Jojo's Bizarre Adventure

Joseph Joseph Joseph
-
Josuke obviously. I have a special spot for pompadours. Jotaro comes in second, then Joseph in close third.
-
I put my list of favorite Jojo awhile back in this thread. It's changed alot.
Least favorite to favorite:
Giorno
Jonothan
Jotarto
Josuke
JosephI used to not like Jonothan for some reaosn. The whole gentleman thing kind of annoyed me. But, after re-reading Phantom Blood, it was more tolerable than I remember it being.
Jotaro grew on me a bit, too. The cold bastard with good intentions archetype was never really my thing. But, I thought most of his lines were pretty cool, especially "The reason you lost, Dio, is because you pissed me off."
As for Joseph, I liked him most in Part III. He was the funniest out of all the Jojos. I thought I wouldn't like his character in Part IV, but he was okay for the most part. He still managed to keep some qualities of what makes his character so great.
-
Joseph will always be king. Jotaro was cool too, though.
-
Joseph or Josuke.
Norisuke Higashikata is pretty tight too, although he doesn't count.
-
Where do you guys read your Jojo at? Im just wondering how many different trans there are out there and if theres any huge differences between them. The one I read seems to work just fine and I havent noticed any problems but there could always be better ones out there I guess. Pm me if you would rather tell me there.
-

I get my chapters from here.
Regarding your question on differences in scans. The only one different from the rest is Part IV. The translation is awful for the most part. It's almost HK bootleg quality, but you can probably still tell what's happening despite that.
-
I don't feel like reading through the whole thread.
But I've already read Part 1, and most of Part 3.
I'm trying to read part 2… but I just can't. Is part 2 generally the worst part of them all? I see myself enjoying part 4 and part 5 if I ever get to them, but part 2 just isn't doing it for me.
Maybe I just want to get to the stands.
-
Part 2 is kinda weird since you go from Dio to some villains who don't use Stands and have nothing to do with any of the other arcs, so it's an awkward period of hanging out there between Stand-users and the series's beginning.
But it wasn't awful.
-
I actually liked part 2 better than one and three
so far its pretty much
1:Part 2 and 5
2:Sbr
3:part 1 and part3
4:part 4 and 6(can't really Judge these two tho for obvious reasons) -
Part 2 has a cyborg Nazi.
That alone is reason enough to read it.
-
That's what caught my attention on Wikipedia.
Vampire Jews are the reason I even watched one episode of Blood+, so anything with WWII that's ridiculous is going to have me at least look at it.
-
Part II was my least favorite, story-wise for some reason despite Joseph being the best Jojo. It's not that I didn't like it, it's just that I thought ACDC, Wham, and Cars were pretty lame villains compared to Dio and Kira. I didn't really care to much for Ceasar Zepelli either. Though I did like Lisa Lisa and Stroheim.
-
True, I didn't like the Pillar Men. I mean, out of all of them, Santana was my favorite, so that says something right there. Although, I did think this was interesting:
http://www.onemanga.com/Jojo%27s_Bizarre_Adventure/78/05/But overall, their "manipulation" of their own body and whatnot was a little weird and basically just said that they were completely over-powered fighters.
-
Yeah. The fight with Santana was, I guess it was good… but still, didn't give me that feeling Jojo fights usually give me.
What's the general consensus on Part 6? Part 5 has my favorite designs, but Part 6 is a close second.
I really wanna read part 5 lol, but I feel like I should just read it straight through instead of in pieces like I did before.
My biggest reason for reading Jojo's... was Falcoon's art of the characters, made me realize how freaking awesome some of the characters look. Araki's my hero.
-
My opinion of Part 6: I didn't really care about anything that happened, but Stairway to Heaven was a crazy-amazing Stand.
-
From what I've readof Part 6, I probably like it better than Part 5.
It's just crazier and it has the weirdest stand powers in the whole series. I also like some of the designs for 6 better than 5(but thats just me).
-
I wanted to like Part 6, I really did, but it just didn't really feel like an adventure; as much as the manga's title tries to convince you otherwise. I haven't read all of Part 6 but I didn't like how the female characters were given gender shields, for a manga based mostly on fighting, it was pretty darn boring not knowing when Jolyne or her comrades are going to lose a limb. This probably changes when more male characters join her but there was just no Jojo magic.
Whitesnake and Stairway to Heaven are pretty amazing though.
-
Again, I'm pretty much just going off of Falcoon's designs (but Araki's art is just as freaking awesome) but Pucci and Weather Report have the coolest designs.
!
And then everyone in part 5 looks freaking awesome, even if they wear lipstick. I think it's how Araki draws his clothes. So stylish, yet you'd never see anyone wearing that stuff in real life. It's so fantasy-like. And everyone has freaking weird hairstyles, yet they look so damned awesome.
A lot of the cool designs don't start till later IMO. I haven't even looked at part 4 yet though, so I'm not gonna say the cool designs start after part 4. It's so hard to find info about part 4 without actually reading it.

Whoa, where do you get pictures like that?
-
Real men wear fucking lipstick.

at the bottom, right click-> save Falcoon's blahblahblah.
Some awesome shit from the guy.
-
^awesome, thanks.
-
Well I would really like to read part 6 but it seems to be put on hold indefinitly. Any news on anyone picking it up? Id love to read all six in good quality but beggers cant be chosers and Ill take what I can get of Jojo.
-
lol, this is random, but is Jotaro's hat a part of his hair? If so, that's freaking weird.
-
The back part of his hat is ripped off.
-

-
@Cyringohn:
The back part of his hat is ripped off.
No, its hamon. It was explained during the fight with Alessi.
-
Part 5 owns my soul.
Skipped part 4.
But part 5 is such freaking greatness. All of the characters are so quirky. And their designs take the cake. And only about a 1/4 through so far.
Mista is my fave so far.
-
I thought I'd secured my spot as Golden Wind fanboy here.
And the only thing that I didn't like about Part 5 was Fugo. I mean, he shows up, has nothing really interesting about his character, uses his Stand once to do nothing, and then quits because he doesn't want to betray the guy who wants him dead.
-
Seeing as how he killed the Man in the Mirror's user, I don't really call that doing nothing.
It's pretty hard to do nothing when your Stand is overpowered as shit.
-
yeah up to the point Fuugo left they'd all had 1 fight and been on screen for about the same time
-
The one time he was used, it was pretty awesome though. I wonder if anyone will ever translate that book about his adventures after he left the group.
-
It flailed around and threw viruses everywhere and Giorno had to take them and use them inside the mirror, then guide Purple Haze to Man in the Mirror so he could kill him. I don't mean he literally did nothing, I'm saying that all the other characters really had to work with it while it was just messing around uselessly.
I think the author figured it was too over-powered which is why Fugo was taken out, but it was still a huge downer.
-
I think Fugo's stand should have been an enemy, it would have worked out much better. Something like Beach Boy would have made an awesome ally stand.
-
I didn't really like Beach Boy. I think it's just because the idea of hooks inside someone's body just makes me really uncomfortable. I don't really see how it could be an ally Stand, though.
-
I disliked how they had Fugo show some hints of romance towards um…the boss's daughter (her name escapes me atm), yet he was the only one who didn't want to help her.
-
Beach Boy is probably one of the best examples of a very balanced Stand.
-
Is Viz still putting out the series? I don't really bother with scans anymore, even One Piece. I'd love to read more V, and collect the earlier books for the hell of it.
-
My newest Shonen Jump advertises the volume with that girl with the Stand that magnetizes people.
Volume 10, irc, of Part III
-
Oh dammit. I forgot how slowly they're released.
-
Even still, I doubt Viz will release anything outside of part 3.
-
I've been buying Viz's part III volumes (because it's been a long time since I read the scans, and I enjoy reading actual books better than scans anyway), but yeah, it's taking quite awhile. Not as long as it took for them to finish the Phoenix though (or at least it doesn't seem as long).
Too bad they probably won't do any more. I wanted them to do Part IV.
-
Rusashi, in the link you posted to get JoJo's scanned chapters, Part IV doesn't really work. Do you have an alternate source?
-
http://www.confusticated.com/ignition-one/JJBA_Part_4_(Diamond_is_Unbreakable)/001/01/1100/1/
That one should work.
They have every part scanned on there(cept VI, obviously)
-
what do you mean Part IV doesn't work?
on highervoltage?
-
yeah
it sends you to the site, but when you hit the zipped volumes, it just sends you to a page full of a bunch of useless symbols that slows my compy down to shit-level.
-
Instead of clicking on the link itself, try rightclicking on it and going "save as" with it.
Sometimes, browsers will try to read zips and rars as text files, which results in the aforementioned gibberish slowdown hell.
-
^Alright, that seems to be working. Thanks.
