Wasn't there a male-voiced cat who turned into a woman in Bleach.
Kubo bailed the anime out on that one by having her comment on how people are always surprised when they find out that she's not a guy.
Except for one thing. I always thought Gamabunta was THE frog summon, in that he's like the strongest frog you can summon. But now there are like two other frogs at Gamabunta's level? Color me confused.
Does it say they're as strong as him?
What did I just say?
Luffy batter just streight up ignored you
btw Yonkou has been on this site as the same time as Jimbei before…but you probably wont believe me and say that my info is false because i hate you or some bullshit .
While I won't disagree that Naruto's sudden strength is poorly developed, I prefer this to the lame Naruto. And, to Jiraya credit, Naruto has yet to face the force that killed him. He's just beat the summoner (who Jiraya could have easily kill on his own) and KOed the absorbing guy. Btw, why did Pein send out the absorbing guy when Nartuo wasn't using a chakra attack? Stupid.
That said though, this fight will definitely escalate. The individual bodies of Pain are only kind of strong, but then it all feels implied that the original body, Nagato, is incorporeal and controlling these bodies or something. Or he just possessed Yahiko, I dunno. Basically, I'm predicting the Rinnegan will do something, that's obvious. Then that's where the new Naruto power ups will come in.
Batter was just annihilated.
And by one of my favorite posters at that.
This is a good day.
Edit: Naruto shouldn't dress himself.

The biggest strength that Pain has is that as powerful as each individual path is alone, they work much better as a team. It does seem a bit weird that Pain would avoid an all-out team attack of several bodies at once but so far he may just be testing Naruto to see his power. (let alone he has a team too with all the frogs and the knowledge conveyed by Katsyuu that the rest of the village essentially got raped by in order to give to him)

Pain sent out the absorbing Pein probably since he saw the Sage Oodama Rasengans that Naruto used against the summon. So Pain used a counter for that. Luckily for Naruto, katsuya told him that Pain's abilities so Naruto switch over to his physical attacks or frog katas. The thing was Pain didn't really screw up. Hungry Pain actually dodged Naruto's punch but since frog katas work like the kyubbi shroud were your punch reach is extended it connected with Hungry Pain.
Latest chapter of Naruto. The shonen hero showing up and kicking ass triumphantly is ALWAYS a good, tho cliche moment… but it really works better when the underdog sidekicks give it their all first. This was the great payoff chapter... but wihtout Tenshinhan, Chaouzu, Yamcha and Piccollo getting great sendoffs before they died, the satisfaction isn't quite the same, the villain just isn't HATEABLE enough, despite all the massive buildup he's gotten. I think its because Pain is being so blaise about his random killings, he's not enjoying the suffering of others, he's just... destorying them for no real reason.. Pretty good chapter, poor lead up to it, like others have said.
Heh.
Well then I stand corrected. The only AP book I really follow with any kind of regularity is Gold Digger, so forgive my not knowing. ^_^;;
GD is awesome, Ninja High School has had some terrible hiccups over the years, no harm in not reading it at all. Now would be a terrible time to start on Ninja High School anyway, its ending in 6 months. Though you may want to check out Maidens of Twilight, crossover of the two. heavy focus on Genn and Seance, finishing the first issue riiight now as a matter of fact. lot of fun.

I will share with you both my philosophy when it comes to debating in forums. It has served me well and spared me a lot of heartburn.
1.With any given person, if they bring up a point you wish to debate or debunk, feel free to present your case and debate them. Thats the entire point of the forum.
2. If at any point, their entire defense of their idea is "you are stupid", or "nazi" is used to refer to anything other than actual Nazis, skip straight to step 5.
3.If after your first post, they continue to completley disagree with your point of view, try phrasing your idea in a different way, or provide more evidence. It may be a simple matter that you were unclear, or did not support your opinion well enough, and a few extra points of reference will show them why you MAY be right.
Always bear in mind, you might be wrong and should be willing to also be convinced in the face of new evidence. (For instence, I recently learned Bon Kurei is a holiday in Japan, and so is thus probably Mr. 2's codename, despite my being SURE it was actually his real name before that. I immediatley conceded the point and formed a new opinion based on new facts.)
4. If after presenting your new, better phrased point of view a second time, , they continue to state their exact same stance wthout anything new or compelling, or conceding to any of your evidence or talking points, it means their mind is not going to be changed by any argument you make, no matter how many times you make it, because they are

In any of these cases, it is a waste of time to continue talking to them. You are wasting your own time formulating replies, and the time of other forum members to read your replies in and endless loop of not getting anywhere.
5. Be the better man, end the discussion, make a mental note in your head that you are clearly not going to agree, and move on. Find a new topic, or someone else to discuss with.
Corrolary. If a person is absolutley disagreeable, you can put them on your "ignore" list. You'll ocassionally see that they have posted and that will be slightly annoying, but you will be spared their ideas that are so radically different or insulting to yours, and by not seeing anything bad they may say about you, you will thus automatically not respond, and be the better person by default. Win/win for everybody.
Corrolary 2. If the conversation is interesting and stimulating, and both sides continue to provide new and different facts that support both ideas while conceding points the other makes while maintaining their premise, that qualifies as actual discussion, and might be fun to actually participate in.
Corrolary 3. Its completley possible to be a fan of something, but be dissapointed in any given chapter, or not know or remember specific details. (All the time I forget things that have happened in Naruto, because even though I know the series fairly well, it is 400 chapters long and its easy to forget small or rarely mentioned details, and there have been a lot of character names.) Dissapointment any given week isn't necesarrily bad, if you can explain why you are dissapointed, and thats part and partial to discussion.
Basically the 3 strikes and your out rule, but applied to idiots. The best part is? The ignore function isn't permanent. If they always post a lot or an interesting discussion seems to be going on, you can always unblock them should you change your mind.
There are a lot of awesome people on this forum. And a couple that aren't. Its the internet, thats how it rolls. Its not a crime to ignore people that bother you. Much better than bothering everyone just for the sake of an endless, fruitless and petty squabble. (Wow, its like I'm quoting Gundam ideology or something.)
okay naruto just pulled a sasuke and turned crazy powerful just like that….... i thought he'd have to at least more experience with sage mode to stand a chance.. guess that wasn't the case
@Salamander:
okay naruto just pulled a sasuke and turned crazy powerful just like that….... i thought he'd have to at least more experience with sage mode to stand a chance.. guess that wasn't the case
Well, thats only because we haven't seen the anime filler episodes yet where he experiments with sage mode by visiting Konohoa, eating and cooking ramen with his new powers, failing to notice Hinata being in love with him, peeking in on the women's bath in tribute to his fallen mentor Juraiya, defeating an old ninja from 20 years ago, going on an adventure with Konohamaru where they both use rasengans before the reveal that Konohamaru can use Rasengan, and then Naruto goes back to the frog training for another 3 days, during which time Konohoa gets nuked.
Converseey, he can go on a whole bunch of filler adventures in the frog village. Think of all the wacky potential adventures and marketing tools frogs can represent!
Oh, and a flashback to his training journey with Juraiya where he saw him use sage mode once… for some reason or another.
Just need to wait for the filler. We'll get the buildup and training time then probably. and then some.
It really is a shame that the anime filler's been doing a better job at fleshing out the characters and things better than the actual manga has.
Especially because, you know, the filler is still overall suck.
This chapter was actually pretty decent. First one that didn't seem forced in a while. Kinda read like a Bleach Chapter, but still… wasn't bad.
Two in a row! Wow! Haven`t seen the likes of this in Naruto since that AWESOME bone-fucker-dinosaur-god.
BTW what`s the deal with one manga? I wanted to read some Naruto chapters brought up in discussion here but it has said under maintenance for like 2 weeks. Did the man get to them?
shrugs Looks fine for me. Which chapters were you trying to look at?
Nice chapter. Only "tech" sounds horrible to me.
This thread…....
This thread is made of awesomeness and cheese....
It's the best I have read in a long while :D

Robbybevard…Be my mentor.
Btw King ty. Thanks for that post.
I hope his new jutsu has nothing to do with rasengan. i hope it just completely new wind jutsu or maybe of another elemnt or combination.
Wouldn't that qualify as a random "pull a move outta his ass" moment?
well, i'd assume a ninja who knows how to use elements can learn various jutsu of that element. sasuke did variations with chidori and naruto did variations with rasengan. In the case of fire techniques we only saw how sasuke learned the fireball jutsu but we all saw he has many more fire techniques in his arsenal. it would only be fair if naruto knew various wind jutsu's excluding rasengan. although i know rasengan would make it stronger but still something new and refreshing. now a whole another element would be outta the ass so scratch that.
the lastest chapter was rather entertaining. This may prove to be actually better than the shitt fight known as: Sasuke vs. Itachi.
Wouldn't that qualify as a random "pull a move outta his ass" moment?
That's the beauty of it! In one scene, Naruto is shown training after his master is sleeping (which I loved during this training. Finally a sign of character and initiative from the kid) working "a new jutsu." If Kishi is smart, he could give Naruto any one jutsu he wants and use that scene to explain it. Or two, hell, before that "Kyuubi roadblock" crap the training was going so well!
So yeah, really hoping for a new move.
I havent seen Naruto since episode 120 XD
CN did keep aring the Movies though
! Fūton: Rasengan Shuriken is throwable.http://p.pita.st/?kmbhieop
! Actually there are two new Rasengan techniques this week:
-The first, as mentioned before, is the "throwable" Rasenshuriken
-The second is "Rasenrengan", which is some sort of linked Rasengan
-Shikamaru is stopped by his dad from interfering with Naruto's fight because "he can handle it himself"
-The chapter ends with Sennin Mode running out of power…and with at least four Pains defeated

Am I the only one bothered by such a huge power jump? I mean from a barely usable Rasengan Shuriken to two new forms of it?O_O It seems a little much:/
Also, it's not exactly very ninjaesque for the villagers to not do anything and let Naruto take care of it by himself. Apart from making them look weak and cowardly, what happened to ninja tactics such as ganging up on an enemy?
Just some of my tiffs with the spoilers:/
@Thousand:

It probably comes with the genre. Which btw makes Pain the perfect cross between shounen laws and real ninja tactics. He can fight alone and still gang up on the enemy.
"My new secret techniue that I came up with is the same technique that I already used to beat an unstoppable enemy once, except it works this time!" Meh.
But maybe it'll be cooler with images, the last two chapters have been pretty good, like Kishi really did want to just get to that moment. (Which might explain why the entire invasion felt rushed, he just wanted to get to the part where Naruto showed up.)
On the other hand, him doing the two giant rasengans effortlessly last chapter was pretty badass and satisfying… so maybe him properly doing the shuriken rasengan will be satisfying too. The series is DEFINATLEY headed towards its end, thats for sure.
And he ran out of power, so there might be an actual fight now instead of a one sided hose fest. (As fun as those always are, I just don't feel any satisfaction from him beating down Pain, because he's such a dull villain. All 6 of him. Well... Sock Pain is awesome.)
meh cant say i care to complain. The series already sucks.
i just want it to end. I just wanna read the chapter in 30 secs as usual
What is sock pain and why is he called that and why does everyone love him?
@Yonkou#3:

He's gotten several nicknames in reaction to the hilarious drawing of his original pre-pain looks. The ones I know of are Sock Pain, Smiley Pain, Potato Pain, Rape Pain and Bean Pain.

He has such a winning smile.
This isn't related to the latest chapter, but I get news updates from Viz ever since I subscribed to Shonen Jump, and this was in the latest one, under the section on this month's Shonen Jump.
We’ve got news about Naruto that will blow you away! We're planning on bringing you more manga way faster. We've got a bold plan and it all starts with your favorite ninja! In Japan, the Naruto story is way ahead of the one you’re reading over here, so we're going to speed up the manga in SHONEN JUMP to get you closer. Don't get left behind — accelerate!
I kind of wish that they would do this with One Piece (as do we all, I'm sure), but the odds are that they won't with Bleach, as it's only a few volumes behind Japan as it is already. Going by what this says, though, they probably will be doing this with other series.
(Sorry if this is being discussed in the Viz Media topic, or was discussed earlier in this one, but it was the first that I heard of it)

Yeah it's been out there for a while now. I really, really don't get why Naruto has to go first but unfortunately that's the cash cow for Viz…and I think they fear people going online and reading it when they can speed it up thinking that it will allow Americans to be close enough to the Japanese. Preferably with OP much further behind, it deserves to go first...but if this is a company-wide movement with the Jump series, why not wait and see.
This fight doesnt make much sense to me in terms of the rest of the series….I mean Orochimaru is dead, Itachi is dead, since we are gonna have an epic battle of naruto vs Pein that means that all of the first part of the series will be over considereing Akatsuki will be finished i guess Madara will be the last fight of this series it all makes sense....sort of

There's still Konan, Kisame, and of course Zetsu. Plus the 8 tails, Sasuke and team Hawk, Danzo, and Naruto has only used up to 4 tails. This series my be near the end in the storyline but at least another year and a half.

There's probably 2-3 arcs left. Pain is only a appetizer for the epic Naruto showdown. There's still Nagato that Naruto has to beat whose probably in rain village with Konan. Kisame, Zetsu and Madara. I wouldn't be surprised though if Sasuke takes out Madara. The hyped up Naruto/Sasuke fight where Naruto uses Itachi's gift on Sasuke. Kabutomaru whenever he crawls from under his rock. Whatever the Raikage and his lackeys are planning and "the key" training.
I have 3 questions.
1.) When is Naruto Episode 208 going to air english dubbed on TV (Cartoon Network)?
2.) When is the last episode of Naruto going to air english dubbed on TV (Cartoon Network)?
3.) When is Naruto Shippuden going to air english dubbed on TV (Cartoon Network)?
I ask because I watch all anime english dubbed only, plus I love the dub of Naruto itself as well as the voices .

3.) No definite release dates then?

Well duh, why else would they stall on airing episode 205 for a whole freaking month?

No nononono…
At least Naruto still airs on CN.
What they hate... IS ONE PIECE. Well, actually, just anime in general.

What are you nonononoing about?
I am grateful for that it still airs, but it is still an insult to air the episodes so damn slowly.
Um, I actually don't mind watching the DVD version of the One Piece english dub, since it's totally uncut and unedited .

they've been busy promoting those shitty movies. so they've shown naruto, just not episodes.
and they're probably waiting, they don't want to be THAT close to japan probably, you run into problems with contracts/ratings if stuff were to go wrong.
they're probably just pulling a dragonball Z, they did this a lot when that was airing. Show one saga, repeat saga, bring out 2 movies, next saga… repeat.
@Baby_Naruto:
2.) I know, Cartoon Network sucks, or they just plain hate Naruto. Or maybe both?
Wow. There are no words.
….
I'll try anyway.
First of all, Viz may have stipulated a waiting period due to online distribution stuff they're trying experimenting with, so thats an entire seperate can of worms. For another, they're probably waiting for sweeps to air new episodes. That is, the three times a year where ratings determine ad revenues, to air new episodes, because they're at the end of the cash cow, and there's nothing else to partner it with anymore, so they want to milk hats left for all its got.
Second, the current material is less than stellar filler material Much of the fanbase may well be ignoring it, so it might not be ding as well, and thus there's less motive to push out more quickly. Anyway, that should explain to you WHY they're delaying it. But CN hating Naruto? Wow. Thats an amazing train of thought that deserves its own reply.
@Baby_Naruto:
2.)I am grateful for that it still airs, but it is still an insult to air the episodes so damn slowly.
Naruto got weekly marathons where they would air 6-12 episodes, owned two seperate New Years marathons, had hour long heavily promoted airings for every new episode backed against an old episode, has had all the movies aired… repeatedly.
CN loves Naruto, they've played it nonstop for almost three years to the detriment of anything else.
There is NO official word on them airing Shippuden or not, but it seems inevitable. Possibly not until summer or fall however.
In contrast, they have twice pulled Moribito after airing only 10 episodes out of 26, shoved all their anime to the 4:30 AM death slot, and cut One Piece off right in the midst of the Skypedia arc, shortly after the Funimation dub took over and the dub became... good, and there is no indication of it ever coming back.
They still air Naruto, even if its reruns, they're still playing it, which is better than anythng else they've got going right now. They'll get around to the remaining eps eventually. The insult is to every other franchise they had, they they ended because Naruto was doing better.
Cartoon Network loves Naruto. (and to some degree, Pokemon.) It'll be around. New stuff will probably be during sweeps.
Thank you.
CN hating Naruto….... What a laugh. And it pisses me off knowing what they TRULY hate.
