Casting suggestions (with character highlights)

I know that the superior Funimation dub has been around for quite some time now. Still,I think it is never too late to start a casting suggestions thread.
I'm well aware that we have another thread for just that purpose. The difference this new thread,though,is that it contains posts called "character highlights" in which I talk about the reasons why I would consider the people who I considered casting as that character.
(Note:I have not watched One Piece beyond the end of the Alabasta arc,so don't expect to see any mention of characters beyond that point)

My first character highlight! It's a recurring feature in which I select a character and talk about the reasons why I selected those people to play that character.
Mr. 2 is one of the characters I feel the most enthusiastic about casting.
My very first choice would be,well,it's kinda tough. It'd be draw between
Tom Kane and Sean Schemmel. Why? I shall explain…
For all you Powerpuff Girls fans out there, Tom Kane was the voice of the cross-dressing demon known as "Him". With that feminine voice,I knew I just HAD to cast Tom as Mr. 2! On a side-note,it'd definitely be best if Tom used the exact same voice he used as "Him",and remove the echoey effect that was applied to it.
And for anyone who's seen Yu-Gi-Oh! GX,Sean did the voice of the flamboyant,
cross-dressing and effeminite-voiced Professor Crowler. Another top candidate for the voice of Mr. 2!
Now for my other choices…
Eric Stuart,IMO would be a good choice for Mr. 2. Eric was the voice of James from Pokemon. I've heard some people say that James from Pokemon sounds gay.
Gay,huh? Well,that'd be perfect for Mr. 2!
Some of you may remember Ted Lewis as Escargoon from Kirby:Right Back at Ya.
As Escargoon,Ted did an amazingly close impersonation of the voice of
Paul Lynde,a gay actor. Ted even used that voice for a few other roles he played.
Seth Green has earned himself a place on my list for the fact that he does the voices of a good deal of female characters on Robot Chicken.
Rob Paulsen provided the French-accented vocals of Antoine from the old Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon (known as SatAM). Antoine was meant to sound like a coward,but I thought he sounded kinda gay. IMO,
gay voice = decent voice for Mr. 2.

Phew,that was a lengthly first character highlight! You can be sure it won't be the last!

I remember doing something similar a while back, and I planned on making a new thread, insteading of resurrecting the old one. Anway, here's my dream picks for OP voices…

Straw Hat Pirates

Luffy - Tom Kenny (I've always believed that he could pull this one off
Zoro - Marc Diraison (because he's so awesome, I'll keep him)
Nami - Grey DeLisle (in her Frankie voice)
Usopp - Jack DeSena (that's right... Sokka)
Sanji - Steven Blum (he was Ken, in Street Fighter Alpha - The Movie)
Chopper - Wendee Lee (she could use her "Young TK" voice, from Digimon)
Robin - Veronica Taylor (if not for 4Kids, she would have been PERFECT)
Franky - David DeLuise (He was Coop, in Megas XLR)

Villains

Buggy - David Willis (though Mike McFarland is doing a damn-fine job)
Kuro - Jamie McGonnigal (I like the "snooty butler" voice)
Krieg - Mark Thompson (his FUNi voice sounds too young)
Arlong - Dameon Clarke (Jurota Kosugi's Arlong = Dameon Clarke's Perfect Cell)
Smoker - Kevin Conroy (Google the name and you'll understand)
Wapol - Sean Schemmel (Sean did a great job as him)
Mr. 2 - His 4Kids voice (he made the character work, but you know... 4Kids and whatnot)
Crocodile - Clancy Brown (in a tougher Lex Luthor voice)
Eneru - Dan Green (Wayne Grayson's good, but Dan was made for this role)
Blueno - Brad Garrett (his voice would fit the character like a glove)
Califa - I've never given much thought as to WHO could voice her, just as long as she had an English accent and could act.
Kaku - Rob Paulsen (he's a man of many vocal talents, and a personal favorite)
Lucci - Ron Perlman (using his Slade voice)

Others

Mihawk - Antonio Banderas ('nuff said)
Ace - Frank Frankson (I'd pick him over Travis Willingham in a heartbeat)
Shanks - Brandon Potter (either him, or his VA from the Singaporean dub... both are good)

Doing a fantasy casting for One Piece voices is no longer as easy as it used to be, since FUNi came into the picture. Because they're doing such a great job, many of the voices I wanted during the 4Kids era are fading from my mind! Even when I read the manga, I no longer hear Marc's voice, I hear Chris's!
