They make tires by melting rubber, right? You think if Ace and Luffy teamed up, and Luffy got slashed, Ace could melt the wound and let him cool and he'd be healed again? Or maybe just someone who has fire with them.

But Luffy is a paramecia type- he still has a human body, thus the water in his cells would boil, rupturing the cell and causing damage to the cellular membrane. He's not really made of rubber- his body is rubber.

Also, He's so far shown resistance to the material prosperities of natural and synthetic rubber. In Drum Island he did not suffer from his body becoming stiffer, and in Alabasta he did not start to melt and become more viscous.
