Is there a particular reason that chapter threads are getting locked when a new chapter is released?

Basically to prevent people from discussing about ze new chappie in them.

There must be a better way to deter that. What if people still want to post about an old chapter?

Mmm! must be a recent mod trend, because most of the older chapter threads are still open. Anyways, I'm not fussed either way.

i say old chapter threads should be kept open, in case of people still wanting to discuss old stuff. we can always raise warning level / delete posts if people bring new chapter discussion to old chapter threads.

i will talk to the other mods about this.
