May I be the first to say: holy hell. The people at Boston Dynamics have developed a new robot that is able to carry backpacks for soldiers across difficult terrain (it can carry up to 125 pounds and maintain a decent speed) Pretty noisy as fuck, but some things about it seem pretty organic.

Now, if they can just scale this puppy up by a factor of 1000 we can crush the Rebels in a matter of months! Victory to the Emperor!
EDIT: Seriously though, how soon can they get them outfitted with machine guns? Can you imagine the psychological impact a pack of these things coming over a hill would have on people?
-
It's so creepy…

That's creepy, but really awesome at the same time. I thought it actually had real dog legs at first!

And 20 feet tall
Like the ones in Animatrix.. Wait, imagine if the AT-ATs from Starwars had flexible legs like that
(the normal ones are a poor design..)and Lol at You Tube comments :s
This video creeps me out. That robot could EASILY kick the crap out of all those researchers. At least with a wheeled robot, you'd have a chance to escape. This one could kill everyone in the video, then skate away from the murder scene unharmed.
I reckon thats just 2 guys in suits walking around
why would you make something like this?
its so creeppyyy! Is it just a way for you mad scientists to earn a living getting paid to come up with future war machines?
Yeah, well done…go on stick a gun on it..
You arses -
Fudging awesome.
-
I want one. Not for its intended purposes of course, but for the annoying sound it makes.
-
Pretty amazing how it can keep its balance like that, being a robot and all.
In other news, I just got Rick Rolled again. And I was totally expecting it this time.
-
That thing was pretty creepy. I think they should reverse the legs though, put the back on front and the front on back. It's walk wouldn't look so odd then.

Then it wouldn't function properly…
-
Sounds like a swarm of bees, needs to be quieter.
-
If they can get it quieter, then that would be awesome. For that noise, I agree, it should be anywhere from 30-50 feet tall and shoot either lasers or ginormous miniguns. Either way, can you imagine the sheer terror of the enemy?
-
Pretty nifty. But creepy as fuck. If I were a soilder, I'd probably shoot that thing on sight accidentially or something.
(Vote SSM for no draft)
-
That thing is too weird. It's cool, but I swear I'd shoot it without a thought if it was coming at me
-
Why the fuck is everyone in the world calling it creepy? I didn't find it creepy at all.
But wait, this thing is suppose to follow troops around and give them supplies? The enemy will be able to hear that 20 miles away and shoot the living shit out of them. That thing would only make their job harder. Put a muffler on that thing!
I'm saying "that thing" too damn much!
-
It's a supply train
you take those when the enemy knows where you are anyway
this thing isn't following you into stealth missions
-
Could you imagine if they programed that thing to be an assassin?
Painted black and clinging to the rafters
