I have to give a "How To" Speech on Monday and I am having hard time choosing a subject.
At first I was going to have fun and teach people how to do sarcasm, but quickly dropped the idea. It would have been really neat, but I get nervous and it would harm my speech. Someone gave a speech on Procrastination, and while the idea was funny, it was ruined by stage fright.
I have narrowed my speech topic it to these ideas:
How to Play Go
How to cook variation stovetop Ramen
How to write your name in Japanese (Katakana)
Of course I am open to any other ideas anyone else may have because mine seem a little dull.
It has to be 5 minuets at the most (I think) so I have to pack all the basics into that time.
Basically what I am asking is if anyone has any good ideas for topics or for the speech in general (i.e. what you as an audience would like in a speech, etc.)
Also, for those who know how to play Go, what are the basic rules I can teach? I've read the 1st chapter of this "Go for Beginners" book, but cannot figure everything out. How to count territory is one thing that really confuses me and forbidden moves. I was thinking that the rules that came with the American box would be easier to understand.
Thanks for any help.
