Nah, he was a lot less impressed when he was looking at God.
This chapter combined hilarity and action beautifully, as well as showing Sunny unleashed. Simply awesome. I tried predicting what Sanji was doing to Duval's face based on the last page, but it wasn't clear. It'll probably be funny, though, since this is mostly a (very good) gag arc, like the Davy Back Fight.

So the fastest ocean going creatures are Mermaids huh? So Keimie's probably going to be a decoy of sorts during the Gyojin Island arc.
Despite the complaints about the "horrible design" of the Thousand Sunny when it first showed up, I think the ship's shown that it truly is the ship of the Future Pirate King. Not only can it get the crew from place to place, but it's extremely versitle, and fully armed. It truly is a dream ship.
Oh, and add me onto the list of people who are waiting to see post surgery Duval.

Zeff was said to be able to leave footprints in steel. I guess if the steel was thin enough he'd be able to break through it.

Yeah it took me a while to realize that Luffy is starting to get that intimidating spirit that Shanks has after seeing how he made that bull pass out. He's progressing but has a hell of a way to go to be able to do it like Shanks.

Yeah, but honestly, I don't understand how either flying fish or merfolk could be the fastest in the ocean. They just aren't hydrodynamic enough.
In the real world, the fastest known fish is the sailfish which is a type of swordfish. The sailfish can reach speeds up to 110 kph. That's over 68 mph. So, can merfolk really go faster than that? I doubt it. I wanna see a one piece adaptation of the sailfish later. That would be awesome.Also, I just looked up the top ten fastest fish in the world, and the 9th fastest is the four winged flying fish at 56 kph or 35 mph. So, it's understandable that they're fast, but still, that's only half as fast as the sailfish.

What I find weird is how normally people reacted over the thing of Luffy breaking free from a steel cage by just bitting through it.

For the first time in a long time, I'm having difficulty playing along with the reactions of the crew… they almost seem fanfiction-ish to me. Hopefully after the next few chapters I can look back and it will seem better.

Luffy eating through the cage was a sign of growth, since he couldn't do it back in the buggy arc.

Oh dear, Luffy's face after the cannon shot totally goes straight to the top with Enel, Perona and last week's Duval.
Also noteworthy: Brooke's laugh in the first page.
All in all, a hilarious chapter, though the story doesn't exactly proceed.

But Zoro doesn't use strength to cut steel. He uses his mind. I don't think it would have made a difference whether it was underwater or above water if Zoro is to cut steel.

It´s very funny how people were pissed about not going to FMI when Thriller Bark, a nice arc with a main villain, started, but now there don´t seem to be any complainers.
People, if you don´t like what you read or if you think it was boring or that the last 4 chapters felt stretched like Oda was holding back sth. for chapter 500, you can say it.
I feel too much acceptance going on here right now, come on, the last 4 chapters feel like a slap to the face after the amazing pace AND the comedical features TB delivered. I like One Piece this much because sth. like Shabondy arc rarely happens. Ok, it´s supposed to be a funny arc, but Oda´s definitely got the skills to make EVERY arc funny and plotwise important.
So just getting one of these features disappoints me. Maybe the plot relevant piece of the story will kick in next chap… -

TB is one of the best arcs to me, its right up there with Enies Lobby. I'll be happy when we're done with this "Duval" business, althought I will admit, it was pretty funny.

Any chapter that can get me rolling in laughter is a great chapter and it did reveal a few important details. Quite a few things happen here, Sunny's capabilities which none of the crews knew about except Franky, wonder what else he hadn't revealed.That the merfolk to be the fastest and most agile as long as they are not distracted which is why Camie got caught a lot since she seems like a ditz and also Luffy's apparent growth.

Also, epic feat: Aura field. All enemies 10 or more levels below yours automatically faints. Enemies 7 or more levels lower panic. Enemies 5 or more lower are shaken. Er, some people won't get this joke.
