@Ordinary:
I'm currently reading chapters 68 (of part 2, where JoJo fights the men in the pillar.)
How does the ripple work anyway? What does it do? I'm a bit confused by this.
What happens to an object charged by ripple. Ceasar said the ripple doesn't work on non-living objects, yet the "JoJo Crackers" have ripple?
Did you read Part 1? It's explained there in terms of the basics.
Basically the ripple is a special breathing technique that allows the user to bring out their life force and instill it into other beings or objects, mainly in the form of the energy of the sun. For vampires who no longer have any life force, the impulse of it basically destroys them. For the pillar men, who cannot stand in the sunlight without being petrified, it negates their abilities a bit depending on how strong it is and makes it more difficult for them to regenerate.
It doesn't "work" on nonliving objects, but there are certain things that are capable of conducting the ripple through them. For most objects, I believe that most people cover them with the special oil that conducts the ripple well or it's made out of special material like Straits' and Lisa Lisa's scarves. There are some instances where ripples can be conducted quickly through relatively short distances though, like that time Jonathan defeated Jack the Ripper.
