I'm pretty sure you can only download them. Onemanga and Higher Voltage have the old scans of Part IV (Which were very poorly translated, in case you didn't already know.)
Part IV is my favorite. So, I'm really looking forward to reading it with a proper translation that doesn't remind me of the subtitles from those Chinese One Piece bootleg DVDs.

this series is awesome, I read part 1 and 3. I'm currently reading part 2 an man is it dope.
I had a question about this series. I'm considering starting it sometime. I actually have read some of the first chapters, but I can't get myself further than the first several or so.
Anyway, from what people are posting, it sounds like it's not totally necessary to read this series in order. Naturally, I'd try to read the first part, but then I'm just wondering if I can just go onto 3 or 4 from there or something.
You could skip 1 and 2, but why would you skip part 2 when it's one of the best in the series?

You really should finish off Part 1.
It's not that long, and it sets up the whole Dio thing that most of the later parts focus on in some major way.
I wouldnt skip any of it. Its not meant to be read that way. IMO its all good and JOJO is classic. Plus part 1 shows just how evil Dio really is and why hes one of the worst villians ever created. 
It's just kinda daunting seeing how long this series is…:unsure:
Anyway, I'll try to take another crack at finishing part 1 at least. Hopefully, I'll get absorbed into the story soon enough...
part 2 has alot of tie ins with part 1 just so you know.

So, I finally picked up on Part V again. I lost interest in the series about a year ago after reading through Beach Boy and Grateful Dead. But today, I felt like reading on. I just finished Giorno's fight with Babyface, and I'm ready to read on. I'm still hesistant about reading Part VI after everything I've heard. So, I'll probably skip over it and start with Steel Ball Run.

Well with my recent decision to move Flame of Recca from "read online" to "buy legit" (mostly cause of how impressed I was with the series even after about 4-5 volumes), I finally started JoJo tonight from the start of Pt. 1. Got through 20 chapters before calling it a night. A few comments:
-Somehow Johnathan's father seemed extremely bad-ass in the first couple chapters and I wish there was something more with him…but he was just mostly there for plot exposition. (and to give the first "connection" Dio gets to the Joestars)
-Johnathan...don't like him except when he gets peeved enough to start kicking butt. A lot of people say he's too much of a wuss...its true but only until he's pushed to his brink.
-Dio is...well, Dio, a plotting, manipulative SOB and creepy from day one even before becoming vampiric. Probably the most shocking part what when he first tried the mask on the mugger in London...I never saw him so helpless before with all the hype regarding who Dio is in pt. 1 and pt. 3.
-Speedwagon seemed cool at first with his killer derby but became mostly a commentator by the mansion fight...and his hair disturbs me.
-And Zeppeli...classic already! Not too many people can eat a sandwich, sneeze and throw out impressive Hamon attacks as if they were nothing!
Yeah, I know I'm nowhere near the Stands or the good stuff but you've got to start somewhere...

the hamon aka "ripple technique" IMO is incredibly epic as hell. Wait till you get to them fighting the two dark knights.

Yeah, I thought Jonathan was a bit of a wuss, too. He's one of my least favorite Jojo's, probably because his whole sporting gentleman routine got on my nerves some times. He's not a bad character, but he's pretty dull compared to the characters seen later on in the series.

Johnathan's problem is that he only seems to have emotion when he gets angry, particularly with all the crap Dio puts him through. Even when he's with that girl Elena, I'm more interested in seeing Araki drawing actual females (compared to some of the weirdness later I hear with Joylene) than I am with what's supposed to be his emotions coming out. Its like Johnathan has split personality disorder: half the time he's a gentleman and the other he just kicks butt like there's no tomorrow. He can't just mesh them together: he's either one or the other.
As for Hamon…I'm already impressed with the stunt with the frog. (making me see for myself a bit of what Kishimoto is, er, adapting)

Quit hating and just read it. Some of those "fag"-looking guys are among the manliest characters ever.

Some of the male characters in later on in the series look like girls, especially Part V's main cast. Buciarrati and Narancia have the girliest appearances, though. I still can't believe that I was imagining a female voice for Narancia early on, when it clearly stated that he was a guy.
In a way I liked jonathan, I especially liked the first time he whooped dio's ass.
The first couple fights (before Dio turns into a vampire) were pretty good, but the fight in the mansion…I had to reread some of it here or there but I was impressed with some of the stuff towards the end. (like Johnathan using the spear he was smashed with to flip up towards Dio and the whole bit with the statue of the Joestar mansion impaling Dio for dead in the fire) I don't doubt Johnathan's skill, I just think that once the action scenes are over he turns back into Mr. "I'm Such a Gentleman".
BTW: I looked at how long pt. 1 is...considering I read 20 chapters so far, I'm shocked I'm already halfway through it. (I think I saw Joseph's part begins around 45 or so)

Hope you're right…what I find interesting about Dio (whom I like...can't quite say "love") is that he just seems extremely manipulative and controlling even before his vampire days. You don't see a villain slowly chip away at a hero's defenses while playing up his good side too often...heck, I even thought he killed Johnathan's dog in the first chapter before he later came back to be burned alive. It's like Dio takes pleasure in other's misery and doesn't do desperate things unless he really has to for self-preservation.
I thought that was fucked up danny getting killed like that. Ever notice how the early chapters were kind of rushed?

My only guess is that Araki was setting everything up with the early chapters, allowing for the initiation and building of tension between Johnathan and Dio before bringing the Stone Mask officially into the equation. Heck, it felt quick but slower at the same time. And Danny's death…yeah, burning a dog alive was sick but very...Dio.

PS anyone notice all the children sidekicks? There's that kid at the end of part 1, the black kid in part 2 (Srry if you construe that as racism) The crossdresser girl in part 3, the short boy in part 4, and part 6 has that boy that lives in the jail.... (Part 5 has a turtle, wtf?)

i have now read the first 5 parts and for me the best villain is yoshikage kira…just a brilliant serial killer with a genius mind and a damn strong stand....i rly liked that chara...perfect villain ..comes the the Joker

What part are you in? If you have read the first 3 parts then I think it might be ok, but if not you should atleast finish the first 3.
Part 4 was ok for me, but seeing as how good Vagabond is I'd say it's worth to read Vagabond first over part 4.

Agreed. I'm really liking Stone ocean. I'm liking a lot of the characters and stands in this part. The fights have been pretty fucking awesome too.

I just finished Part V this morning. Man, you guys were right; Golden Experience Requiem was the biggest load of bullshit. Giorno's fight with Diavolo was my least favorite out of the final villain battles. It was so..disappointing. I really didn't like Diavolo's character, either. He was my least favorite main villain, with Cars as a runner-up. (I thought I'd never say that.)
Other than that, I really enjoyed Golden Wind. Giorno's still my least favorite Jojo, but Golden Experience was a neat Stand. I really liked the creative Stand powers in this part, but nothing compares to the ones in Part IV.

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure proper is over, ended with Stone Ocean.
Steel Ball Run is officially part 7 of the series though, and is currenly running in Ultra Jump. It's in a (kind of) different world that came to be after the events that ended Stone Ocean, and is al kinds of Awesome.
Gyro Zepelli may not be a Jojo, but he's my favorite lead now.
