did Kisara just say that she's learning something about her balance from being thrown so much? if she's able to come up with a counter to Chikage's throws in such a short time, that'd be really impressive.
Throughout this month, we will be testing new features (like search) so you may experience some hiccups from time to time. We'll try to not be too disruptive...

Cars, is that you ?

Now maybe I'm just in a good mood, but I only see good in this chapter. Miu is apparently indestructible, which I'd like to see more of in feminine fighters. Their fight got intense, Kenichi got to look like a cool guy and counter a move, and yet I didn't expect what happened next. Kenichi doesn't rescue Miu, no, he reaches out to her again, and actually gets out of her hulk-state and counters. Now, she's doing a cool guy pose and will probably beat Rimi in front of Ryuuo, of which I'll get a special joy. She's especially not a good character.
Also, what's Ryuuto's deal? This arc marks the second time he's "wanted to talk" to someone and does nothing. I swear this dude gets a kick out of wasting time.
-
TITS!
I mean..fighting.
Can someone explain to me, this battle trance Miu seems to go into? I'm a late jumper onto this story.

Miu was brainwashed by Junazard into some mindless berserk warrior and when she releases her ki the memories resurface. Kenichi was able to bring her back to her senses so she can fully control her power.

Fine chapter, preferred the boxer's progression versus this coming back "again" from the mind rape. But wasn't bad by any means. Obviously very ecchi, but that's how this series is so whatever.
But anyone else getting annoyed by the ripped clothing. Seriously keep the clothing unripped or just remove it completely. The ripped look is more annoying and distracting than either would be.
-
It really only bothers me now because that's not how spandex rips. It certainly wouldn't barely stay on like that. When it goes, it goes. Also nobody else suffers wardrobe destruction aside from the gals. If the guys have no shirts, they usually took em off or flexed so hard they shredded lmao.
-

The reason only little bits of the spandex is on is because Miu has realized that her clothes always get destroyed and has super-glued certain sections on the areas she doesn't want to show the world.

Huh, that makes sense. I always assumed Miu just sweats syrup. Makes as much sense as the cloth physics of this world.

I think I'm gonna need two hands and a bottle of Aunt Jemima's for this one.

So I'm up to Chapter 27 (and almost done with the "Three Man Squad of Valkyrie Arc" according to the Kenichi Wiki), and I'm not very into it and thinking of dropping it. Am I really missing out on anything pass this point in the series?

Maybe? I dunno this isn't a manga I give high praise too like I would for One Punchman and Magi. It's alright, it's not God awful like Air Gear though.
If you like seeing a wussy boy become a strong martial artist and don't mind fan service. Stick with it I guess. Has some over the top fighters that come in later.
-
well, I love the hell out of this series, and it gets a lot better from where you're at, but I won't hold it against you if you aren't interested.
The art gets better, the fights get better, and the fanservice gets more plentiful and explicit. So, if those are the areas you think are lacking, then keep reading.
here's a taste of what you're missing -

Good thing about this series is that Kenichi is actually progressing A LOT from weakest guy to toughest of them all… I like that. And still has his good heart without becoming cocky, or having the typical shonen "must-eat-everything" protagonist quirk ^^ Yeah, he's a neat character.
-

The story is easy to follow so that's a bonus. It doesn't get rediculous and can be just a nice easy read every once in a while. Basically its just Kenichi training to be stronger in order to protect Miu. Other things go on such as rivalries between people and or organizations but it all comes back to the main part and never forgets it.
I think for that reason I have kept reading. I usually only drop a manga if its gets too complicated and out there. When you have to read a chapter or page multiple times or an arc over again to understand what the heck just happened thats usually when i drop it. As someone said above, examples would be like Air Gear. I believe Tenjou Tenge went all crazy weird as well so i dropped. Gantz is another one. There are more, but don't remember, I just recal those cause they really went all strange crazy weird that almost made them memorable in that sense.

Serious question: Is there any direction to the plot, any progression of some kind?
I dropped this a while back, and I'm amazed that we're STILL just having a congaline of fights against Yomi/Yami members; Even characters who've been beaten once!
Is any sort of conclusion in sight, or is the series going to run for 300 chapters more? -

Is any sort of conclusion in sight, or is the series going to run for 300 chapters more?Beyond Kenichi befriending some of Yomi fighters there was not much progression. I guess when the final yomi members are defeated the series would enter the final arc, that's why the author has been stalling for time with the titan team.

Well, it actually doesn't look like it'll go on more after this Yomi/Yami business; lots of the character & the story's subplot has been resolved or underway:
! 1. Kenichi is still progressing of course, but now he's regarded as a top-tier in the disciple's dept. (so the only remaining path is to upgrade his class, if the author chooses)
2. Half of the Yami (or was it Yomi… the Masters side anyway) has been defeated already, and since this is essentially the quintessential Good Martial Arts VS Evil Martial Arts, I don't really see how the story can go on after this
3. Half of the Ryouzanpaku Masters have met their rival, and their past has been resolved. So there isn't much storyline there as wellI hope that could answer the progression part. As for the 'going for another 300 chapters' part…. I feel the current pace is fine, so it shouldn't take that long to wrap up the series. The only thing remaining is how far/deep is the author going flesh out the Yami (again the main organization), because I don't think it's past has been fleshed out enough.
oh. and hope he doesn't try to milk the series by introducing alien martial artists
-
Haven't they been fighting Yami for like, 300 chapters already? If they're only half done, and since the final member/s should take longer to take down, it doesn't exactly indicate an ending in the forseeable future.
Wow, main bad guys or no, these guys are going to stick around longer than Aizen! Or that guy from Inuyasha, wossname, is he the current record holder for Longest Continually Fought Enemy?
-

Well. True that. The reason it got stretched out this long is the introduction of Yomi. So we're getting the fights between the masters n their disciple, thus twice the length. But I think the author handled it pretty well, the fights wasn't repetitious (both the masters & the disciples).
But I'll have to differ about the Aizen part, Yami is an organization so we have various characters acting as the main villain, without that annoying central figure that lingers n overstayed his welcome.

The reason it's taking so long is that the author goes into full detail in exploring the characters, developing them and finding the appropriate time to resolve their story arc or seeing how they fit to progress the story. I assure you there is a feeling of progress going on and not just random battles that go in circles ala Inuyasha. Also the fights in this series are the fucking best.

Naraku? I don't think it's that bad. Because some characters changed sides or got new masters or whatever.

let's run this down.
! Ethan Stanley- beaten
Fists of Braham Master - deported?
! boris - beaten
alexsander gaidar - beaten
! tiawat - beaten
agaard jum sai - beaten
! shou - beaten
hongou - fought once, still active
! radin Tidat - beaten
jenezad silcardo - beaten
! rachel stanley - beaten, somehow still around?
diego - beaten
! chikage - at large
jiu-jutsu lady - at "large"
! odin - beat earlier, may not pose a threat
kensei - still sticking his nose into things
! hermit - rivalry still there
Ma Sougetsu - still around
! one fist disciple - probable final fight
miu's dad - the boss behind the scenes
! by my count, there are 2 more disciples that Kenichi can fight. Chikage will be dealt with by someone else or by friendship power, and Rachel really shouldn't count anymore. Odin's a bit of a wildcard, though.
! on the other hand, there are 6 Yami Masters, though I could see the Fist of Braham master just getting skipped.in my opinion, especially considering the way characters have been talking about this Dark Dawn or something, the series is heading towards a final confrontation, involving the 6 ryozanpaku masters matching off against the 6 remaining Yami masters, and Kenichi fighting whoever the final yomi ends up being.
I'm thinking somewhere near 100 chapters, but I'd like to be pleasantly surprised and get to enjoy this manga for longer than that.

Hmm. Here's my thought
! Fists of Braham Master - deported?
(more like out for a while, like u said, it's unlikely that we'll skip his fight)
! hongou - fought once, still active
(his character n rivalry with Sasaki has been resolved, so I don't think we'll see more of him)
! rachel stanley - beaten, somehow still around?
(I would think of her as no longer relevant)
! chikage - at large
(and I think the current arc will serve to resolve her character too)
! odin - beat earlier, may not pose a threat
(…a real wild card there, seems like he's got his own agenda)
! hermit - rivalry still there
Ma Sougetsu - still around
(these 2 r also interesting, I'd prefer Hermit be resolved with his current fight. But his master is... mysterious, wonder if he'll get another fight with Ma Kensei) -
well the fight ain't over till they complelt naked so I think its just gonna be one more chapter of the miu vs rimi fight. Nice to see silat showing through in her fighting style.
-
Is woman's clothing made of tissue paper in this series?
-
It's flypaper duh.
-
On a related note, why do their nipples always seem to be erect?
Are they just perpetually aroused?

Could be a bit cold. Also getting hit directly on the boob will do that too.

On the subject of combustible clothes, I think Mashima's made a huge mistake here. Rimi's gained her latest power up well after both fighters have lost much of their clothing. As such, my suspension of disbelief is being broken. If Rimi's attacks are really stronger then ever, then more damage should mean more shredding but that's not happening. Those last bits of fiber must be the strongest material in this world…
Also, this fight is going on too long. It should have ended last KO, I really don't care that Rimi's life in on the line. She's willing to kill you over a crush; over a boy she's had ample time to talk to, ask on a date, but no, murder was the easier option. There is no drama here, this is the stupidest reason for a fight yet. I'm sort of looking forward to her being wheelchair buddies with Ryuto after this is all done. I just hope we get time for the rest of the fights, they all have far more promise then this one.

This isn't fairy tail, lol.
The artist is Matsuena Syun.

Forget about Rimi. Miu can defeat her anytime. The problem is… doing it without killing. I think that's what the autor wants to show us with this fight.
Miu killing Rimi accidentally (or for the purpose of surviving) would be great. But it won't happen.
-
I'm reading Tidat and,for such a simple series, these are some completely out of the left field plot twists right here.Like,so random and weird.
! First some random bishie is Silcardo Jenazad.
! Now,some comic relief character is actually FURINJI FUCKING SAIGA in disguise.
! Next up,Niijima is from another planet!Oh wait,that's not much of a twist. -
sigh Rimi is super annoying. Is this arc done yet? I'm tired of her and her stupidity.
-
I really hope Rimi dies, but only if we don't get shit loads of chapters about Miu being traumatized by not being able to save her.
-
They'll be a wheelchair couple now…
-
Rimi is just going to hard with this love for ryuto. is it just me our des Kesie treat his disiples as test subjects. He making kids put their bdies at risk to advance his studies of martial arts. It should be the other wayaround

Ha! Second funniest page this week. So much rage, battle wear, and near nudity packed into one page.
The rest of the chapter is just Rimi being dumb. Was this chapter supposed to just drill that in? She takes one thing a dude says and dedicates her life to it. I can't help but think how this all could have been avoided if they just talked to each other.
-
Well, someone who adresses herself in third person can't be that bright…
-

! Welp, Rimi is dead and Kenichi/Miu are pissed.
-
Wow, this outcome his strangely satisfying, and not in the malicious way many have hinted before me. Plus, Kenichi is being unexpectedly badass. I'm liking this master's character, he's a special kind of evil.
I'm wondering where the fights go next. Kenchi vs. Berserker, now I can accept that they have no real reason to fight. Chikage at the very least seems to be building to something, so I wonder when we're getting back to that.
-
I can't say I'm shocked Rimi is actually dead, but I'm a little bit surprised. Surprised that she died (like everyone said she would) rather than just ended up crippled like Ryuuto.
but Kenichi, darling, what are you doing. you are going to get your shit smacked.
-
It's about time a master or 2 showed up and this Arc can end already, even though Kenichi stil has to release his Ki of course… Where are the masters anyway? I forgot.
-

This must be when the salary man disciple appears (what was his name?)
Rimi's death, Ryuuto's lack of reaction and Kenichi's overreaction because Miu was bitchslaped was all a bit disappointing.
-
!
This page was awesome.
I'm liking the outcome. Not a good chapter, but I at least got something out of it.

a character who has the same way of speaking is hina from onepiece.Hina is a far better character that Rimi bar far even though she's hardly gotten any panel time. And Hina isn't doing it in a cutesy way. The execution is much different.

that's probably part of the character..the contrast between how she acts and her way of speaking

Kenichi will complete the technique with his ultimate sei technique. Therefore humiliate Ogata because only a katsujin(?) can complete his technique.
I'm calling it right now.
