I'm probably more fond of Luffy over Zoro, but both are cool. In badassery, it's a tie – they both have their moments. In fighting strength, they're probably equal. In comedic value, Luffy has a slight edge, but Zoro's deadpan is nice at times... and, when he gets pissed.
However!!
Usopp owns them both.

For me, it's Zoro, for lots of reasons I don't feel like listing. However, I will say that the whole three swords thing is unique and different, plus, he had an interesting reason for it, which I like.

anyway, it's just way to hard to decide for me. i like them both pretty much the same. at 1st i liked zoro better, than luffy, then both. i'll just vote zoro cuz he's losin' :P.

It's impossible for me to choose. They're just too even, imo. Zoro doesn't make any stupid jokes, but I really like his level-headed style. Even though he's also kind of a bonehead. :P
I feel that even that no matter how big the crew gets, they're truly the duo. They go perfectly together.
About the Usopp thing….eh. I didn't even care for him much until I saw the Kuro arc animated. To me, it didn't come down to his nose or his low level of strength, I just didn't really dig 'em. To each his own, I guess.

Zoro's logic and mentality are what help make him great, in my oh-pinion. Just look at Mr. 3's wax trap thing. While everyone else is panicing, he strikes a pose he wants to be preserved in. And his idea to escape? He tries to cut off his own feet. That still cracks me up. Especially because he actually tried it, and still has scars from it. =P

I dont like hate him hate him i dont hate any one piece character really. I just dont like him as much as i do the other characters. ussop can be pretty funny at times but i dont like how he is so cowardly :) if it makes the ussop fans happy i do like him better then chopper :D

I love how he's cowardly. But really, he isn't. He's a guy that I could take in a fist fight, but he goes up against monsters like Arlong and Ener. I'd never, ever be able to do that. It's his humanity that makes him so popular. Instead of trying to beat enemies with any one skill, he uses his brain for the advantage.
I was never that wild about him, though. That is, until chapter 367.

How far in the series are you? Usopp acts cowardly a lot, but then he does some very brave acts as well.
And you don't like Chopper? I didn't think ANYONE disliked Chopper. :P -

like i said i dont hate chopper i just dont like em as much as nami, zoro, and luffy. Sanji is cool too i suppose i can't really judge robin yet because i havent seen her in action much yet

Yeah, good point. :P Luffy, Chopper, and Robin have devil fruit power. Zoro and Sanji both have years of combat training. Nami even has many years of experience as a pirate since she was a child, learning to survive in a dangerous world. What did Usopp have? Nothing. He grew up in a town where nothing happened, and he's fighting people and things that no normal human being should have to face. Kind of hard to call him a coward.
It's sort of a cliche, but there's a saying that bravery is facing what you fear. Without fear, there is no courage.Eh so he knew what he was gettin into by joining luffy

It's pretty obvious that he really had a completely different idea of what life as a pirate was going to be like. It was kind of a rude awakening for him.

I, like most of the people here, really like Usopp, but I haffta say, If I'd only seen the dub, i'd probably kinda dislike him. That voice makes me cry….

I love everything about Luffy. As a character, he's somehow totally original, and while the stupidity could be a little irritating once in a while, he's someone who I would love to be friends with. Zoro's an awesome character as well, but Luffy holds a completely different charm for me.

I loved both Luffy and Zoro continuously since the very moment I started reading One Piece. Luffy's fantastic easy-going attitude coupled with a nice dose of badassness, and Zoro's great laid-back behaviour coupled with the rare badass-yet-funny.
Then came the Alabasta Arc, and Luffy's fight against Crocodile.
Luffy officially became the most damn awesome character in any series ever. The events in Water 7 only strengthen my choice.
Luffy, you rock in uncountable amounts of ways.

Luffy, without a doubt. He's my favorite character, he's so adorable! And he's funny and pretty stupid, but I like the cute, happy-go-lucky idiots. ^^ And when he's serious, he's just so freaking awesome! And he's so dedicated to his nakama and he's a great captain and just….squee. And when he faught Crocodile and he was all bloody and everything and....God, like Mog said, he just officially became the most damn awesome character in any series ever.
Yeah, I'm a total Luffy fangirl. ^^;;
I do love Zoro too though, he's my second favorite. I just love the interactions between him and Luffy, thier relationship is just so perfect, they seem to understand each other better than anyone else in the crew and have this connection that doesn't need words to be expressed. Probably my favorite part of the series is the relationship between those two. noddu noddu

Zoro!! because he is a swordsman, and uses 3 swords….. I always love swordsman. beside that, I always love when he never questioned his captain's order.
luffy is also cool, he is such a great captain, I love when he does his captain act XD ooohh so cool........
but if I have to vote them, I vote Zoro :) -
