A good episode but what else would I had expected? About the voices… well, now it will be interesting whether we will ever see Franky and Okama in the same scene. Nevertheless, quite fitting, not as masculine as I hoped though.

My thoughts:
-Lulu's voice sounds great.
-I loved how they animated Luffy and Nami freaking out when the money was taken.
-Franky's voice… I liked some parts of it (the "OW! OW! OW!" at the start, and other things), but I was disappointed that he sounds almost EXACTLY like Bon Clay. I just hope he's able to sound gruffer or something. But he was able to look and sound menacing when talking to Usopp, which I liked.Some shit's gonna go down next episode.

I was a bit surprised too, not what I had in mind for Franky. But I have faith in Kazuki Yao, he's definitely got the versatility & talent to do Franky justice.

What about the animation was bad? Just curious. The last couple of episodes had pretty nice animation. I guess every now and then they get in a rush and become sloppy. Or the better animators take a break.

The only time I thought the animation was noticably bad was when Usopp blew the door down. That looked really awkward.

Just a tad sloppy. I noticed Franky was slightly misshapen while sitting down, Nami and Luffy's faces stuck out a tiny bit too much, Pauly and Lucci looked a bit off from the manga, etc. Still neat, though. Better than the pre-G8 anime.
EDIT: Oh yeah, Usopp's body somewhat when he was shown in full.

The animation style looks to have reverted back to how it was in the previous filler. It does look a little off, but I personally don't have any serious problems with it.. the style changes so often I try to not get attached. I'll miss the beginning of Water 7 a bit, but if the rest of it will be like this episode.. then that's what we get. It's not an especially bad style, it just seems experimental.. and their hair always looks wet to me, not sure why.

[snapback]54548[/snapback]**Kappei is an amazing seiyuu… I've always loved his work ^_^ He's a good bit of why I love Usopp so much... I like the character as he is, but Kappei's voice gives him so much more.
And lol, I was sitting there thinking Franky sounded a little like Bon Clay... I should have known it was the same seiyuu. I think he can pull it off though, the nasal whine isn't there, so it sounds pretty good for Franky to me.
I can't wait for the next episode... oh man.. _

ok watched it and the drawings are sometimes really messed up and frankys voice is a little strange but next ep looked better.

Yeah, the last episode and this one had a little less nice animation/drawings as the great animators are most probably focusing on the important upcoming duel.
Not a bad episode. Lulu and Kougi's voices fit perfectly. Franky is a bit surprising, as I expected something more manly, but it sounded good when he was talking seriously to Usopp - well, different from Mr.2 - so I guess it'll be ok. As long as he doesn't shout "Jodan janai wa yo", I'll be fine.

Kazuki Yao, playing his third Flamboyant Lunatic. I shoulda seen it coming, although I was hoping for something new for Franky. Ah well, that just means he gets ANOTHER goofy character song. ^^

I think that Kappei Yamaguchi has a tendency to overract immensionly, but that works perfectly for Usopp's character.

Just watched it. Liked Franky´s voice though it had Bon Clay specific´s at some points. I´m sure that Yao will grow with the Franky character. Even the scenes where he wasn´t talking to Usopp had some new yet similar voice elements. I think he´ll give us a very good Franky shortly.

In that thing taboo posted, it said that Oda had a part in the voices. I pray that he doesn't really think of Franky as Water Seven's Bon. T_T

I think when Franky hams it up, Kazuki Yao could handle him quite well. But during the more somber, intense moments I worry, can he deliver something that's truly believable?!

Franky sounded a little too much like Bon Clay at the beginning there, and… it was kinda weird, but while his voice wasn't as deep as I'd expected it to be, I thought he sounded really good when he started talking to Usopp. So... a little surprising, and while I think it would have been nice to have someone new and a little more masculine sounding, he sounded pretty hot, and I think it should fit him well, and I definitely like it.
Just took a minute to get over the initial shock.The animation... x_X.; It wasn't really that bad, but it was heading in the direction of the style that I don't like, and just looked a little weird in some parts. O_o.; Hopefully it'll go back to how it was in the first episodes of the arc before this one; I thought it looked great then.

i didn't watch the ep yet, but toei know their stuff when it comes to VA.
usually the voices fit perfectly well the characters and i think it will be the same with franky. toei must have already thought of how franky should react in the sad parts and it will just fit well!
