brook I love his character because he can play music and is hilariously badass like Luffy. And I love his laugh ad skull jokes. Yohohohoho!!!

3. Usopp/Sogeking. Usopp is awesome. He is an amazing sharpshooter and an Outstanding liar that always keeps things interesting. His "friend" Sogeking is so amazing. He as an amazing theme song and he locks on to my heart.

4. Franky Hes just SUPA!!!!!

5.Eneru HES FREAKING GOD WITH MIND READING POWERS!!!! COWER IN FEAR MORTAL FOOLS!!!!

It's changed a bit now I suppose

1. Moria - Not only did he spawn one of the best arcs I've ever seen, but he manages to act completely innocent and simple-minded, yet be one of the most craftiest, evilest and cleverest characters so far in the series. Not to mention he has a ridiculously wickedly unique design. The best villain so far in the series for sure. Oda at his best.
2. Brook - As soon as I heard about a pervert skeleton with an afro, I was instantly intrigued. Later, as his personality sunk in and he showed his stuff, I started to realize how great he was. Not only did he blend in perfectly with Thriller Bark, but he WAS in Thriller Bark, which is a great arc to begin with. As he keeps showing off new tidbits to h is personality (asking camie for money, putting opponents to sleep), it leaves me wondering what else he has up his sleeve to make me impressed, or even laugh.
3. Franky - Who doesn't love Franky? I mean, his design is great, his personality is great, his fighting style is great… Everything about Franky is awesome, and I love how he upgrades the ship. Not to mention, behind Brook he's the funniest Strawhat. The fact I'm even explaining WHY Franky is awesome is sort of ridiculous, since its a given.
4. Usopp - Usopp is by far the most human character so far. I like his fights, since instead of just using huge proportions of power, he manages to outwit his opponents and use stealthier, cowardly attacks. Although not that evident, he gains more development as the series goes along, and it makes me glad that Usopp is finding ways for him to coexist with the behemoths of strength on the rest of the crew.
5. Fukurou - CP9 was a lot of fun. However, Fukurou has always stood out to me. Not only did he fight Franky, but he has the funniest personality in the series in my opinion. He's so quirky and odd, and his laugh always makes me smile. Not to mention he that huge obese body, yet he's so agile. And if I didn't mention it, he has that zipper mouth, so he truly stands out in a crowd.

1. Robin. (SHOCK! HORROR!)

2. Kalifa. Her powers are awesome and totally creative. Plus, she's got the humor factor going on with her "Sexual Harrasment" quirk.

3. Sanji. He's just plain cool.

4. Brook. I find him to be very entertaining. "May I see your panties?"

5. Vivi. I think her peacock slashers were cool weapons, and I would have really liked to see her fighting skills develop further.

My favorites:

1: Spandam - I really don't like Robin, and he beating her up makes me feel better whenever I'm feeling down. Plus, I love his hair and whenever he goes into that psycho face mode.

2: Lucci - I like Leopards a bit, and he's really very violent, I love violence. Plus, like said before, he has an awesome pigeon.

3: Paulie - I think he'd be a hottie if he was real. Plus, he has all those ropes, and I've got a dirty mind.

4: Jyabura - Jyabura is really funny, he keeps insulting people and he makes me laugh. Plus, wolves are awesome. And I love his hair.

5: Kaku - I like his nose and his hat. Plus, he's really nice, and while I don't normally like nice, he's got a cool kind of nice, ya know?

Man, I like all the characters. But, if I had to choose my top 5:

1. Zoro - The character that got me into the series. Cool attitude, awesome fighting style, and has really cool fights. I also like how even though he's usually stupid as hell, he has occassional bursts of intellect. It also helps that I'm a sucker for sword-wielding characters.

2. Brook - Love his personality. I never expected a living skeleton to show up in the series, but he did, and I'm glad. His skull jokes are so stupid, but funny somehow at the same time. It's good that he has a fencing style, too, so his fights will be different from Zoro's.

3. Kaku - My favorite CP9 character. His fighting style as a human is really neat, and his giraffe forms are awesome and unique. Interesting how he's both nice and sinister at the same time, and actually seemed like a decent person, minus the killing and stuff. He also happens to have my hair color, so, uh, plus 1?

4. Franky - The most bizarre character (other than Brook) that I've seen in a long time, and I love it. There's simply no character like him. His cyborg abilities are pretty neat, and I like his pillar weapon in Thriller Bark, as well as his normal brawling style. His random poses are hilarious, as well.

5. Robin - I kinda like how she's the "plain" character of the group. Her powers are pretty unique, and are really painful to watch in action against enemies. Her indifferent attitude towards most things leads into some dark humor, which the series mostly lacks. Pretty neat character.

Here's my five, with a few examples of them at their best- their 'crowning moments of awesomeness'

Usopp: Smart, funny, big nosed and braver than he thinks.The fact that he's an idiot and a braggart and an over-emotional teenager just help his better qualities shine all the brighter.
Crowning moments:
*Rescuing Robin from AoKiji
*'Usopp spell' on Enel
*"I'm ALWAYS negative!"

Nami: The crew would fall to pieces without her, and her irrationally violent exterior hides a surprisingly sweet nature. I just wish she got more time to shine.
Crowning moments:
*Deflecting Enel's thunderbolt
*Discovering 'mirage tempo'
*Comforting Usopp after he loses the money in Water 7

Buggy: I always loved his design and his carefree attitude, but he found a special place in my heart after his cover story. Even if we never see him again, he's earned his place in the top 5.
Crowning moments:
*Making friends with Gaimon
*Finally getting the drop on Luffy at Loguetown
*Setting his sadly unsuccessful pit trap for the giant bird

Zoro: So strong, so fierce, so lovably stupid. He provides common sense and epic destruction in equal measure. Plus, you've got to respect someone who's so willing to cut their own limbs off…even if you wouldn't want to be them.
Crowning moments:
*THROWING A HOUSE. HELL YEAH
*Running into Tashigi
*Taking Luffy's pain from Kuma

Kaku: He's a really nice guy (not to mention a pretty snappy dresser)...who just happens to be an utterly professional assassin as well. I like the contrast. Oddly enough, I liked him rather less as a giraffe.

*Sharing a joke with Zoro after getting defeated
*"I am NOT a herbivore!"
