Printer w/ Scanner

Alright, well I consider myself a bit of an artist, considering I take classes and I appreciate drawing. Well, i have a few hundred fanart pictures of One Piece and Hunter X Hunter that I would like to upload onto my DA account…

Getting to the main point, I want them to be clean and visible, but I don't have a printer that has a built in scanner. Well, my mom says that printers w/ scanners (and printers in general anyway) often break down easily and aren't very unreliable. Is she telling the truth about this? If not, could you guys reccomend a few printers w/ scanners that are of good quality, yet not too pricy? Thanks.

Why not get a seperate scanner?

I recently bought a Canon LIDE25 (about $50) because my old scanner wouldn't work with 64-bit Vista. It's small and doesn't require a power brick.

For printing, you really need to figure out what you want to do, and buy around that.

If all you want is black-and-white, you should consider a laser. They cost a bit more up-front, but are much cheaper to feed. If you're the adventuresome type, consider a used HP Laserjet 4 or 5– they cost very little, can be networked, are cheap to feed, were built like tanks, and can be repaired cheaply, and often with do-it-yourself guides. New lasers are good, but they are much more "disposable".

Oh no, printing is fine. I have a decent printer, its just, I'm mainly asking for the scanner. Im gonna get a few more responses, then ask for it for my birthday. I'm only asking for Mario Kart Wii, some track stuff, and some drawing supplies besides that, so I'll probably be able to get it.
